pregnancy

I am a first time mommy, and am married to the most wonderful person I've ever met. I am terrified because i am leaving my home to move with my husband who is in the Air Force. We are moving all the way to Alaska from California. I have to leave my family but him and i are making our family so its the right thing to do..

Dec. 18th
My pregnancy so far has had its ups and downs.. In the beginning i had the implantation bleeding, we went straight to the E.R. and couldn't see a heartbeat.. the doctors figured the baby was just still so small..and the doctors had to take blood from me about every other day to check my HCG's..Finally afrter 2 weeks of anxiety we saw the heartbeat! It was so relieving and the happiest day of my life up till that point..

March 25th
At about 19.5 weeks pregnant we had our mid-pregnancy ultrasound.. he was being stubbourn and we couldnt really see the parts of the head that we needed t oo. But my wishes came true it was a little boy! My husband was soo excited!
Then the phonecall came. The technician said we needed to go to a specialist because my son's ventricles looked like they were enlarged a few millimeters over normal range. Which could mean a number of things. Then another doctor called me and said there was cysts! This was especially hard on my husband since he had recently lost his mother to cancer. But the good news, the AFP tests all came back to 1 in 10,000 so the numbers for any chromosonal disorders were so minimal that they said an amnio was definetely not recommended. So another few stressful days went by and we had to drive an hour to a specialist to find out what was going on with our little boy.. I think the hardest part of this all right now is my husband isnt with me he is already in Alaska so its been pretty lonely..

April 1st
The ultrasound showed the previous findings were not even there! They said the technician definetely measured wrong and in the cysts matter, they had read the wrong report! Go figure! The ventricles in his brain were WELL WITHIN normal limits.. But my son did have a slight difference, he had a dangling choroid. The doctor and 2 specialists said that its definetely not something to worry about because a dangling choroid with normal sized ventricles means that its just a normal variant and I will be fine. They recommended I come back in 2 weeks just to make sure that the ventricles have stayed within normal range.

April 3rd
I was hit by a car! I was walking my dog and some lady backed into me! It was horrible.. my back and hips hurt because the fall i took to the ground. She didnt even give me the right information and she just left me! So i went to the E.R. and the heartbeat was fine, and an ultrasound showed my lil guy was holding on just fine there was no problems or abnormal leakage but they did hook me up to a machine to make sure i was not having any contractions..

April 11th
On the way to the ultrasound i was so nervous! I had stopped worrying about it so much and just trying to realize everything was happening for a reason. I came to the conclusion that I was keeping my son regardless of the findings. At first i pleaded and prayed to God telling him if my son was ok I would have a natural childbirth (lol, i said this because both my husband, his brothers, and my father was over 13lbs) but then finally I just surrended and said its not in my hands anymore. The 2 hours spent there and then the doctor came in smiling and said although his choroid is still dangling, its just a little difference with my lil man. And that his ventricles are still the same size.. I have never had a moment where I have felt joy and love like this before.

Now i am just mad that i dont feel him moving as much as i usually do. I felt him so good for a few days and then barely nothing.. But I need to stop stressing! My lil one is just stubborn..

In 6 and a half days I will be leaving my family to go be with my husband. I have grown so much since he's seen me last and I am so excited to be around him!

April 14th
So on saturday night I had to go to labor and delivery. My son still hadn't moved as much as he was before. So wen talking to the advice nurse i drank ice cold water and i didnt really feel him in an hour time period. So i went in. They hooked me up to a monitor to hear his heartbeat which sounded good and normal! That was awesome. Then they did a quick ultrasoun and right before they start i felt him move quite a bit. STUBBORN LITTLE THING! just like his daddy! Then when they started the ultrasound he was moving alot! but i didnt feel him. He was stretching his legs and bending them.. and moving his hands all around. I guess its true, even after you start feeling your kid but your not TOO far along yet there are just time your not going to feel your baby because of the position he or she may be in..
Well only 5 more days to go until im with my husband in our new house!! And we bought a little chocolate labrador puppy=] my husband had one as a kid and he swears by them as being great family dogs.. The breeder has a baby and all the dogs are wonderful and very protective over their child.. So thats good news!

April 15th
So i went to the DR's and my BP is high..
I am so scared..

Charleston, South Carolina. Its good to be back home but my mom is driving me nuts. When hubby leaves Texas and we can go to the next base I'll be very happy. :-)

How are you making out??

Jadedpoet - Friday, 16 May
Sorry forgot to add haha.
Pregnancy is going well, my appetite that had picked up some at 5 months is beginning to drop again. My stomach just feels so uncomfortably full after a small meal and don't let me drink water afterwards. LMAO!!
I feel good though, emotional at times but good. :-)

No the kicks are the only thing that can hurt , it's mainly when she keeps aiming for the same spot for hours. Also as of recently she seems to ram my belly like she's bracing herself to kick down a door LOL. The stretches don't hurt though only feel slightly uncomfortable. It is an unusual feeling and cool at the same time. :-)

I replied to your stretching post in the 26 week forum. :-)

I read your post about the "stretching" feeling the baby makes as opposed to kicking and fluttering. I am almost 30 weeks and this sounds right to me. In fact, when I lay on my side, I will feel him move from both my left and right side at the same time and assume that this is him streching out. A cool thing for you to look forward to is when you actually start noticing elbows and feet (and sometimes a butt!) poking out. It looks just like the picture at the top of the Fetal Movements forumn. Good luck with your pregnancy!

I'm 24+6 and really only started feeling kicks a few weeks ago. I had alot of fluttering before then but not proper kicks. An anterior placenta greatly affects how much movement you feel so try not to worry too much. Just take some time out to go and have a lie down and lie on your side. Sometimes I find resting something on my bump makes it move, like a book or something. It tries to kick it off!

I'm basicallly the same weights as you and I have days where I dont feel my baby much. He is still in the breech position and on my US last Monday he was facing the placenta. I went to get monitored because I didnt really feel him for about 2 days after he had been really active for weeks and he was registering a lot of movement on the equipment that I COULD NOT feel. So now on his 'lazy days' I try to just chill out, even though it's VERY hard....as long as I feel a bit of movement during the day I dont feak out :)

I am now 30 weeks and still don't feel much more than flutters. Some days nothing at all. I guess he is just laid back! It does worry me all the time though. My other 3 pregnancies were over 20 years ago but I remember their moving and squirming.

carlybarleyx - Tuesday, 13 May
Hi I was just reading your post about baby moving and mines exactly the same! Some days I feel it lots, and others I hardly feel it at all and get really worried. Do you know the position of your placenta? Because mine is anterior which means its lying in front of the baby and cushions alot of the movements, so it depends on where the baby is alot of the time. When its high up I feel it alot but when it goes back down low I dont feel it so much. On the days I dont feel it I take 10 minutes out and go and lie down on my side in the quiet with a big glass of very cold water and prod my bump until the baby moves! Sometimes just rubbing it makes it move and it usually responds to my voice. Try eating some chocolate too.

Sometimes you won't feel the baby moving b/c they aren't ...like when they are sleeping. Just think when the baby comes out how much they sleep. The baby is growing very fast so you know it has to be sleeping. As long as you don't go for like say a month without feeling the baby then it should be ok.
