Hi, i'm Nikola. I've been married to my husband Willy for nearly 7 yrs & we're expecting our 3rd child on Oct 15th & i can't wait! We had our first 2 children when we were fairly young but definately feel more prepared this time around. I'll be 28 by the time my baby is born & my children will be aged 9 & 7 so there's a bit more of a gap then i'd wish for but now that they're both in school full time & i have all day to myself (i don't work, just a housewife) i feel that i have plenty of time on my hands (too much at times). Although i have to admit that we didn't plan this baby (it was just a happy accident) i really can't wait for it to arrive & feel that it will fit into my life perfectly right now. My children are both really excited & constantly ask questions. I try to show them pictures so they can see how it's changing & growing every week & tell them about all the new developments. My son who's the eldest was a wonderful baby. He's always been really loving. My daughter was a good baby but by 18mths-2yrs she became a bit of a handful. Now that she's a bit older she's growing into a lovely girl & she loves babies. I think she'll be a big help when the baby finally comes along. I can't get them to agree on the baby's sex though. My son of course wants a boy & my daughter a girl but i'm not going to find out so they'll have to wait a bit longer to see who's right!!

Tuesday, 22 July Hiya, you're so right, hearing other people's stories helps a lot, I've been reading magazines and looking things up on the net, so I think I'm pretty well clued up on things that can happen! I still feel really squirmy about the epidural though, I'll avoid it at all costs! Everyone seems to think it's the best thing but I don't like the thought of a needle staying in my back and I also don't like the thought that you can't feel your contractions. I'm thinking I'll ask about the birthing pool and maybe add the gas and air. In saing that I am keeping an open mind and if I'm really struggling I might change my mind!!
We had a lovely break at the caravan, had a day across at Belfast and I got in touch with my college friend who I'd not seen since we graduated! We also had a day out at Portpatrick, it was a lovely day, brought all my freckles out! We had a walk about, played putting and sat in the sun for bit. It all just went too fast!
We were back at the class last night, it was breathing and relaxation! I was expecting the panting but it was all very calm and dignified! Until we were doing our relaxation and Scott decided to pretend he was drooling and made a great big slurpy noise!! I couldn't stop laughing!! One of the men actually did start to fall asleep! emb17 -
Wednesday, 16 July I got a letter from my ex solicitors today
looks like I'll be back in court again over custordy for the boys. I think you are right they just have nothing better to do with their time and money!
My ex never spent time with us as a family, he used to keep telling me that his mates in the pub were more important than we were, so one day I just told him he could keep his mates! Their was many more problems between us than just that but it didn't help are relationship much.
My other half on the other had is a totally different person. He works hard so he can spend time with us as a family. However as do I we do enjoy some time out together with out the children. We said right at the begining of our relationship that we would do our best to spend some time together from time to time to keep our relationship alive.
You'll have to book your self a night or two away with your other half and give him no choise.
I bet like your last holiday he'll find you both really enjoy yourselves.
This week seams to be crawling by without my other half. at least I can sort of see what he is up to by watching the results on the web sight.

Tuesday, 15 July Hiya, had my first antenatal class last night, it was two classes for an hour each, the first was loads of information about pain relief and what to expect in labour, what to take to hospital and that sort of thing. The second hour was through to a room with loads of mats and cushions on the floor and we were shown some exercises to help us prepare for labour. It was good fun and the two midwives who were taking the groups were absolute nutters and had us in stitches! Breathing exercises are next week, Scott's dreading it, but everyone's going to feel a bit mental sitting panting for no apparent reason!! Don't think my baby's stopped moving since I was there, it's as if it knows this marks the start of the countdown!! Haha!! coylton gail -
Monday, 14 July Hiya! Yes, we've had a nice weekend, getting Jack back tomorrow and heading to Stranraer at some point for our wee holiday! I didn't get an answer from the ferry company about whether I needed a letter to travel, so hopefully they'll let me on board!! If not Scott's going to find another wee boat trip to take Jack and we can do Belfast another time.
I have been sleeping better, think I just had too much on my mind! Everything seems to be affecting me more than it usually would, me and mum had words because she was telling me all this stuff I had to get organised and I know she's right but it got me so stressed out! We had a lovely day shopping yesterday though and bought lovely bedding and curtains and stuff for the nursery! Can't wait to see it all in place!
Sounds like you had a lovely day out!
Thanks for the pep talk! I so know it's all going to be worth it, I think worrying about doing your best just shows you really care and makes you a good mum! It wouldn't say much for me if I wasn't thinking about it!! emb17 -
Saturday, 12 July
I'm feeling a little lost right now. My other half has just left for a week of fun sailing in cork week and normmaly we'd be snuggled up now on the sofa by now. I do hate him being away. It's like a horrid emptyness! Still it is only a week and I love it when he returns home

I had a good laugh with him this morning though. I recieved a letter from my ex's new wife! (I think she is some sort of social worker). She has decided to tell me that she is worried about the welfare for my boys and our unborn child!!!! She think's i'm about to have a break down and she has a surprize comming for me but she won't tell me what it is just yet!
I know that my sanity is in tact but with letters like that i would like to question hers!
She seamed to also imply that I had some sort of problem moving on! I love my man very much and feel very lucky to have met him, the last thing I'm interested in is their life! unless it affects the boys!!!
Sound's like you have a great holliday lined up and now prob is the best time to go, just before the third trimester when exhaustion kicks in again and that feeling of being like a beached whale
lol any excuse to do nothing! I don't know how hot it will be out their at this time of year do you? I hope you all have a great time
I have a feeling the summer is going to fly by, we have lot's of mini adventures planed all over the place.

Friday, 11 July Yes, I know, 10 weeks will fly in! I'm getting excited and jittery all at the same time! I suppose it'd natural to get the jitters though, just shows I care about doing things right!
I'm absolutely shattered today, had one of those nights where you're not actually sure if you dropped off to sleep at all! Yuk! Hope this isn't it starting for the next 10 weeks, I'm not good without my sleep! coylton gail -
Thursday, 10 July Hi, yes, thanks, I'm feeling much better now, must have just been a stomach upset! I got through to the local midwife, she said to monitor it for a day or two and go straight to the doctor if it stayed. Luckily it didn't!
How are you? emb17 -
Thursday, 10 July I don't get nervous when I have all the kids, I actually really enjoy seeing them all. I do get fed up with my MIL trying to take over and start telling them what she want's them to do esp after I have just asked them to put something away it's time for dinner or something and she comes in and say's "No! they can tidy my house first!"
I do find i'm totaly exhausted after a weekend with them all too.
I'm sure I'm one of these people that attracts arsholes!!!
My mum say's it's because i'm too nice and I need to toughen up! I still feel bloody lucky to have met my other half though as dispite his mum and his lack of suport their, anything else and he defends me and protects me no end. I keep telling him he should have been a solicitor as he has written some fantastic letters in responce to my ex.
My ex actually brought the boys some new shoes the other day but they are not alowd to wear them here! How's that for pathetic??
lol I have to see the funny side or I too would end up in the mental institute
How's you? Any big summer plans? coylton gail -
Tuesday, 8 July Aw, that sounds like you had a nice time!
I've been trying to phone my midwife all day, been having bad stomach cramps, I think it's a stomach upset, but it's like what's causing what, is my stomach upset cos there's something wrong or am I getting pains just because my tummy's a bit tender? No idea! I'm a bit off my food as well, need to try and talk to her! There's an emergency number, but if I phone it they'll probably tell me to go up to the hospital for a check adn it's quite a long drive when you're not feeling well! If I'm not better later I might go just to be on the safe side.
I'd be very worried about a wee boy wanting a whip! Nobody will mess with him at the carnival!! Haha! emb17 -
Tuesday, 8 July HAPPY BIRTHDAY
Hope you had a lovely time?????
I survived the weekend (Which actually we had a fantastic time!) to come back to a mountian of S*** from my ex husband saying I'm a bad mother and he wants full custurdy of the boys. It's really embarressing that he has sent a copy of all that he thinks of me to the boys head tacher too!!!!!
The boys need new school shoes, they still fit but they are comming to the end of them now. They break up for summer holls in 2 weeks so I said they can wait till then and I will buy them some cheep trainers to ruck arround in for the summer holls and new school shoes when they go back. I don't think i'm being unreasonable?????
He is also having a prob with those horrid head lice, I have to confess to only seeing them in Ian's hair once and I delt with it straight away and also once with Jacob. Every time I have combed through their hair I haven't seen any?! I keep it short ish too to try and prevent it.
It was my MIL's 70th Birthday yesterday, I don't think I sat down once and today i'm soooo nackard I hurt. But I got draged miles out of the way to try and find white frogs to go in her fish tank which, apparently you can't buy?! I know nothing!
Anyway back to boring house work
lol
Hope you are all ok?
coylton gail -
Monday, 7 July I hope there's more to the antenatal classes than that, there's 6 weeks of them!! Could get a bit tedious! That's all I can picture too, think TV might be to blame!
Happy birthday for yesterday, did you have a nice time? You're right, it's nice to get out just the two of you once ina while! emb17 -
Thursday, 3 July I'm having one of my "i'm tooo exhausted to move," days. Do you ever get them?
I keep looking at all the house work I have to do and it just makes me feel more exhausted!!!!
We have seen alot of all the other children and I feel that for the last 2 weeks I just haven't stoped. We have had dozens of school trips, assembalies, cub trips, beaver trips, etc..... I could now sleep for a week!!!
ZZZZ lol
It's my MIL 70th on Monday and we are taking her away for the weekend as part of her birthday prezy. (
What am a I doing???? A weekend away with my MIL!!! I must be mad?????) If you hear from me again I survived! LOL
I think we might have all the kids round on Monday as I offered to make a cake, (I must make my ducks lay some eggs again! for some reason they have given up?!?)
Hope you are well? TC Em x Megan the lump maker -
Wednesday, 2 July Thanks, it is so friggen painful. I thought my bones were splitting apart. It has lightened up since last night, but it's a horrible feeling! coylton gail -
Wednesday, 2 July What a good idea to have your daughter's party in a playzone! Good for you!
We had a picnic in the rain on Sunday! It was already planned and the picnic was made up by the time it started to rain so we went anyway and Scott and his friend moved some picnic tables under the trees so we didn't get too wet! It cleared up soon after we'd eaten and turned into a lovely day!
We start our antenatal classes on the 14th July, can't wait, don't know what to expect! It'll be nice to see other mums to be! emb17 -
Tuesday, 1 July I had some phisyo which I thought had made things alot worse to start with but a few days on after having it and some of the pain has gone
My MIL is starting to panic about the due date of this baby as she has now realised that she will be away on holiday. I'm hoping it will arrive then as it will be alot easyer having the house to my self and not having her in and out like a yo yo!!! coylton gail -
Friday, 27 June Yes, I know I've got an amazing mum and we spoil each other all the time!
I'm glad Jess had a good birthday, hope your husband and you enjoy your special days as well! All those birthdays so close together! Enjoy!!
Take care! x coylton gail -
Wednesday, 25 June Thanks for the tip, I'll have a wee look at the website. Now I've seen a lot of the prams I know what I like anyway. I did think about putting towards the pram but my mum is determined that the grandparents traditionally buy the first pram! Once she's made her mind up on something she's a very determined lady! She did also offer to swap cars with me for a few months so I can get myself sorted and swap mine for something slightly bigger, so that's another option.
Your poor daughter, sounds as if she had a hellish day! I've got all that to come! At least she got to choose a nice birthday present I'm sure that cheered her up! emb17 -
Tuesday, 24 June Say happy birthday to all from us lot
We have almost a birthday or 2 a month in our house hold and that is just the imediate family! lol It's fun but very expencive! I have 2 partys to plan at about the time I'm due to give birth!!!!
I'm not sure I will cope with that but lets see.
I went to see the physio about my back and pubis thing yesterday and all he could say was that I needed to re-build my muscel! He did some stuff to me too which left me in more pain than when I arrived!
I think that is one reason I will be glad when this is all over, I'm looikng forward to meeting my next footballer though

Tuesday, 24 June awww, all the guilt us mothers go through!! Thanks for that insight, I think it will make them better individuals too, they learn to share and be compassionate with others and so forth........I just feel so terrible and am going to miss the time spent with my little girl now, she will be exactly 2 when the new little girl is born, and she is already obsessed with babies so hopefully that is a good sign =) emb17 -
Monday, 23 June
That bit about your mum made me laugh.
The morning sickness just comes and gose now it's not as bad as it was, thankfully! I just get odd days where it gets to me!
I thought I was being clever on Saturday. My partner has been involved in the round britan power boat race thing so I was really keen to see the start! I droped him at the boat he was using as a starting boat and carried on round to hurst castle spit, (I was told this would be the best viewing point!!!!) I started walking down with my youngest who is 2 and realised about 3/4 of the way their! I had possibly made a big mistake it felt like I had walked miles! Infact when I got back my partner told me the spit is about a mile + long so my self and Jacob had walked nearly 3 miles!!!! The two of us slept extremly well the rest of that day and Sunday
I don't think that is the sort of the the midwife had in mind when she said gentle excersise lol coylton gail -
Monday, 23 June Wow! That's a busy week! And I thought I had a lot to do!!
We found two prams small enough to fit in my tiny car, only thing is they both work out quite expensive! Typical! My mum says not to worry about the cost, but you don't like to choose the dearest thing, do you? Well, it's not the dearest exactly, but more than I'd been thinking! Still cheaper than changing cars though.
We found a huge Mothercare store in East Kilbride and there was a good sale on, so between us we spent £50 on baby things! It was good fun, my mum's getting really excited about choosing things for the baby!
Make sure you get your feet up on Sunday come hell or high water, you're going to be needing it!! coylton gail -
Friday, 20 June I'm glad you've decided to call the doc, that's what they're there for! If you do need any treatment it'll be over before you go on holiday! I just found out that some ferry companies insist on a doctor's letter as well, so I'll have to get one if we're taking the ferry to Belfast for a day! Better safe than sorry though!
I'm going pram shopping with my mum this weekend, she's offered to buy us our pram, so hopefully we'll find something we like! Hope you have a good weekend! coylton gail -
Friday, 20 June Hiya, you're quite right to start wearing your new things, they'll still look new when you get to your holiday! There's a good sale in Mothercare just now if there's one near you, or you can order online. Blooming Marvellous have just started a sale as well, but I've not had anything from them yet, so don't know how comfy they are! I've got a couple of pairs of trousers from Mothercare and they've been great, I've a pair from Dorothy Perkins, they're not so good as the waist is straight at the front, so even if it's properly adjusted it feels tight when you sit down!
Yes, I'm getting to quite a size now! I'm so enjoying being pregnant though, I feel great with my bump! I've still 3 months to go though, that's quite a lot of growing time!! Yikes!
I've spoken in my sleep before but I don't think I've ever actually done anything without waking up before! I don't think I actually got up out of bed, just phoned from where I was! I'm careful to switch my mobile off before I go to bed now!!
Why don't you phone your midwife about your tiredness and possibly anaemia? You'll probably get a wee extra appointment for a blood test and at least it would put your mind at rest and get iron tablets if you need them. I wouldn't wait 5 weeks for something like that cos it's important for baby devlopment. Your baby will take what it needs though, it would be you who would suffer!! beks1978 -
Friday, 20 June i went to the hospital and was checked over my cervix was closed and no more water was leaking so all is well....back to see midwife on monday x
