March 10

Had another hcg blood test today because it was so low last week (only 193), and now my level is 5,255! So my levels are rising nicely! My first prenatal appointment will be on March 31.

March 31

Today we had our first prenatal appointment. They did an ultrasound and we got to see the baby! Now it really does feel like I'm pregnant! We saw the little heartbeat flickering and everything, they said it was 140 bpm which is within normal range for 8 weeks. My next appointment isn't until May 19th, I'll be 15 weeks by then. I was soo scared that there wouldn't be a heartbeat or something, I feel 100% better today!

April 10

Got a call from the doctor saying the cystic fibrosis test came back negative. Yay!!! Really wish I had an appointment before 15 weeks to hear the heartbeat. That's a long time to wait! I'm not too impressed with Kaiser Permanente so far...

April 14

Well, I ended up renting a fetal doppler and I found the heartbeat today! It brought tears to my eyes =) The bpm was 165. It is soo hard to find it though this early! Hopefully it gets easier to find in the coming weeks when the baby is bigger because I love hearing it!

April 17

Had a scare last night with a little bleeding, saw my nurse practitioner today and they did an ultrasound. Everything was fine thank god!!!! The baby was moving around so much! It was so good to know everything was okay. Got some great pictures, it actually looks like a little baby now! They changed my due date back two days as well.

May 9

Found the heartbeat last night with my doppler! It is so hard to find!!! The heart rate was about 160, I guess old wives tales say it's a girl if it's over 140?!

May 13

Well, things haven't been so great lately. I had bright red bleeding on the 11th and today. The doctor says I have placenta previa. So... no sex or exercise for 5 weeks!!! That is going to be hard, I love working out! I guess I can still go on walks. He said that the placenta usually grows upward as the uterus gets bigger, if it doesn't I'll be high risk and probably have to have a c-section. I am so upset right now! But, at least the baby is okay.

On a good note, I took the intelligender test and it said it's going to be a boy! We'll see if it's correct on June 16th!

Hi, I am also due on the 8th Nov!!! At 12 weeks I also had some bleeding and after 2 m/c last year convinced myself I had lost the baby. My scan showed all was well and I was told that the bleeding was due to having a low lying placenta and that it should hopefully move as the pregnancy progresses. Good luck!!!!

Thanks a lot that made me feel much better... I dyed my hair yesterday because I couldn't take it anymore... didn't touch the roots but I inhaled some of the fumes... I know it's crazy but last night I felt very guilty for doing that. Hope all is well with you.

I had partial placenta previa w/ my last pregnancy. Your placenta can still move so there is a chance of a vaginal delivery, Mine was a rare case and i had to have a c-section. if ya have any questions hit me up

When I had my test for down syn. the doctor told me it was a boy. When I went back to my OBGYN, she told me that the doctor hasn't been wrong on any of the other patients. Plus he actually searched to make sure. I have a picture but it's a pdf. It really depends on what kind of doctor you are dealing with. As of for ultrasounds, they can do it this early.

Hey!! I also have a doppler and I have heard that when its above 160 its predicted to be a girl :) My baby's heartbeat has been around 170, and we think we are having a girl too!! :) good luck

Hey..trying to get back to you from your message last week about losing the symptoms. I didn't feel any symptoms for a day or so. After that, it was full on nausea, cramping and acid indigestion. I went in for my 2nd appt today. The baby looks fine. They told me that I should be losing my symptoms, but I still have acid indigestion and nausea. I also get a little cramps now and then. Are you getting better?

lorraineg03 - Wednesday, 16 April
Hi.. CONGRTATULATIONS!!!! I've had 3 because I have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome.. so we did not know when my last period was so the 1st one determined how far along i was, the 2nd ultrasound was because i was bleeding :-( and the third was a followup.. so far everythign is great. I go again at 13 weeks for the Nuchal Testing (didnt have that with daughter)
How far along are you?

amy4483 - Wednesday, 16 April
You sound like me! I was sick awhile ago but only for 2 weeks. My energy level is much better now! I feel pretty normal except my belly is growing so it gets a little crampy sometimes. I have my 2nd appt next friday the 25th. I will hear the heartbeat for the first time! I'm so excited.

amy4483 - Saturday, 12 April
Hello! thats great that you got prego on the first try! I never thought it would happen so fast! I feel so lucky! I was pretty sick for 2 weeks at about 7 -8 weeks but I feel good now. I'm still pretty tired but glad the morning sickness has passed. I'm feeling a little crampy. I think its just my body growing! Yay!!! How have you been? any sickness?

mynmel - Friday, 11 April
I don't know if I should call my ob. I went in for my 1st appt last April 1st and he said the baby is healthy and moving. My next appt is on April 22nd. I'm just concerned because 5 months ago, I miscarried with my first pregnancy. I went in to hear the heartbeat and they were unable to detect it at 12 1/2 weeks. The doc said I had lost the baby around 10-11 weeks. So, they performed a D & C. Today, all I'm feeling is nausea and I couldn't stand the smell of the food in the lunch room at work.

bugnjb - Friday, 4 April
Oh well, we got the 2mhz with out the monitor from Stork Radio for 25 per month. They say with the 2mhz you can hear the heart beat from 8-12 weeks and with the 3mhz you can hear it from 10-12 weeks so it might still be a little early for the one you have. I was 9 weeks and 1 day the first day I heard our heartbeat.

heidibelle - Friday, 4 April
Much like bugnjb, I had to try for a good hour all over my belly to try to figure the darn thing out. I had accidentally come across it when my brother-in-law came shooting up the stairs from the basement, so I had to start all over. Anywhoo, I have a 3 mhz model that I bought on Ebay for about $110 USD. I was able to first pick up the heartbeat at 9 weeks 3 days and have heard it almost every day since. It really helps to have a full bladder. I also am not skinny or overweight. I do carry a little more weight in my tummy than other places, but I had no problem hearing and after practice can find the spot within seconds. It is the most amazing thing to be able to hear that little drummer whenever you fancy. Good luck!!!

bugnjb - Friday, 4 April
Oh and by the way... Where did you get yours from? And what kind did you get?

bugnjb - Friday, 4 April
Well, there is one main spot I always find the heartbeat and one other spot that I can sometimes find it. If you start in the middle right below your belly button and then move like a little to either the left or the right those are the 2 spots I find it and it is like RIGHT above the pubic bone. Now I don't know how much you weigh or anything but like for me I'm not super skinny, but I'm not real obese either but I have to press down a little to actually hear if, it I just gently have it on my skin I can't hear anything either. I know the very first time I used it it took me a REALLY long time to find it, I was just about to give up and then I found it. And since then since I know the "hot spot" its a lot easier but there was one other time too where I just couldn't find it. So be patient. Good Luck!!

tabatha - Sunday, 30 Mar
the only symptom i have had, up until this weekend, was just severe fatigue..but, this weekend i have had alot of queeziness, i haven't gotten sick though, but the sick feeling is just always there, and i hate it. also my boobs feel like someone has been punching on them! i've been craving alot of sweets too, i did this with my last pregnancy as well..how have you been feeling so far?

kristi - Friday, 28 Mar
I agree about getting food in my stomach... if i just can eat something that sounds good to me i usually feel better... i also agree about gaining weight! i feel like im always forcing myself to eat and its usually things that arent the best!

kristi - Friday, 28 Mar
Congrats to you too! I'm feeling okay... definitely morning and afternoon sickness though.. how bout you?

pargy - Friday, 28 Mar
I had my first ultrasound at 8-weeks and the tech was able to pick up the heartbeat. That felt really good to know that things were progressing as expected. Good luck at your appointment.

preggy08 - Friday, 28 Mar
