BELOW EMOGENE 1 DAY OLD....
BELOW EMOGENE IS 4 WEEKS OLD AND ALREADY HAS ME WRAPPED AROUND HER WEE FINGER....
IM OVER 
THE MOON IM PREGNANT ONLY AT THE EARLY STAGES BUT I KNOW EVERY MINUTE OF THIS PREGNANCY WILL BE WORTH IT IN THE END. I WILL KEEP THINKING POSITIVE AND HAPPY THOUGHTS. 
IM NOT BOTHERED WHAT SEX THE BABY IS JUST AS LONG AS ITS HEALTHY, I HAD A MISCARRIAGE NEARLY A YEAR AGO AND I WAS ABOUT FIVE WEEKS THEN I DO STILL WORRY THE SAME IS POSSIBLE OF HAPPENING AGAIN. IF ITS MEANT TO BE IT WILL BE. SO JUST BEFORE I FOUND OUT I WAS PREGNANT I STOPPED SMOKING AND CUT EVERYTHING OUT OF MY DIET THAT I SHOULDNT BE TAKING.... AND I MISS MAYO AND COKE THE MOST.
MY APPOINTMENT TO SEE THE MIDWIFE IS ON THE 21/03/2007 AS I WENT TO THE DOCTORS YESTERDAY.... MONDAY IT CONFIRMED I WAS PREGNANT AT THE TREATMENT ROOM BUT HAD NEARLY A WEEK TO WAIT TO SEE THE DOCTOR. NOW I REALLY JUST NEED TO RELAX AND TAKE IT EASY.

Im 6 weeks and 2 days pregnant
I was sick this morning after breakfast for the first and when it came to eating my dinner i felt so turned... and it was a chinese, i really did push myself. The notion of eating and the smell of food puts me off. I had to throw leeks out of my fridge last night as they where making me feel ill. So yeah i do feel YUK!

At the minute i am living on crackers and sandwiches. I tolerate cold drinks better than heated drinks. I look forward to when i stop feeling and being sick, coz i dont feel like going anywhere or doing anything when im like this.

I will be 8 weeks tomorrow and i havent been sick in a while (THANK GOODNESS) the smell of certain foods still turn me and im still feeling sick but as long as i hold my food down i aint worrying. I find my clothes are starting to get tight as i have put on a bigger belly than i had. I think i am going to end up massive, but sure i can lose it all after the babys born. I am getting very excited about my very first appointment on Wednesday, but i cant be content until i get a scan so fingers crossed i get a scan this week coming otherwise i have to wait until im about 12 weeks or over, which really seems like ages away.

What was i saying about sickness, i spent most of the day being sick and really felt crap. I thought i was by the worst but obviously not, i must have spoken too soon. About ten minutes after i had breakfast i brought it back up and so every little smell was turning me. I was sick again at dinner time so i had a late dinner last night. Yuk! Feeling rotten

I went for my first appointment to the midwife... all seems to be well. The doctor done a scan and showed me the womb and where the baby was. There wasnt much to see as he said its too soon to see a developed baby. What i did see was our baby blob and i go back in 4 weeks time for another appointment. I am still feeling rough but now i know it will be worth it in the end.

I have started to get a sore back... cant understand why, this was the very first pregnancy symptom i started to get before i knew i was pregnant. I havent been lifting heavy things or anything and have been taking it easy... if anyone else can relate to me then drop me a comment please to set my mind at ease. Im 10 weeks & 2 days pregnant.

WOW..............
I am 11 weeks 2day and am pleased as it wont be long now until im into the 2nd trimester, im so excited and am so tired but cant sleep - last week was a bad week for me as far as sickness goes... but they say the worse you feel the healthier the baby, and i do hope so. My next appointment with the midwife is on the 18/04 so i just have to sit tight and wait, although im waiting on a letter coming through the door any day now for my first big appointment at the hospital.... so im getting anxious waiting. I know there will be no post at the start of the week because of easter, but i might get post today.

Im so very happy. I am now into my 12th week of being pregnant, this past 3 days i have felt great... so im eating properly and all now Long may it last! I have noticed my teeth bleed quite abit and constipation is bad again, so i may make an appointment to see the dentist soon. Midwife appointment is on wednesday and i will keep you all posted. No bump as yet just a deposit of fat at the front.

18/04/2007 Had my 2nd appointment with the midwife today she tested my urine and checked my blood pressure, i was pleased as she used the doppler and i got to hear the heart beat for the first time.... it put a big smile on my face, she said there was plenty of movement in there so thats a good sign. I mentioned i was getting a sore back and out of breath she said it was nothing to worry about. All appears to be well. My next midwife appointment is on the 30/05/2007 and i should get my hospital appointment well before then..... Sick again after dinner, i think it has alot to do with early mornings |

13 Weeks & 6 Days
Finally i got my letter for my first hospital appointment, its for the 16/05/2007 by that time i will be almost 17 weeks it seems pretty late for a first appointment but sure i can try to relax abit now, well for a couple of weeks anyway. I look forward to seeing my 1st proper ultrasound scan.... keep you all informed on how it goes, by the way im still being sick and i just hope it subsides soon. I will be 14 weeks pregnant tomorrow and i am feeling massive, but with me still being sick according to my scales i have only put on 2lbs from i was last weighed by the midwife at 8 weeks pregnant.... everyone thinks its a boy and im convinced but i dont really mind, will have to see if there predictions are correct.

15 Weeks & 4 Days
Its a week until i go to the hospital for my first visit.... cant wait to get scanned and see the baby as i havent yet seen it formed, the last scan i got was at about 8 weeks and at that stage it just came up a blob on the scanner. Hopefully all is well, then 2 weeks from today i go to see the consultant.... Roll on next week.

First flutters this week wow! description a little tickle about my belly but started off around left and right side low down. Cant wait until the baby starts to give me a kick, that will be excellent. No sickness this week wow!
Got scanned today... first hospital appointment the baby measures 2 days ahead of what i initially thought... I am so very happy. All appears to be well and the baby was doing loads of moving about at the time of scan. Scan photo is to follow:-)

Went to see the consultant today 23/05/2007 - Im 17 weeks and 6 days pregnant....he just done another quick scan and pressed around to feel where the fundus was... listened to my heartbeat and that was it so over a 1 hour wait for 5 minutes. I go for my big scan on the 19/06/2007 - which will be my 20 week scan and then again on the 19/09/2007 for my final hospital appointment. Apart from having back pain and heartburn all is well.

Got my file back and my blood results... 3 of which are slightly low but it obviously isnt a big concern as they hadnt said it was a problem. I guess thats why im still feeling quite tired. I will discuss it with the midwife at my next appointment if i feel no better.
07/06/2007 - 20 Weeks today
I am so pleased to have gotten this far in pregnancy... half way until i meet this little swimmer... still feeling the occassional flutter but nothing is constant. I go for my big 20 week scan on the 19th June and im really looking forward, you get so much reassurance by seeing the baby when scanned. I am so so happy xxx

A week today until we find out what gender the baby is, we are both quite excited about knowing. I love it either way, it already has a special place in my heart and i know Gareth feels the same way. I feel we are blessed to have a child of our own as many people cant, we are very fortunate... a quick update - im getting heartburn on a daily basis but although i moan about it, i wouldnt change this pregnancy for the world.

18/06/2007 - Im 21 Weeks & 4 Days pregnant
I felt the babys first proper movement this evening whether it was a kick, punch or sommersault im not too sure... but it was strong, alot stronger than what i had been feeling. Im pleased that he or she is starting to get strong. Big ultrasound tomorrow, check all the babys organs and will hopefully tell us baby Patterson gender.
19/06/2007 - Im 21 Weeks & 5 days pregnant
We went for the 20 week scan today and all went well, the baby is very healthy... we did ask what gender the baby was and when she had a look she said im not 100% but pointed out the girl area sooooo - we are having a baby GIRL.... we are both very excited and happy shes 100% healthy.

22 weeks & 5 days pregnant - I seen my belly move for the first time last night, it was so quick and my hubby missed it because it only moved a couple of times and that was it. Our little princess is getting some power behind her... im now loving the whole pregnancy experience, when you feel her it makes it so real.... cant wait until that hubby of mine feels her movements too. x

19/09/2007 – Im 34 Weeks & 6 Days pregnant
Hospital appointment today and baby weighs approx 6lbs 4oz, got bloods taken and a scan done… baby seems to be well, if I haven’t gone into labour by the 31st October I go back to the hospital for an internal and failing that I get a date to be induced.
20/09/2007 – Im 35 Weeks pregnant
A car reversed into the side of my car, all I could think of was my baby – didn’t feel baby movements overnight so I phoned up to the delivery suite and they told me to come on up… they decided to keep me in for observations incase there was a bleed behind the placenta but all is ok so I got to go home on Friday afternoon… just relieved baby is ok.
03/10/2007 – Im 36 Weeks & 6 Days pregnant
Was with the midwife today and now im down every week until baby comes… she done a liver function test as I mentioned I have been very itchy the past couple of weeks and apparently in pregnancy you can develop some liver problem or it could just possibly be hormones… get results on Monday.

Was at my midwife appointment today my liver function test has been redone because it came back slightly high so ive just to wait on results, doctor wants to double check - if i am to have the liver problem called Obstetric Cholestasis then i will be induced so lets hope all is ok, baby is starting to move down and im so tired...
15/10/2007 - Im 38 Weeks & 4 Days pregnant
Didnt have a great nights sleep - had really bad heartburn from 4am this morning... just after getting a letter from my local health centre and the doctor wants me to repeat the liver function test again this Wednesday as my results are improving but he wants to monitor them.
21/10/2007 - Im 39 Weeks & 3 Days pregnant
My liver function test results still arent the norm but the doctor wants me to repeat it again in 2 weeks time... obviously the baby isnt at risk otherwise he would have me in hospital. When i was with the midwife on Wednesday past she said the babys head is now engaged - was experiencing sharp pains at my right side and when passing urine but it doesnt seem to be as bad today.... it wont be long until baby Emogene makes her big entrance and i finally feel im ready.
27/10/2007 - Im 40 weeks pregnant
28/10/2007 - I am now overdue but have been experiencing cramps now and again but nothing constant - baby is quite active from 8pm onwards, so its reassuring that shes fine.... i look like im about to burst but this wee angel will come in her own time - im back at hospital on Wednesday to get an internal and failing that i shall be given a date to be induced.

Just home from the hospital and im going in today between 3 and 4pm - the midwife couldnt do a sweep as im already 2 and a half cms dilated and 20% effaced... i was awake from 3am with cramping and back pain but im being taken in today due to lfts being high and they it was either today or next Tuesday. If theres no progress by tonight then i will be given a gel to progress the labour and baby should be with me by tomorrow. So all being well both mummy and baby should be home by Saturday....

I WAS 3CMS DILATED AT 7PM IN HOSPITAL PAIN COMING NOW AND AGAIN - I WAS SENT TO THE DELIVERY SUITE AT 8PM AND THE DOCTOR BROKE MY WATERS ... AS I WAS BEING INDUCED THEY PUT A DRIP UP TO SPEED UP THE CONTRACTIONS - SHORTLY AFTER I WAS GETTING BACK PAIN AND PAIN IN MY LEGS - PAIN RELIEF USED GAS AND AIR ONLY... AT 11:30PM I WAS 4CMS DILATED AND AT 1:45AM I GOT PUSHING PAINS - AT 2AM BABY EMOGENE HAD ARRIVED....
SHES SO LOVABLE AND I WILL UPDATE WITH PICTURES SOON - SHE IS VERY DEMANDING AND HAS HER DAYS AND NIGHTS MIXED UP - I AM BREAST FEEDING SO ITS EVERY HOUR ON THE HOUR.... AND I AM SO SO TIRED... ITS HARD WORK BUT ALL WELL WORTH IT.

oh hun there is nothing worse than losing nights sleeps in your condition its knackering enough as it is!good luck 4 sweet dreams tonight! i sympathise i really do!...... try and get as much info from the hospital when u go you will feel much better. i was useless at remembering questions to ask when i went and i regretted it after! yes we are coping quite well, it is a change there is no denying that and there are moments when u think o my gawd! but then you look at their little trusting faces and its all worthwhile, Dave loves it..he might take a couple of extra nudges when he says he will change her nappy at 4am..but he does it happily! bet your man is excited too? its an unbelievable surreal experience!

Might be a little graphic but its where you stretch and massage the skin from your vagina then back towards your butt lol. Its supposed to reduce the need for an episiotomy or tearing. If you type it into google you can see what it entails and how to do it and if its for you or not. Hopefully it works! I'm hoping that I can just keep a positive attitude during labor. If we can do that we can make it through no matter what!

I took a labor and delivery class which had a lot of helpful information and they went over some breathing techniques which is good because I won't be able to have an epidural. The doctor said that since I'm on blood thinners the epidural is out! So, I'm trying to mentally prep myself for the pain. I'm so nervous too! Have you heard of or tried perineum massage yet? They say you can start it at 34 weeks so thats what I've been doing, its supposed to help you not to tear or tear less. Its a little uncomfortable but its supposed to be and I'm hoping that will help me out a bit!

mog i got stretch marks too not the red bad ones but still they are there. they will def fade so don't stress lol. we are doing good i can't beleive she is already 3 months old lol. times flies huh ?? how are you feeling ??

Well sounds like you have everything planned out :). We plan to name our girl Chandleir Richelle. I noticed you wrote that you stopped smoking for your baby! Thats awesome! I did the same thing, but thankfully for me it was soo easy cause when i got pregnant cigarettes started making me throw up, so i have NOT been tempted to smoke again whatsoever haha. Was it hard or easy for u?

hi luv i know 2 weeks already! we are going to get her registered tomorrow bless her!! you will make a great mammy i am sure you will! i feel the same , i dont want to let her down at all. i dont know why the midwife would ask you that? ,maybe to see if she thinks the head is engaging or something? my midwifes were pretty crap all the way through so no-one asked me that, the midwife i had for the birth was brilliant thank gawd! i was really lucky. your little one will be here soon, all u can do is hang in there for the last few weeks and try and take it as easy as u can the time will fly one min and drag the next but it will all be worth it and seem like it took u 2 mins to get there when you hold your little one! xxxx

omg i used that palmers cream too and i still got stretch marks !! i heard that they are hereditary... my mom got scretch marks so i got them and everyone of my sisters weill prolly get them too. keep me updated !! i'll ttyl!

Hey Niki, its mad how time flys aint it??? Your little one will be with you sooner than you know it, make the most of peace & quiet coz as soon as she is here lifes never the same again!!! I would say it took me about 10 weeks to get used to having Jude, me & Chris argued constantly & i found stuff like going shopping really hard but now its all easy peasy, you easily slip into a routine. Jude is teething at the mo bless him, he had his first temperature yesterday & spent all day sobbing. I love him so much it hurts!! Dont stress about the birth they say if you go into it with a positive attitude its a better experience, shes gotta come out some way so stop crapping it ha ha xxxxxx

Its scary to think about it but its surprisingly not that scary at the time because your so determined on getting it over!! 20 hours was a long time but its amazing how quiclkly it went by so i hope its quick for you too. i absolutely love being a mummy, cant imagine my life without him now! he is a very good baby doesnt cry in the night but makes funny noises to let me know he's awake and wants fed. Im breastfeeding and i didnt think id last this long at it so im quite proud of myself, haha.

Yea baby showers are pretty cool. Its kinda weird that one is being thrown for me because usually i am a guest at others showers. lol. Hows your pregnancy been going lately? Mine is so so. My feet are hurting and swollen because i walk on them all the time so today i have just been taking it easy.

i know exactly what you mean about the whole sleeping thing..i can go to sleep okayy at night sometimes..but i ALWAYS wake up at least 5-10 times during the night..but lately i cant go to sleep because my back hurts like crazy !! and my doctor says there is nothing i can do..does that happend to you to?

Im not going to lie, it was hell, literally. 20 hours labour was hard work. All the way through my pregnancy i was adamant i would not have an epidural, after 18 hours of wanting to die to be free of the pain i caved in and took one, i couldnt have carried on without it so seriously consider one. its still sore with one, not pain free as i imagined. you cant feel the contraction but the urge to push is still there and lots of pressure. If your usin gas and air make sure u have lip balm, coz it dries out your lips and mine chapped. i could ramble on forever, any questions just ask lol xxx

I still have 16 weeks to go but I have EVERYTHING prepared.. no joke lol. I'm scared I'll miss something so the sooner I'm sorted the better I'll feel. I went for the Winnie the pooh range from toys r us... cot and all lol. I dont know the sex yet.. not allowed to find out in scotland , but I have my 4d scan on the 7th oct so I'll know then and will let ou know xxx

I still can't believe that our little ones will be here in 6 weeks...give or take! I'm not too stressed about the birth, but I know that as the day approaches my excitement is going to turn to fear and apprehension. Are you getting nervous? I know that everytime I get a stomach pain, I think 'hmm, contraction?' I still feel like I want to try without an epidural, but it's hard to say as I have no idea what the pain is like and how I'll be able to handle it. I'm not sure if we have the option of gas here...I'll have to ask the dr when we start talking about the pain relief options. I've lucked out so far with not getting any stretch marks on my belly, but they're on my boobs and butt..nice, lol. Are you feeling ok these days? My hips are getting sore from lying on them so much. I can't wait to sleep on my stomach and back again!

wow only 7 weeks, ive got 17 weeks to go. Luckily with both my boys they were born in 2 hours but i had to be induced as they were both so lazy and my first was 8 days late and my second 11 days, so i'm hoping this one either comes early or on time, its so stressful going over as you really feel tired and heavy. I'm sure you'll have the energy, dont know how but we muster it up from somewhere. I'm ok thanks got terrible back and hip ache constantly but i had spd with my second so i suppose i got it again.
