Message to all This may be interesting to some of you. Seema`s email is seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

Hi there,

I work for a television production company based in the UK . We are currently making a documentary for ITV1 exploring the issues surrounding pregnancy and eating disorders. The film will be a thoughtful and insightful look into this extremely sensitive subject.

We’re in the research stage of our production and very keen to chat to women who are, or have been, pregnant whilst having an eating disorder.

If you’re interested in having a chat or finding out more about our documentary, it would be really great to hear from you. All communication would be in complete confidence.

You can contact me on: seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

GRIPE WATER!!! The one i have is water, fennel oil and sodium bicarbonate...its brilliant....he usually starts to get fussy about a half hour to an hour after he eats, and half a teaspoon of gripe water later, he's sweet as can be...

I was using mylicon after each feed, and my pedi recommended I try mylicon before each feed cause it takes 15-20 min to work. It helped somewhat for a while and then my daughter went to the same screaming in pain again. So I changed bottles once again to the playtex drop in, I changed to similiac sensitive formula and now using using gripe water before each feed and she is so peaceful now, I never knew a baby could go without crying after feeding.. its unbelieveable!!

I tried Mylicon and it didn't work for me either!!! I think it is something we have to wait out. Babies don't know how to fart. The sqeezed their butts and hold it in which makes the process worse instead of what we do....leaning over to one side and pushing! Ha!! However, I have found that everytime I do a diaper change I do the bicycle motion with my little guy's legs and he usually farts its up. It also helps him poop.

Have you tried gripe water?

I give my baby 1/2 oz. of pear juice in one of his bottles every day. he poops every other day w/out a problem. w/out the juice, he was going every 3-4 days and was uncomfortable- grunting all the time.

My midwife suggested for constipation, boil 30mls of water, leave to cool, put into fridge and when ready to use,run under warm water to take the chill off but leave it reasonably cold otherwise lukewarm water does the same to them as it does to us,makes them gag and puke and then feed them the boiled water. You can do it in between feeds. My baby got constipated the other day, gave her some water,by the evening she had cleared the backlog.

About the peeling skin...lotion just prolongs the process of peeling. They have to get rid of the 'old skin' they were born with. The best thing to do is to bath them every day with a moisturizing baby wash, and gently scrub the areas affected with a wash cloth...the dry skin will be gone sooner that way.

MommyWonder - Monday, 1 September
I used baby lotion on my son right away and it was fine. The peeling is normal and by 3 weeks it went away
