I was instructed to wait to give a tub bath until the cord fell off because they don't want it getting wet. I'm sure if it gets wet it won't hurt but keeping it dry promotes it scabing and falling off. And it decreases the chances of it becoming infected. I sponge bathed with a rag until her cord fell off. I'm sure different doctors have different opinions on the subject like just until recently we were told to use alcohol or betadine swabs with each diaper change. New studies showed that it really didn't make a differnce just as long as you kept it dry. Hope that helps.

hey girl! my section went ok.....i had some heart problems and they kept me for one extra day but the outcome was worth it....alana is eating at this very moment....she was 7-10 and 20 1/2' long......hope your doing well... congrads on your baby!!!

Thanks for your message. Internal exams are certainly not pleasant, but it would be nice to know things were working towards the end. I'm getting very tired of being pregnant (my belly's so heavy now I can hardly walk - LOL!) but I suppose in 5 weeks or so it will be all over whatever :-) Good luck with the CSection on Thursday.

WOW! Your going in ONE day before me....well, good LUCK!!!! Hope your recovery goes fast and you and your baby do well!!! Let me know how things go....and it is hard remembering how things went in previous pregnancies...I don't remember hardly anything with my first, I guess I was freaking out so I blocked it...lol! Hey there! I go in for my preop next Thursday....I think it's just paper work...they may draw blood but I'm not sure...I didn't have to do preop 10+ years ago with my first scheduled csection, so let me know what they do ok? Good Luck! When is your csection?? Mine is next Friday....Good Luck!!!

thanks for sharing! that does sound nice - have a baby right on schedule no need to rush, race to the hospital, have false alarms.... Did ur Ob say anything about the number of children u can have when u have c-sections? Mine said u shouldn't have more than four c-sections b/c they re-cut the same wound each time. good luck with everything!!

Hi and congrats! Just curious, are u opting for an elective c-section or is there a reason for it? I'm only at 20 weeks (as of today) and am curious to learn from those seeking electives...like as in their reasoning, mostly. I hear horror stories of stretching out of proportion int he canal region and ripping...i have such a low pain threshold and don't want to distort my area. Maybe I'm just being selfish, but I was born a cesarean and I came out fine!
