WELCOME!

SHES HERE!!!!!

SOPHIA MARIE WAS BORN JANUARY 12

8LBS 2.5OZ,21 IN

Lets see... a little bit about myself. I am happily married to the man God has sent to me. We were married on July 1, 2006. Yup! God has blessed me with someone who I adore, and he adores me as well. We were together 4 years the day before our wedding. Before getting married, we always talked about having children and our time has come very fast!!

Birth Story

Well, well, well, what can I say. Life is BEAUTIFUL!!! It all started on January 11 at about 11:00pm. Josh and I went to bed for the night. Around 11:15pm or so, I felt lower abdominal cramping and automatically brushed it off as BH. I tried to go back to sleep and suceeded for about 10 minutes. I then woke up itching. Yeah, really weird. So I thought that maybe it was the detergent I had used for the sheets (I had just changed them that day). I got up and got two other blankets to put over me so that I could sleep on top of the comforter. Well, that helped. I slept for about an hour and a half. I woke up again to the same pain, so I went to the bathroom. I came back to the room, got in the bed AGAIN and tried to go back to sleep. Next thing I know, I was on all fours in pain. My husband jumped up and immediately asked me what was wrong. I told him I couldn't talk at the moment and he jumped up. After my contraction was over, he convinced me to walk around to see if they would go away or if they would get worse. Well to our suprise, he timed them, and they were coming EVERY 2 MINUTES!!!! I couldn't believe it. Boy they were painful, but as soon as they were over, I was fine! Josh called the doctor and she said to bring me in right away because they were coming so soon. Well, I got dressed, he FRANTICALLY got dressed and we got in the car. This had to be about 2:40am. Well, we pull out of the driveway and hubby suddenly remembers that he doesn't have his wallet! OMG. Tell me about the worst time to try to find your wallet.... Well, after about 5 minutes, he finds it, and we're rolling. He's a cop and he wanted to have his badge just in case he got pulled over because he drives pretty fast! (MIND YOU THE HOSPITAL IS 30 MINUTES AWAY) Lovely Hubby then figures out that the car we took was OUT OF GAS!!! I just laugh when I think about it. So we leave the house at 2:48am. All I know is that I looked at the clock when we got to the hospital and it was 3:16am. I don't know how he got there so fast. So we get checked in and I'm at 3 cm. They look after me for about 1 1/2 hours and I move to 4. The nurse told me we were stayin! YIPEE!!! I had my epidural shortly after that, and Sophia Marie arrived at 8:04pm January 12th. Only 24 minutes of pushing! It was the easiest labor and delivery ever! I wanted to kiss the person who came up with the epidural! Hubby and I slept and watched movies all day. I promise, I would do it all over again and not change anything!!!

January 24, 2008--Well, little Miss Muffin is now 12 days old! Wow, it's hard to believe that those 12 days went by so fast. She had her 2 week checkup yesterday. I was shocked to find out that she now weighs 9lbs and 6oz! She's also 21 1/2 inches long now! It's amazing that she's growing so fast! I guess Mommy's "golden milk" is doing it's job! She is truly a delight to have around. Her Daddy and I couldn't be more proud (and tired). I posted some pics from her visit yesterday! She's changing so much!

February 1, 2008--Well, little Miss Sophia will be 3 weeks on tomorrow! What can I say... SHE CHANGES SO MUCH!! She looks totally different to me from the pictures above. Her color is coming in and she looks more and more like my Husband's side of the family. It's so funny. Every time my Mom comes over, she says that she looks more and more different. She had her first bath yesterday and slept for 5 hours straight! Needless to say...she'll be having her baths at night now!! Besides that, she has her good days and her bad days. Some nights she sleeps, and others are very hard! I am in love with my daughter and I wouldn't change anything! TTYL!!

3 weeks!!!

February 9, 2008--She's one month old today!! I can't believe it!! She is growing sooo fast. She has a doc appt. on Monday, so we'll see how much she weighs! I'm truly thinking at least 11 lbs. Hubby and I actually went on a date for the first time since she's been here. It was hard. My Mom had her and she said whe was fussy. I got a little worried and couldn't really enjoy the basketball game. When I got to my Mom's house, Sophia was sooooo happy to seem me! I was so happy! I breastfed her, and when she was done, she just looked at me for the longest time. It made me feel soooooo good. We got home and she slept from 12-5:30am. Woke up to eat and went back to sleep from 7-10. We both slept soooo good! Too bad Daddy had to get up to go to work. He couldn't really enjoy her sleeping. Well, i'll post a pic of her.

February 22, 2008-- We've met the six week mark!!!!! Yipee!!! I had my appt. and all is clear! Doctor said that i'm doing great! Sophia is also doing wonderful. She's smiling and actually trying to coo! It's hilarious! She acts like she's about 3 months! Everybody says that she's so advanced for her age. I'm so in love with her!!! I never knew that love could be so strong! Well--enough about my googling, i'll post some pics.

March 11, 2008--Well Sophia is now 2 months old now! Time is going by so quickly! She has had a little bit of a problem with spitting up, and her Daddy and I seem to think that it's indegestion or acid reflux. So....we've taken her to our chiropracter who is WONDERFUL!! He says that within a few visits, we'll se a drastic change in her spitting up. And Sophia LOVED it! Especially being held upside down! Here are the pics!!

Sophia's Day at the Chiropracter! 2 months old!

March 18, 2008--Well Sophia is now 8 1/2 weeks! She will be 9 weeks on Saturday. Time is going by so quickly! Sophia had her 2 month checkup yesterday and now weighs 14 lbs! She's also 23 inches long. It's hard to believe how big she's geting. We are dealing with her eczema. We are truly praying that it will pass soon! Her doctor prescribed some medication and we have seen a difference overnight. The eczema really effects how she acts. Poor baby! She will be dedicated on next Sunday. So exciting!!

March 24, 2008 -- Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter! Sophia and I did. We were a little bummed cause Daddy had to work! ARGH!! Any hoo, we visited my Parents church. My Dad preached a good message! Sophia loved it! She laughed at my little sister during the worship and slept during the whole message! Needless to say, she got passed to about 4 people during the message. First my Sisters Jennifer and Christina, My Mom and then my Brother Andrew. She loved it. Hence the picture of her sleep with her mouth open. Now that's the life! lol. By the way...her eczema is clearing up very nicely. She is a MUCH MUCH MUCH happier baby now that she isn't itching. She laughs and coos and tries to talk to just about EVERYBODY!!

March 31, 2008--Sophia was dedicated to the Lord yesterday! It was such an exciting and emotional time! We are so glad to be able to be her parents. We want her to grow up loving the Lord and letting Him lead her life. After the dedication we had dinner at our house. SOOOO much fun! My Sister and her Fiance are the Godparents. Love them soo much! Below are some pics.

April 8, 2008--Check out my new ears! I got some bling!!!!!!!

April 24, 2008---SOPHIA'S TEETHING! PLEASE PRAY FOR US! LOL. I'll post some pics real soon!

GOTTA LOVE THE BUMBO SEAT!!!!!!!!!!

What you lookin at?Congrats Auntie Christina!

June 2, 2008--

Hello all! Update time! it's been awhile since i've updated, so let's get started. Sophia is AMAZING!!!!!!! She will be 5 months on the 12th. Time goes by so fast! I can't wait for her to wake up most mornings because she lights up my day! She is truly her Mama's child. She STARES at me everywhere I go. She constantly wants to either be on me or close by where she can see me. I love it! She loves her Daddy too! He loves to take her for walks and spends so much time with her when he's off of work. As a matter of fact, they are both asleep on the couch right now. So cute! She had her first little cold about a week ago. I gave her water with crushed echinecea (all natural of course!) Her cold dried up within 2 days. Awesome! She has an appt. in two days. We can't wait to see how much she weighs because she is soooo heavy now! It's hard just carrying her in her car seat! I think it's time to move up to the next size. She loves to be sung to and actually rocks back and forth when you sing to her! So cute! She's also turning over now. I thank everyone for their prayers with her eczema. It is doing really good now! She breaks out in little red bumps behind her ears and on her chest when she gets too hot, so we have to make sure that we don't overdress her. Other than that, she's doing awesome. She's still exclusively breastfed, well besides a little bit of my baked potatoe when I eat it. She loooooooooves it! She has officially ditched the pacifier. She's now a "right hand first two fingers" girl! It's so funny. She can be screaming, but find her fingers and be so happy! Well, that's all for now. I'll add a pic of her below. Toodles!

4 months old

August 5, 2008

Wow! It's been awhile! Our family is doing great. Sophia is definately keeping us busy! She will be 7 months on the 12th, and she's very very active. She sits up now and actually tries to crawl! Her words are DaDa and Nnnnnaaaa! We haven't quite figured out what that one is yet. lol. She's actually teething, and loves to make bubbles. She is truly our little angel from God. We can't imagine life without her! Here are a few pics from her day at the pool. She LOOOOVED the water. Giggled the whole time!

November 18, 2008--Hello Hello! I see that I haven't added pics since Sophia was 6 1/2 months old. I"m so sorry! Been really busy. Well, as you can see, Sophia is growing so fast! She is now 10 months and is ALL OVER THE PLACE! As of right now, I just heard her close her door in her room. She likes to get into things and has learned that closing the door keeps Mommy and Daddy away! HILARIOUS! Thankfully--there isn't anything in her room that can hurt her. lol. She is walking and saying Dadda and Yum Yum. Yum Yum usually means lets eat. Yes--at 10 months, she lets me know when she's hungry. She is sooo advanced. People mistake her for a 13 month old. She's tall and walking, so as you can imagine, she looks older than what she really is. She is now eating Oatmeal, Cream of Wheat, Applesauce, Banannas, Apples, Wheat Waffles, Cheese, Juice, and an array of others! This girl likes to eat! She is also still nursing twice a day. I'm trying to go until she's 12 months, so we shall see. As some of you know, I am 3 months pregnant, so needless to say--she will be weining very soon! Thanks for reading! Enjoy the pics.

The pictures at the chiropracter are priceless! Is everything okay? Was there a problem as to why she needed to go? She's getting so big, it really doesn't take long doesn't it? Easton wil be six months next week, I can't believe how much he's grown, at this rate, he'll be in school before I know it!

Thanks for the FYI on the diapers and the induction. I plan on having a natural birth (at a birthing center), so unless I have to get transfered to the hospitatal for a medical reason or if I am not progressing. I am getting a little miserable now...I started have BH contractions more frequently and I find myself wide awake at 4am (praying 'Lord, pleeeeasehelp me to get back to sleep'). I had my (suprise)baby shower Sunday so now we are trying to get the rest of the necessary items on our list. The anticipation of our baby girl is steadily rising! Of course I am also trying not to loose my mind wandering how long it's going to take me to get back in the swing of things. It's amazing how we are going to have this helpless being depending on us and at the same time, we are totally dependent upon God. How is Sophia doing? And Mommy?

BWhite - Tuesday, 11 Mar

SimSim - Friday, 29 Feb
I know i keep telling Vaeh to keep her butt still and not grow up so fast on me. Dont you love the cooing sounds they make though like they think theyre really holding conversation. The day she got her shots was the worst day man she had fever and was in so much pain all night cause they jab it right into the muscle. I felt so bad i cried anytime she cried. My poor baby and she has to go back every 2 months for more till shes 15 months old.

Raquel1stbaby - Friday, 29 Feb
I'm doing well (especially since I went to my birthing class and found out that there are women who have much bigger problems than myself, such as breached babies, etc), a few aches here and there...still trying to get my iron up. I am trying to do my registy, about how many diapers do you go through in a day?

deanna - Thursday, 28 Feb
Yeah, she had her shots at 2 months and I tried to stand right there with her but after the first one I had to turn away, cover my ears and let my husband stand there or I was going to cry. lol. They told me when we first went in that she was only going to get two shots b/c they were out of this one combination shot (3 shots in one)but when it came time to give them to her she ended up getting FIVE! I was so upset. I have never heard her scream that loud before. Whew, I'm glad it's over. She did good afterwards. One good thing to do is to give her some infant Tylenol before you take her and she should be okay. After the shots, you may need to put some warm compresses on her legs so they don't get a knot at the site of injection. Just make sure you take someone else with you in case you can't handle it and need to leave the room. When is she suppose to get them?

SimSim - Thursday, 28 Feb
She is doing real good. Growing everyday and doing something new everyday. She thinks she is grown, you should see her thinking she can crawl and wanting to have us stand her up all the time. She doesn't want to be a 2 month old baby lol. How is Sophia doing?

deanna - Wednesday, 27 Feb
I know, it seems like I have spoken to you in ages. Jaida is getting bigger and bigger each day. I'm really trying to enjoy these days since we don't plan on having anymore. Matter of fact, she is sitting on my lap as I'm typing. She is such a wonderful, calm baby. She only gets a little fussy when she's hungry. I love her to death; but I know you can understand that kind of love! I see you've gotten through your six weeks, lol. We cheated; my husband couldn't make it. LOL. Anyway, I've gotten the IUD since then and it's not bad. Now at least I have up to 5 years to decide if I want to get the Essure procedure done. Jaida is cooing alot as well and she smiles quite a bit. Make sure you keep in touch and I'll do the same.

deanna - Wednesday, 27 Feb
Look how sweet!...And all that hair!

CONGRATZ ON UR LIL MAMAZ,N DID IT HURT?

SimSim - Saturday, 23 Feb
Vaehs skin is completely clear now. Not a bump in sight. Im glad your feeling more like yourself. Vaeh got her first vaccinations last night, girl what a hell of a night after that. She was in so uch pain she was so unhappy i felt terrible for her. You should try and organise Sophias shots to be a day before Josh's day off cause you will definitely need his help. They jab the injection into the babys leg muscles and it makes their muscles sore. I cried for my baby. I wished they could have given me the shots instead

Raquel1stbaby - Friday, 22 Feb
Hi Newmommy2008, I am glad to see that you are adjusting well. Sophia is precious as ever and definitely changing! Our little girl is almost here and of course I am getting uncomfortable and she and I are fighting for space. None the less, she is healthy and growing, I am healthy and we pray that all continues to go well. God bless as you continue to figure out Little Miss Sophia!
