Baby Chathum was born!!! 8 lb 11 oz at 3:33 pm. I went to the doctor that morning and it turns out that I developed preeclampsia sometime between last week's appointment and then. My doc came in and said she would like to go ahead and deliver (my C section was scheduled for 8/19) and it would probably be around 4 that afternoon. I was a little nervous but definitely excited!! No complications until AFTER he was born! He was perfect, but my blood pressure just kept getting higher, so it took almost a whole week in the hospital to get it regulated. That part was not fun, but every ache and pain and complaint was worth my little angel!!

Wednesday, 23 April Thank you for your message on my rambling Blog number 2! I am trying to stay positive and I am sure that if I am pregnant and if baby is ready then this time will be different, but sometimes logic and reason go out the window when it is something you really want! Hope that the next months fly by for you and that you and your DH can decide on patterns and furniture! BeansMom -
Wednesday, 23 April Your nursery colors sound gorgeous! Just what I wanted. But family has decided on a frog theme. Still cute. But yours sound lovely! newyearpresent -
Wednesday, 23 April I know you already read all the info on breastfeeding vs. formula. I nursed my first son for 22 months. Don't do this!!!!! I felt like a lactation machine, no life, no energy. I lost all the weight though by the time he was 9 month old. He is very healthy and although I hated every minute of nursing, I did it because it was the best food source for my baby. After about a month, you really don't feel any discomfort at all. The first 2 weeks were painful for the first few seconds, then it was fine. After 4 months it was just automatic. It's really great to pacify fussy babies, no matter what went wrong he was in the best mood during and after nursing. Hope this helps. In my opinion, try it, you can always quit! All formula fed babies turn out just fine! jesstew -
Tuesday, 22 April My opinion on feeding....I know they say breat milk is best, but I have not found that to be the case. I bottle fed at the same time my best friend breast fed both her girls.....they are sick all the time, on antibiotics all the time, etc. My daughter is healthy as heck. I think the decision comes down to your gut feeling/natural desire. I had and have no desire to breast feed or pump it out . But you are right....there is a lot of guilt that is placed on bottle feeding. maimmie -
Tuesday, 22 April Hey I just read your comment on breast feeding vs. Bottle feeding and I couldnt agree more! I'm so tired of people trying to guilt me into breast feeding when I say I dont think I'm comfortable with the idea. I dont think how we choose to feed our baby should reflect on the kind of mother we will be. For me the decision is partly about allowing my husband to bond with the baby through feeding aswell. I was planning on pumping so my baby will be getting the advantage of breast milk. I just dont want to be soley resposible for the feeding. p.smith -
