My son was born on Valentines Day. It was an eperience I will never forget. This is how it went, we went in on the 8th and the induction failed. So they had us come back on the 13th, that induction failed as well. Connors head just did not want to fit through my pelvis. The Dr. said if we hold off to long it could mean more complications, so in the second induction he popped my water to try to speed things up that also failed. Even though we had some failed attemps, Connor Rhiley Callahan came into the world via c section at 8:39pm on 02/14/08. He was 8 pounds 1 once and was 20 inches long.

Connor is already 12 days old....time seemed to drag by the last few weeks of pregnancy and now its flying by. I want to capture every moment. I love my son more than life itself.!!!

yes i was induced again and i laid there for almost 2 days then i begged for a c-sectiond so i had him hes in the intensive care unit tho so i didnt get to take him home he was born 2-7-08

1 cm is about a fingertip dilated. I've been 1 cm since at least 36 weeks. Your progression before active labor has no indication of when labor will actually begin...women can walk around at 4 cm, and have to be induced, while other will be completely closed and thick and have their baby the next morning. Don't feel bad about not progressing. W/ my second my water broke at home and I didn't dilate past 3 cms and had to be induced. But alot of times you can shoot up to 10 in no time. W/ my first I thinned out faster than I dilated. I was at one w/ her and she ended up coming 2 days before your due date. 1 cm is pretty much a finger tip. I wouldn't worry too much cause there's really nothing you can do, let nature take it course. Good luck!

Thanks on the congrats! I'm thrilled about having a girl! Finally some pink in this house!!! I'm becoming a pink shop-a-holic!!! The ultrasound pics were so clear I can't stop looking at them. I'm so excited!!! Best wishes on a healthy pregnancy. Keep in touch!!

Hey, I just wanted to let you know that I asked my doc today, they said that if the baby moves at all, the heartbeat definately jumps. -and- that you can pick up the heartbeat in two places (from above and from below or side to side) So definately update me when you find out! You never know until they look! I found out today that my uterus is AT my bellybutton already and not three cms underneath like its supposed to. Theres only one heartbeat though. lol. Anyway, GL! You are just starting out, if it is twins, maybe you'll get a boy and a girl and you can get it done in one swoop! :)

I have to tell you, I rented a doppler, and it shows the heartrate on the screen. I have found (I have used it atleast twice a day) there are definately times when the baby moves so fast and find the heartbeat all the way across my belly and the heartbeat doesn't stay the same. When you are moving, your heartrate fluctuates too. It will jump a little even when I think the baby is sleeping and not really moving around. So it is definately possible, but I would definately wait until the u/s. Also, I have gained around 10 lbs already too, but its mostly belly and boobs lol!

Hi Amber ! Congrats! Youre due just one day after me! Its not too early to be feeling movements as Im feeling them too. First they started off very very faint slight fluttery movements, then this weekend I felt little popping sensations at the front of my belly where baby would be. Was so sweet. Its my first baby too. Hope youre feeling well xox

So r you wanting a boy or a girl?? I wanted a little boy at first.. but now i am so excited to be having a little girl. Your lucky you didn't have much morning sickness. yeah thats true.. its not really his choice.. unless hes planning to be sneeky about it.. JUSTMOMMIES said that I'd have a girl too :) I have no idea what to do with myself anymore.. it seemed like last month was all appointments and now i have to wait till August 28th.. I might go crazy by then
