2-16-08 Today was a pretty normal day, besides the fact that I was busier than all heck in the morning. My daughter decided it was a good day to be completelty disrespectful and mean to mommy, so I started out in a crying fit of frustration. Some days I wonder what I'm doing wrong and why she listens to Eddie but not me. So anyway, after that lovely fall-out, I began scouring the kitchen and packing up more of our house. I got quite a bit accomplished, but between my bronchitis and my back pain, I was a mess by the middle of the day. It's really annoying when you're used to taking strong pain relievers for your bad back and all of a sudden all you can take is Tylenol. I hate it, it does nothing for me so hear I sit in constant pain and nothing to do for it. I don't know how much more I can take of this pain. My husband tells me not to over do it, but I don't have a choice when we're trying to move. I'm going to take it day by day until after we're moved and settled in. I'm hoping that after my bronchitis clears up, and the coughing subsides, my back will feel better. It felt 90% better before I got sick, so here's keeping my fingers crossed!
2-15-08: First day on here and still exploring everything! I had my 12 week check up yesterday and got to hear the heartbeat for the first time - 150 bpm! He said my uterus measures out to be a little ahead of schedule, so we'll see in about 8 more weeks when we have our first ultrasound. We could have opted to do an ultrasound around this time, but because it was a test for down syndrome, we chose not to because we had a scare with our first daughter and it was over nothing, so we don't want to go through that stress again, as much as I'd like to see the baby, the stress isn't worth it. Besides the pregnancy being normal and going smoothly, I have had many other side problems causing some stress to me. I suffered a back injury about a month ago, I now have laryngitis and bronchitis, and in the process of moving on March 1st. Too much for this mama right now! I'm happy to say I have the most wonderful husband who makes sure I'm taken care of and helps out in any way possible! Til next time..
2-27-08: It's been a little while since I've logged anything in here, but that's only because nothing too exciting has happened, other than being extremely busy getting everything ready for the move in two days. I've been feeling very pregnant the last few days and have been feeling more little "flutters" and weird movements in my tummy! I think my only complaint lately, except for the lovely bloated and fat feeling, would be the fact that my skin keeps breaking out!! Before getting pregnant, I never, ever, ever got zits and now the minute one disappears, another ones shows it's ugly face! GRRR! So, anyway, just a quick little update....the next time I write on here, I'll be sitting in my new, bigger house! YAY!!
3/17/08 Happy St. Patricks Day everyone! Last friday, the 14th, I went in for my 16 week check up and everything was stupendous! The heartbeat was a steady 145 bpm and all my normal worries were put away for another four weeks. It's like four weeks is too long to wait to know that everything is still ok. I think I'm more cautious and nervous with my second pregnancy than I was with my first...maybe that's because I didn't know what to expect with the first. Anyway, I go in tomorrow for my triple screen test, which I'm not looking forward to because I HATE needles, but it's worth it. My ultrasound (YAY) is scheduled for monday April 7th....exactly three weeks from today.....I'm so excited!! I've already decided if the baby doesn't cooperate and open his/her little legs, we're getting another u/s soon. So, here's hoping for our little girl!!! Oh by the way.....our new house is AWESOME....it's so peaceful and serene...and not to mention HUGE! See ya!
4/7/08 Delayed posting on this one....wow.....so our ultrasound was today and we had Dr Reimer.....he's something else that's for sure! He's a very nice doctor, but says some off the wall things! Everything looked happy and healthy with baby, but he/she was sitting indian style most of the time, so we weren't able to get a clear shot of the privates. The doctor was able to manuever around a little bit and finally got a shot and said.....IT'S A GIRL!!! Yeah!!!
7/28/08 Holy crap, I've been slacking on this journal thing! I don't know why, I guess maybe I felt like I didn't have much to say about everything. Pretty much the last few months have gone slowly by with no exciting news. Everything has been normal with the baby...heartrate has maintained, I've been measuring 2cm(2weeks) ahead, baby is as active as I think a baby can be! Sometimes I think she's doing tai kwon do in there or something! I went a couple Tuesday's ago for another bi-weekly check up and when Dr Bangs did the uterus measurements...he noticed that I was measuring 3-4 weeks ahead versus the 2 I had been the whole time. He measured me about 2 or 3 more times just to make sure and kept getting the same thing, so he wanted to do another u/s to check the fluid levels and baby measurements as a precaution. So this last Friday we went in for the u/s with Dr Beyer this time (phew) and, first off...we got definite reassurance that we are having a little girl! Adyson Sue Krenzelok!!! Everything else checked out perfectly fine, other than the fact that she is in a transverse position. This isn't as bad as being breech because the doc said she'll be easier to turn, so long as she keeps her long legs bent in rather than stretched out like she did during the u/s! So.....D-Day comes....this coming Tuesday I start my weekly check-ups and then on Wednesday I will be going into Labor/delivery at the hospital to get hooked up to all the fun machines to monitor me and Adyson, then Dr Beyer is going to do an external cypholic version to "turn" the baby into the downward position in hopes that she will stay there. There is a chance that I could go into labor that day, my water may break, or the baby may get distressed, so they will have everything ready to go for me that day! I'm getting more and more nervous about doing this, I just hope and pray that everything goes as planned and if she wants to come out, I pray that she's easy on mommy! :) I will try and remember to post another journal entry after Wednesday and let everyone know how things go! Here's hoping for our lil girl to come early and without the need of a c-section!!!
7/30/08 Today was the all mighty "turning" day! We went and checked into the hospital at 10:30am and got hooked up to the i.v. and fetal monitor and then began waiting for Dr. Beyer to come do the procedure....well an hour and a half passed and no doc....then we got news that he was hung up in surgery and would be another hour, so I had to hang tight. Mind you, I was not allowed to eat or drink anything the entire time....not even ice! I'm not a person who likes to lie on her back for very long so I started getting nauseous and uncomfortable. I was able to move to my side but I think most of us know how "comfy" those hospital beds can be! Baby Adyson was extremely active the entire time we were in there. I always said she hates them machines and anytime anything touches my belly...she kicks and punches at it! Finally, a little after 1pm, Dr Beyer came in and did the u/s....only to find out that the lil bugger had turned herself downward! That was good news! Bad news was her heartrate wasn't steady and kept fluctuating up and down, so I needed to stay longer to monitor that. Dr Beyer kept checking in on me, making sure she stayed head down and to assure that I wasn't dialating anymore. By about 3pm, her heartrate had mellowed out and maintained for at least 30 mins so I was told I could go home but to keep monitoring my fetal movements and my contractions. Today, has shown a great increase in my contractions becoming more steady, so the nurse and Dr Beyer felt she's getting ready to make her appearance sooner rather than later! So, anyway, I'm back home now...no baby for my birthday tomorrow, but that's ok! I have my next OB check up on Monday the 4th, so until then.....
7/31/08 HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!! AGGHHH I'm getting too old for this crap! LOL So this morning was the most interesting, scary, and crazy start to my birthday. I have to thank the heavens for my alarm clock, otherwise we wouldn't have been waking up when we did and would probably not be here right now. This morning, our alarm clock sounded and I could hear raindrops lightly hitting the air conditioner in our room, thinking it was about time we get some more rain, I just rolled over in bed and was trying to fall back asleep. My husband went outside for his morning cigarette and while he was standing out there, it started to rain extremely hard and the wind picked up like he was in a hurricane. As he was standing there, he saw our enormous pine tree in our front lawn snap off about 20 or more feet and coming crashing down into our house. He ran upstairs, freaking out telling me to come see the tree that just fell....I had heard it from the bedroom (which is right above where it hit), but thought it was just thunder. He ran back downstairs, as I was trying to get dressed and get my daughter out of bed, when he raced back upstairs screaming at us to get out of the house because the tree had snapped our main gas line that controls the pressure. Within seconds our house was filled with gas and you could actually see the gas coming out of the pipes, it was coming out at such a force.....anything could have sparked an explosion....and I couldn't find my damn pants!!! After I was finally able to find some clothes to put on, and after getting screamed at repeatedly by my husband, we finally got in our car and drove down the street and waited for the emergency crews to come. Luckily everyone was okay and nobody got hurt, except our tree and yard! After a few hours (and letting the house air out) we were able to go back in and get ready for the day...after all, it was my bday and I didn't want to be stuck without a shower! Right after the storm hit, there was a business jet coming in for a landing and it crashed and all eight people on board were killed....seriously when you think you have it bad, there is always somone else who has it worse. My heart goes out to their family members that were at home expecting them to return from their jobs that day. Later that day, we went to Rochester to go out to eat with all of my family and then went shopping for my new purse. I was exhausted by the time I got home and my head was still spinning from everything that happened this day!
8/1/08 Ok, so today was a little calmer, but last night I started having contractions around supper time that were about 15-20 mins apart and continued through the night. This morning they weren't as bad or as regular, but once I was up and started moving around for the day, they started up again. They are starting to feel really low in my pelvis area and they are not fun! I went about my day as normal and got my house cleaned up because I'm worried now that I don't want the house to be messy when I go into labor because I know my husband can't handle keeping it clean! LOL As I was about to go to bed, I went to the bathroom and when I wiped, I noticed a big clump of what looked like snot, but it had a really light brown tinge to it......ta da....there was my mucus plug! With all these contractions I'm having, it was about time I showed some more proof that I was starting to dialate.....I really can't wait til Monday's appt to see how much progress I have made....I'm hoping it's more than just a 2!
8/2/08 More contractions today, except these ones are lasting longer and they are getting a lot more regular. Still they are not close enough to go to the hospital...wait wait wait. I really wish it was like my first child and my water would just break so I knew...hey it's time to go to the hospital! I don't like this one bit!
8/5/08 Ok, so I had my weekly check up yesterday and all is going well....not saying we're making much progression as I would like, but at least she seems to be staying down where she's supposed to be. Dr Bangs was certain she has dropped and was able to feel her head when he checked for everything....which by the way I had only went from a one to a one 1/2-two. So, I'm preparing myself for another two weeks of being pregnant. We're all ready for her to come whenever, I just hope she doesn't come during the fair because I intend on doing a LOT of walking and eating next week! LOL Unless something new occurs, I will be back with updates after next Tuesday's appt.
8/11/08 Happy one year anniversary to my hubby and I! What a way for us to celebrate our first anniv together! We had plans to go out to eat and have my mom watch our daughter, well the baby had other plans for mommy....I had been feeling contractions all afternoon but nothing regular or too close together, but right before we were ready to go out to eat I noticed they were getting pretty close together and quite a bit stronger...but I was starving! LOL We went to the restaurant and ordered our food and by that time my contractions were about 3 mins apart...my husband finally said it's time to go and we headed up to the hospital. We got there and I got all hooked up once again, checked to see how dialated I was and.....still at a one and a half and not thinning out hardly. They kept me in there for two hours and then sent me home to get some rest. I go in tomorrow morning to see my doc, so here's to another day down and an anniversary put on hold!
8/19/08 Well today was my due date according to my u/s....Dr Bangs still likes to go by my original due date however, so technically I still have five days til Im due! (He says the 24th). Had my usual weekly check up today and not a whole lot was accomplished. I've been experiencing extreme pelvic pressure and cramping and I've been in so much pain, especially at night...I can't stand it anymore! Also, over the weekend my right foot decided to swell up to the size of a hobbit's foot. They were worried it was a blood clot, but turns out the baby is sitting off to my right side and she's more than likely cutting off a vein that pumps blood to that foot...lil bugger! Checked for dialation today and I'm happy to say that I'm at 3cm!! Dr was finally able to get up and strip the membranes now that I've thinned out quite a bit. We're all hoping and praying that it works this time and we wont' have to go back next Tues!!
