Hello All,

I am currently a senior in college, graduating this May. I found out I was preggers at 5 weeks in September...I was very nervous at first but now I am excited. My partner (Mike) and I both have very loving and supportive families. So anyways...this pregnancy has pretty muched sucked since the beginning but thank God its getting better! LOL I was very sick in the beginning and fatigued but now things are better. I had strong cravings too in the beginning but as I progress im not really hungry anymore...and I have only gained 1 pound since my first Drs. appt at 5 weeks (Im now 18 weeks)...I guess its OK, my Dr. said not to worry...I will gain all the weight def by the 3rd trimester....

I love this site and being able to get advice from other women and mommys-to-be... I feel so much more comfortable knowing there are so many other ppl going through the same things as me :)

So I am finally going to start writing on here...I have been so lazy lately. So I fell down the stairs today (thankfully I feel on my rear instead of my belly)...everyone freaked out but Im OK! LOL it was kinda funny actually cause its happened before (not when I was pg though)... Ive been having a few cramps lately but the Dr. said its ok...I cannot wait for the 14th when we get to find out the sex! We are hoping for a boy :)

Well I went on Monday (two days ago) all excited to find out the sex. It was supposed to snow the night before so I was praying it wouldnt so my appt would not get cancelled. To my suprise it did not snow and we were able to get to the u/s place and 10 min after we got there the whole building lost power! Just my luck....thankfully, about 25 min later it was restored and we went right in....Baby was perfectly healthy, all 10 fingers and toes lol but would not open "it's" legs...So I was totally bummed for the whole day! But the good news is that we found a private 3d u/s place and it only costs like 99$ (plus 25% off our next visit) to do a 25 min 3D scan, gender determination, and we get a bunch of color pictures! So needless to say I am excited to go back and try again this coming Monday. Plus, the good thing is that if they cannot see the gender (again) I will be able to reschedule and come back for free to try again. So its like a win-win situation. Cant wait til Monday!

Got to find out today that we are having a little GIRL!!!!! I am more excited than I thought I would be...she is soo cute. Pictures are below. We even got a CD of 33 3D pictures to we can do what we want with them. It was great!

15 April 2008- 32w4d

So I havent written anything in a while, last weekend (apr 6th) was my family baby shower. It was lovely, everything was pink, and we got everything we needed. This Thursday (17th) is my second shower thrown by my friends from school. Im starting to get tired again like in the first trimester. I have also started getting BHs bad. Last time I went to the Dr. babys hr was 135 and she is head down and very active. I have been nesting too a lot lately. The nursery is finished (see pictures), and I have washed all of her things, and packed her bag for the hospital. Now I guess I just have to wait around. My graduation is the 12th of May so hopefully baby wont come any earlier than that date (I will be 36wks).

I will write more later, bye ladies

30 May 2008- 38w6d

Well...since I last wrote on here I have graduated college (may 12) and have been impatiently waiting for this girl to come out. haha Um...my original due date according to my last period was June 1st which is in two days but the Dr. pushed me back a week because my cycles were 31 days instead of 28...Im hoping that she messed everything up and the baby will come around the 1st or so. I am so sick of being pregnant, my back is killing me and it hurts so much to walk. Ive tried castor oil twice and it didnt work either time. I also have been drinking red raspberry leaf tea and taking evening primrose pills..nothing works my girl is stubborn. Hopefully the next time I write on here it will be my birthstory....

I know exactly how you feel waiting for the teeth to pop through. I haven't determined yet if my little guy is teething or not, but he certainly is drooly and puts EVERYTHING in his mouth!

hey, my son Zack is nearly 4 months old (on the 30th). he is huge now - it is funny cause he was so small at birth 2.8kgs (6pounds i think) and was in 5 x0s ahhhhh now he is in 00 or even 0 depending on the clothes - we dont have too much of a routine until the night were he will go to sleep around 8-12, next feed 3/4ish and up at 6ish the days vary as i take him to uni so i stuff him up abit i guess. he doesnt really like tummy time but can hold himself well, loves his activity mat!! your daughter is absolutely gorgous - how old is she??? how is school going??? assignments, assignments, assignments!!!

hi read your post about school - it is freaking hard - i got to uni 3 days a week and doing 30 units (equates to 30hours a week)... my partner and i own our own business + he has decided to also work in the power station (12hour shifts). we have had many arguements about housework of all things as i dont find the time (and it is the last on my priority list of things to do) I take my son to uni 2 days a week and my dad minds him 1 day. i get no work done but i prefer that than daycare at the moment (we have long waiting lists and the ones that are vacant i didnt like) i have 2 major assignments due and a presentation next week ahhhhh - i know it somehow just gets done i stay up everynight till his 12ish feeding and get a few hours sleep before we begin again.... i guess what i have found is that everytime i ask people how do they do it ALL i get the same answer - i dont know - it just gets done - you will be suprised at what you can do - i amaze myself on a regular basis at how much i can achieve it i have to - take care - good luck

When I pumped at home I wasnt really on a regular pumping schedule either. Now that I am back at work I pump 2 times which puts me at about 4 hours in between BF in the morning, 2 pumpings and then the first BF after picking him up from the sitter. You should have more than enough saved up with 50oz and since you have a head-start, what you pump at work will just be adding to the reserves. Also, my first day back at work I had a hard time pumping anything so I took some videos of TJ on my cell phone and I watch them while pumping which helps letdown. My breasts have gotten used to my pumping now though and I rarely have to do anything to get them to start flowing. I have noticed that I only letdown once on the first breast (I only have a sinlge-pump) and the second drips at the same time, so as a result I get about 4oz from the first side and only 2oz from the second. Because of this, I switch the starting side at the second pumping. Hope this helps! It is not easy transitioning to pumping at work but just stick with it and it will be totally worth it!

Hi! I'm not sure if I've shared this with you before, but here is a great website for making your own baby food: http://www.wholesomebabyfood.com, it has charts of what to give when, describes the best way to cook each different fruit and veggie, and even has recipes as they get older and can eat more things. I made all of Travis' baby food and it was so enjoyable and rewarding. Our neighbors across the street gave us some jars of food after their son wouldn't eat baby food anymore and I tried to give it to Travis and he didnt' like it. I tried the squash by gerber and honestly it was gross, didn't even begin to taste like squash. Also when I compared the food I made to the food in the jars it was amazing how much more color my food had which is the nutrients, vitamins and minerals that I think baby food companies tend to boil out of their products. If you have any questions or need suggestions, let me know!

Hello! Congrats on your baby girl, she's gorgeous!! I saw your comment on the breastfeeding forum. I've been researching that myself, my friend was giving her 10 week old son baby food and I knew that had to be wrong. Here's some helpful websites:

And I plan on making my own baby food, I got a food mill from mother-in-law just for that purpose goodluck with everything!!
