A BIT ABOUT ME!

hello everyone, thanks for looking at my page, my name is Nicola, i am 21 years old and have been married for 4 years. Aaron and i first got together when we where at school we met when i was 15, we hardly ever got to see one another. I have never got on with my dad or my sister, and my dad made it near impossible for us to be together. Aaron tried phoning my dad to see if there was any chance of us getting to see each other more and my dad told him to f**k off, we where both really upset and we knew we both loved each other. in October 2003 we had decided that we had enough, when i was on my way to college, (or so my parents thought) i went and got married to my husband. i do sometimes regret doing it the way i did, but felt i had no option. we knew we wanted to be together and knew we wanted to share our life with each other. the night that we got married, i phoned my dad, and told him that i was not coming home and that i had married Aaron. he told me to stop being stupid and get home now. i have not seen or spoken to my dad since then. my mum still talks but wont talk to Aaron. my granny and granda also talks to me and they also talk to Aaron. i have not seen my sister is about 2 years, last time i spoke to her she just slagged me off and told me that i had put on a lot of weight etc. she was just really horrible to me. Aaron's parents understood us both, they understand why we got married, they even helped plan it. This is my first time getting pregnant so the whole experience is completely new to me. i have not told my parents yet, but Aaron's parents are so happy for us and fully support us. i think i am about 12 weeks pregnant, i went to the doctor when i was about 6 weeks pregnant and got a blood test to confirm that i was pregnant, when it came back positive the doctor just gave me a number to phone to book an appointment for my scan. i still have not had my a scan or seen a midwife, my first scan is booked for the 16th January, after my scan i am ment to book an appointment with the midwife. i am a bit scared about the scan in case there is no baby inside.

i will update this gain once i have had my scan.

x

09 January 2008

i think i have been getting a head of myself, i have been looking at baby names today, i know I'm a bit early to be thinking about names considering that i have not even had my first scan yet, but i am getting a bit excited.. here are the names which i am thinking about. the ones in bold are the ones my husband likes. feel free to comment on the names

This is my baby at 12 weeks and 2 days. i cant beleve how clear it is, you can see facial features and feet and arms. it is soo amazing.

16 January 2008

i have just had my first Ultrasound today, i thought i was 13 weeks pregnant but it turns out i am only 12 weeks and 2 days. due to this change my due date has changed to the 28th July 2008. during the ultrasound, the baby kept sticking its bum up at us, and on the second picture, it is waving at us. i have the midwife appointment tomorrow at 7pm. and i have my next ultrasound booked for the 12 March 2008. x

08 March 2008

thought i better give an update. i am now wearing maternity clothes. i have felt the baby for a while now and we can now see it from the outside. it is so amazing. my husband put his head on my bump and the baby kicked his face. lol.

we have both decided on names, we will not be finding out if it is a boy or girl as they do not tell you in Scotland here is the names that we have decided on:

Boy: Paul Nicholas Chamberlain
Girl: Emily Linda Chamberlain

i will add bump pictures on next week also i will add my 20 week scan when i get it on the 12 March. x

Message to all This may be interesting to some of you. Seema`s email is seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

Hi there,

I work for a television production company based in the UK . We are currently making a documentary for ITV1 exploring the issues surrounding pregnancy and eating disorders. The film will be a thoughtful and insightful look into this extremely sensitive subject.

We’re in the research stage of our production and very keen to chat to women who are, or have been, pregnant whilst having an eating disorder.

If you’re interested in having a chat or finding out more about our documentary, it would be really great to hear from you. All communication would be in complete confidence.

You can contact me on: seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

wow, Just read how you married your husband it's really sad your parents aren't more supportive maybe when the baby is born they will change. I have seen my parents for years for one reason and another and it's times like this you need somebody around. Luckily my other half has a really big family who are wonderful. Hope all goes well XX

You look big for 20 weeks since this is your first. It usually takes first-timers longer to start showing. But you look great. About the same size as me, but this is 2nd for me.

Hello! I too have had difficulty sleeping which seems like the entire pregnancy. I bout an expensive pregnancy c shaped pillow, but doesn't seem to help. I am a back sleeper so I asked my doctor about it and she said that it is still fine to sleep on my back as long as I sleep with a pillow under me so I am not exactly flat. She said it is around week 26 when I will have to sleep on my side. She also added that it is just part of being pregnant!! Good luck.

billybump - Monday, 25 Feb
Hi Nicola How are you. I had difficuly getting comfy so went a bought a cheese wedge shaped maternity pillow and it is so much better and you get a good nights sleep with the wedge under your side and stomach.

Hi Nicola,
You've really been through the mill with your family. Its great to hear you are in a loving relationship with your husband. Pregnancy hormones can make you feel a little up and down - are you sleeping ok? Lack of sleep always makes me feel more sensitive. Anyway - if you want to ask anything give me a shout, this is my second pregnancy and im from the UK too!

MelisaK - Friday, 15 Feb
I am ok this week but 2 weeks ago I was very depressed. No reason for it...I guess it is just hormones. This week I just get aggravated with everybody! It doesn't help that my butt is outgrowing my belly!!! LOL Hope you get to feeling better!

billybump - Tuesday, 12 Feb
Really, I didn't know that! I was asked yesterday if I wanted to know as the sonographer knew what it was! It was so tempting but don't want to ruin the surprise. I bet we have the same sex.

billybump - Tuesday, 12 Feb
I knwo it is a bit spokky I wonder if we will have the same sex and that is why we are similar.... Are you going to find out?

billybump - Tuesday, 12 Feb
Same as what happened to me (read my page) Are you slim? Because they sit higher if you are slim that is all, nothing to worry about. x

apreece - Tuesday, 12 Feb
Thanks for the update! My belly feels better this morning. It feels like it grew overnight though.

faithmarie - Tuesday, 12 Feb
Hi there. A few days ago I had sharp pain below my belly button all through my uterus area - hours later I realized it was gas. The lovely parts of pregnancy :) I have also had headaches so far in the second trimester - just slight but fairly constant. Congrats overall on your marriage and pregnancy! I read your story and I say it is great that at least your hubby's family is supportive. Hopefully your family will come around - or they are going to miss out!

apreece - Monday, 11 Feb
I have been having pain around my belly button and Left side too. Let me know what the midwife says. Thanks!

MommaD - Saturday, 2 Feb
You don't have to wear long shirts. It just looks like you have an undershirt or a tank under your clothes. And the layered look is in :D

hayleyredfern - Saturday, 2 Feb
Yeah should be able to hear the heartbeat soon.
When do you go for your next scan and are you going to find out what your having? x

george - Saturday, 2 Feb
I just got some belly bands. I don't quite need them yet, but have heard from lots of friends they are life savers. Particularly with low rise jeans!

hayleyredfern - Friday, 1 Feb
Hi,
My doppler arrived today, and I can hear it kicking, I can't hear its heartbeat only mine but it says on the box that I wont be able to hear its heartbeat until 21 weeks but I can hear it move about. Really weird. x

MommaD - Friday, 1 Feb
Get you a bella band or belly sleeve. It allows you to hear your pre-pregnancy pants for a little longer. I bought two of them and love them. I wear it with jeans or dress pants for work. It can also be used to keep you maternity clothes up until you fill them out.
