Nico bear...Hope it all went well at ole Good Samaritin and that you were treated well and relatively pain free. Have a fabulous time with your new baby, it has been the best experience I have ever had to have my first one, so I imagine this next one will be double the fun. Just to let you know I am thinking of you and I surely hope that by now at 8:27 pm it is all behind you now. Renee

Hello!!! I'm so excited for you tomorrow is our big day!!! Don't worry I am a bit scared too. Its been 14yrs since my last c-section so things have changed but I had a spinal with my first one and I'm supposed to have the same with this one. I just got back fro the hospital I had to have some blood work done. They will put an IV in and hook you up to the monitors to monitor the baby...they will do an cathader into your bladder which I think is more uncomfortable than anything...the spinal is not fun its painful but once thats done you won't feel any pain...I felt sensations but nothing that would be considered pain cause trust me I am a wussy too. I'm a bit scared also now that its tomorrow I'm really anxious. I got the shakes real bad when I had my first one but I think thats normal I've heard a lot of women say the same thing...but really don't let yourself worry over this think of your new baby and how happy you will be once he gets there...I wish you the best of luck!!!! Amy

Kaiser San Fransico is supposed to be the best hospital around for makin babies, they also have a neo natal high end emergency section for babies with problems, I imagine Good Samaritan will be a great choice as well. I went to Valejo Kaiser last time and I was not pleased, I imagine I will not be pleased at Kaiser SF either, but that is my nature, to not be pleased with just about everything. Best of luck with your little boy!!! Renee

Hi Nico bear, I had a c section and I am going to get another. I had an epidural last time and I am going to ask for one again, I did research on-line re spinals and I don't want one, almost everyone gets a nasty head ache, dr.s like em bcz it gets you down faster than an epidural, I also got an impression that you can feel the needdle crunch into your back but I just read Ali's birth story and she said she felt crunching in her back with an epidural. I don't remember it. I didn't feel anything when they did the c section at all, but I think after the baby was born there was some pretty nasty pressure when they were delivering the placenta, also after the baby was born, I got the serious shakes, which were involuntary spasms from being cold from the inside out, that was nasty too bcz it was embarracing, but I am told everyone gets them, The woerst thing about a c section is having to have an IV and then having all the fluid pumped into you and bloating way up worse then the swelling now and it lasted a while, also you lose your mobility for a while and do not fully recover for 1 1/2 months, (and then it is not full recovery) so it has it's down sides, but it is not painful while you are in it. At Kaiser, they take your baby away from you while you are in the recovery room, so that sucks too. Are you a Kaiser patient? (I am in Marin) Renee
