Miss Heather Olivia Colleran

*Birth Story*

After a very scary week of Heathers heart decelerating, my doctor decided to induce on my due date. I went into the hospital at 8:00 am, and just before the doctor inserted the Cervidil, my water broke! Heathers heart decel'd again, so they wanted to speed things up and get the contractions going, so the Cervidil was inserted anyway. At 10:00 my contractions were 5 minutes long, 1 minute apart, and i was SCREAMING. I got a shot of morphine and an epidural. well the epidural only froze my boobs, so they re-did it, but this time they gave me way too much! i was on cloud nine, i was so spacey, it was a dream. the next part of labour i don't remember, but Heathers heart crashed again down to 50 bpm and i was getting set up for an emergancy c-section, but they gave me some more medicine (nitro-gylercine) and after 10 minutes her heart rate came back up again. by 12 p.m i was fully dialated, but little Heather was face up, so they gave me some pitocin to increase the contractions. By 5:00 p.m she had turned around, and it was time to push! I pushed for 2 1/2 hours, and at 7:47 miss Heather Olivia was here! i broke into tears at her first cry. they plopped her right on my chest and she looked into my eyes and i was in love. my life truly started at that moment.

i'll post more photos soon. she's not fussy, but HATES getting dressed, having her diapers changed, and being put down. she LOVES to cuddle, putting her whole fist in her mouth, and covering her eyes with her hands. she has the biggest blue eyes i have ever seen. xox

*MY HEART*

well it's been 2 months now, and i can't believe how much my little Heather has changed! i have a very spirited baby on my hands! what an amazing personality she has; i'm sure she'll run before she walks! Heather has already held her own bottle a few times now, and gets very upset when mommy holds it for her! She still loves being held, but shes starting to become a little more independant. i'm sad to say that mommy is already "old news" in her eyes, lol. she LOVES being naked, which is a huge change, and shame on anyone for taking her out of her tub! Heather is very set in her routine; if she doesn't get to listen to her music before naptime, all hell breaks loose! her favorite music is The Beatles, but i must say that's not really her choice :)

For as much as i complained about being pregnant, i really do miss it. She's only 9 weeks, but i'm already seeing her as a little girl, teenager, adult. as much as she loves me, someday soon she won't need me anymore. i really do cherish this time with her; caring for this little wonder.

She has her mommys eyes, and fathers spirit.

If i had to sum up what it's like to be a parent, i guess i would say this:

Less sleep, More dreams
