ready - Friday, 1 August
i was 1.5 cm for weeks with my oldest son. It just may be to early. I do know a lady that owns an herb store. She told me early in my pregnancy not to let anyone message my ankles. You have an acupunter(spelled wrong) point at your ankles that can put you into labor. Have someone message your ankles everyday! That may help. I'm going to wait until I'm 40 weeks before I start trying any of these things. They will work. I think its just a matter of timing as well.

I 2nd that...I HATE SUMMER!!! We don't have any humidity but its 96-100 here and just plain old hot! I hope that cold feeling you are talking about is for everyone...I would pay to feel cold lol. I am in a constant state of sweat, its so gross.

sunnshine - Thursday, 31 July
They are inducing me on the 7th at 39 weeks because of my gestational diabetes. They said since I'm insulin dependent, they don't want to let me go over my due date because there is a higher risk for complications, the placenta may stop working, etc. So, they said they would rather take him a little early and have a healthy baby than risk letting me go to 40 and have problems. When they checked me last week I was about 1cm too...don't know what I am now. She will check again on Tuesday before the induction on Thursday.

kaycie1 - Wednesday, 30 July
i lost my plug ( the only time i lost my plug) with my first like 30 days exactly before my due date. i guess if u lose it early it can kind of grow back.

joyfulnoise - Wednesday, 30 July
I'm totally not ready either. My husband is working out of town right now. He can get here in 6 hours if I need him, but last night he said "I just need 5 more days, lay down and try to wait 5 more days." Ummmmm......ok
I also had a obgyn check on Monday and I am dilated 1cm. But no kidding about the tonsils lol , like my cervix is way the hell in there or what!?

sunnshine - Wednesday, 30 July
Lol I know! Mine was nasty too! I freaked out and called my doctor too, but they told me it didn't mean I was going into labor any time soon. Obviously, it's been over a week. Good luck at the doc :)

joyfulnoise - Wednesday, 30 July
I lost mine this morning too! I was in the shower and it slipped out, I saw it and I was shocked. It was definately it because it was tinged brown and red and was like an inch or so long. I thought it seemed early too. I have a book that says that it is a sign of uterine activity and labor may start in a few days. I'm still shocked.

sunnshine - Wednesday, 30 July
I've been "plugless" since last Tuesday. Haha. Still no baby. No water breakage. No contractions. Basically was just told no sex due to risk for infection and had to wait til baby was ready to come out. Can mean few days or weeks. No one really knows. Sorry! I know if you are anything like me, you are anxious to get the little one here! Good luck :)

3rdboymom - Tuesday, 29 July
Ya I would talk to them about it at your next appt. They didn't know w/ mine untill I pushed him out & then told me "you shouldn't have been able to push him out like that" I was like well I'm not putting him back,LOL. Mines face down, but I still want them to make sure when I go in 4 delivery, My son was in NICU the 1st day cuz his heart rate was so high & he was born w/ a fever, I'm not positive that's what caused it but I'm sure it didn't help.

kaycie1 - Monday, 28 July
37 weeks is not too early to sweep. my dr usually starts sweeping around 37 weeks. it takes me a couple times to get anything going though. so i wouldnt worry about it being too early. usually it just helps start things going, but usually does not throw u into labor unless u are already on the verge.

tdotali - Monday, 28 July
This is my first baby...but when I was born, I was an emergency c-section and my mother gave birth to my 10lb sister naturally 2 years later. And that was 26 years ago...so I don't see why it couldn't be done now.

Yes things can go wrong (I know, I work with special need kids) but the vast majority of the time...things go perfectly
Good luck and try not to be fearful.

awww dont feel that way! I havent watched that movie but have heard about it and refuse to watch something that is one sided instead of educational because each choice has pros and cons. I am a nurse that worked on a maternity unit for months while in nursing school, and I can tell you that MDs hate doing c'sections unless they have to. They are more high risk procedures, way more work, way more time consuming, and not as great healthwise for mom and baby. They only do it if they absoloutely have to for mom and babys best interest. As a first time preggo, I can tell you that I feel a lot more confident and safe at the hospital Heaven forbid anything goes wrong, you have the proffesionals, equipment and help there that you need. Having a baby can actually be very dangerous. Im sure that movie does not mention the potential of severe potential dangers that cannot be dealt with at home, such as hemorhage, amniotic fliud embolism, etc.

I think I'm gonna go for a walk w/ my hubby trying to get more dilated by my apt on Wed so my dr can sweep my membranes. I went for a long walk on Fri & I think it helped had a watery discharge & tons of contractions all night the nurse at the dr's office said I was probably dilating & losing my mucus plug, I sure hope so.It hurts to walk but hopefully it'll be worth it.

3rdboymom - Sunday, 27 July
Oh I hear ya, my friends try telling me it's all baby, I know better. I swear my legs & ass have doubled in size and don't get me started on back fat ughhh. I just hope I can lose this weight fast after I have him.

3rdboymom - Friday, 25 July
It's good to hear I'm not the only one that gains 60lbs per pregnancy even being sick most this pregnancy I've still managed to pack on 45lbs so far it's pretty depressing. I got all skinny for my wedding last summer & know I feel like a hippo.

3rdboymom - Friday, 25 July
The sad thing is all my kids have different fathers so I think I'm just meant to be a boy mom. This has been the hardest pregnancy on my body I had morning/night sickness till I was 7mths now I'm just huge & uncomfortable oh plus I've had migraines my entire pregnancy. Can'nt wait to be done, but I'm sure he'll be worth it. Not trying to scare you if u do try 1 more time, I have a couple friends on their 3rd pregnancy w/o any problems.

lolarose - Thursday, 24 July

I KNOW! I'm normally so active. It is hard to think how long it's going to take to get back to my old size. It's so HOT here too. About 92 and so humid. Thank God for air conditioning. I have never been inside this much in the summer! We bought a beach pass and haven't used it once because I feel like a beached whale too. They would probably send green peace out to rescue me.

jaleca - Friday, 18 July
Lol...thanks...I just have a feeling I'm going to be a 42 week lady and ready to go crazy...I don't mind as long as my baby is healthy but the thought is friggin annoying!

Beeccii - Friday, 18 July
Im using a doula. I want to have a natural in-hospital birth and have a husband who freaks out when Im in pain--sooo....we needed an experienced helping hand. She is wonderful already. We have had two meetings with her so far and have discussed labor and baby care. She really know a lot about labor and delivery and I think that she will be a godsend in the hospital.
A doula may help you avoid a c-section if you want to have a natural birth by assisting and encouraging you through the pain in order to avoid the complications that an epidural may cause. However, doulas also come in handy if you have an epidural by explaining and supporting you through a scary labor/delivery. Good luck!

Hello. I am responding to your Hairy Situation :)
I am pregnant with my second child, but with my first I was shaved. I had my husband help me shave in the shower, (a day or two before birth)I left a line for design but I was pretty bare. I guess it is whatever you feel comfortable with. Although I I have read that it is cleaner for the baby if you shave. In fact, I read that hospitals would shave women who came into give birth to eliminate chances for infection or bacteria. Good luck and just make sure what ever you do you are comfortable.

MrsBandBabyB - Wednesday, 9 July
I think it's normal not to feel hiccups. One of the books I read said some people feel them and others don't. I don't think I've felt them either. And if I have I didn't know it was hiccups. My baby does a lot of the bigger kicks and punches. I'm sure everything is fine! Good luck with your little one!!!!

totaltrip - Monday, 30 June
i have heard of the walking epidural from one of the baby shows. i thought it was a great concept.

krystalanne - Wednesday, 25 June
Thank you for the message. My doctor is very supportive, we are going to schedule a c-section a few days after my due date to give me time to go into labor on my own, because he can't induce me.... I went through labor with my son almost 6 years ago, but he was almost 11lbs so I COULD NOT push him out and had to have a c-section. I'm hoping that this time my baby will be smaller ( different fathers) The Dr. said, as long as the baby is 8lbs or under I should be fine ( I have an oval shaped pelvis)
