Hi, i'm Nikola. I've been married to my husband Willy for nearly 7 yrs & we're expecting our 3rd child on Oct 15th & i can't wait! We had our first 2 children when we were fairly young but definately feel more prepared this time around. I'll be 28 by the time my baby is born & my children will be aged 9 & 7 so there's a bit more of a gap then i'd wish for but now that they're both in school full time & i have all day to myself (i don't work, just a housewife) i feel that i have plenty of time on my hands (too much at times). Although i have to admit that we didn't plan this baby (it was just a happy accident) i really can't wait for it to arrive & feel that it will fit into my life perfectly right now. My children are both really excited & constantly ask questions. I try to show them pictures so they can see how it's changing & growing every week & tell them about all the new developments. My son who's the eldest was a wonderful baby. He's always been really loving. My daughter was a good baby but by 18mths-2yrs she became a bit of a handful. Now that she's a bit older she's growing into a lovely girl & she loves babies. I think she'll be a big help when the baby finally comes along. I can't get them to agree on the baby's sex though. My son of course wants a boy & my daughter a girl but i'm not going to find out so they'll have to wait a bit longer to see who's right!!

How`s my pregnancy doing?

Hi! Sorry it's been so long, my time's not my own any more!! I like your choice of names, there's so many nice names it can be hard to choose!

How are you keeping? Any sign of baby coming yet?

emb17 - Friday, 10 October
Hi, I'm feeling alot better now. Yesterday I was able to get up and shoffal arround like a penguin but now I can almost walk normally again. Thankfully I have a freind who is a chyropractor and although he lives a long way from me He was able to give a lot more advice than the doctor!
Like you say I couldn't believe that they were not interested in comming out to me! The doctor even suggested that I keep my legs crossed and try not to have the baby yet so that my body could recover!!!!! I mean who can actually decide when their baby turns up, apart from a few!
Any way all my contractions have now compleatly stopped, i'm just getting random braxton ones. My freind who is a midwife came to see me and she thinks that I may have shocked my body out of labour ( I didn't know you could do that but I guess anything is possible!?)
I feel a bit in limbo at the moment! My baby is sooooo low it might as well be out lol...
I'm stressing about the return of my MIL so much so that I can't sleep. every time I have tried to talk to my partner about how she really makes me and the children feel he just goes silent or gets cross. I know she is his mum but really even he has got to see just how lovely it has been with out her interfearing daily! I have had such a lovely time with out her, I feel like I have had a great time bonding with my youngest and in some ways have been a little glad that our new babe hasn't turned up yet because of the quality time I have been able to have with Jacob. I think that is what i'm up now stressing most about is loosing him to her again. or is it just my hormones ???
Any way good news is I can walk again and baby is moving, so back to a normal day today

How are you? any twinges?

emb17 - Wednesday, 8 October
Hi, I'm having a bad day today. see newest blog.

Will let you know how I am tommorrow.

Hope you are well though?

emb17 - Saturday, 4 October
My contractions seam to have become less often but more pain full. I know what you mean when sometimes you just have to stop and cross your legs. occasionally I have been sneezing so hard that I felt sure the baby would shoot out! lol

I'm ready to have this baby now and it doesn't seam to what to move now! very frustraaiting!

Let me know if any thing works for you?

Oh and yes sex is suposed to work as it is like the suff they use to start labour of in hospital. Only it is alot more fun than what they give you in hospital

coylton gail - Saturday, 4 October
Hiya, thanks!! You're right, it's so worth it! Still in a bit of pain now but I just love her so much!!

She's called Abbie and she weighed 8lb 14oz! So she's not such a wee girl!! At the moment I don't think I'd have another one, but I'd never say never!

I'm so glad your baby has decided to turn by itself, you must be so relieved!

emb17 - Thursday, 2 October
My man came home early because I was soo unwell again Tuesday evening. He got back late last night, so lots of sex and walking from now on

It's great to hear you baby has finaly turned, it is such a reliefe isn't it?

I keep getting really strong contractions but up till now I hae been having hot baths or laying as still and quietly till they go. Now I will do all I can to keep them going and make them do their job

I'm starting to feel ready for this baby now, I have the birth pool set up, I brought a few new things for the babe with my mum, my other half is home and my MIL is on holiday for 10 days! WOHOOOOO you watch it will be late now!

My midwife told me she doesn't need to see me now till when the baby arrives! She said she would call next week to see how I was getting on! I've never had such little care from the midwives! But at least I don't have to be driving back wards and forwards to town once a week to see them, it cost's a fortune in fuel!

Let me know how you get on, we can't have that long to go?!

coylton gail - Tuesday, 30 September
Hiya, yes I have news!!! I went into labour on Sunday 21st and after a very long 18 hours had a wee girl who we've called Abbie.

We got home on Sunday, were kept in because Abbie lost more than 10% of her birth weight and they had to make sure she was feeding properly before they could let us go. She was delivered with forceps eventually and I ended up having the epidural as I was really struggling and have a heart murmur, so they didn't want me straining too much! So much for the birth plan!

I'm going to add some pictures of her while I'm here.

Hope things are going well for you, not long to go now!!

emb17 - Saturday, 27 September
Hi, my little one decided to make the tun on it's own, so I didn't have to worry about them turning him/her.

I've lost some weight again, but I think after the amount of food I have eaten today I will have put it all back on + some I think. lol

I keep trying to have naps but it is just not happening, esp with a 2 year old running round the house! lol

I will keep my fingers crossed for you that your baby behaves and is the right way round at your next appointment. Let us know what happens.

I have great news, my babe is now the right way up. but very worringly very ready to come out and my other half is over 5 hours away!!! I keep having very painfull contractions but very random. I really really need it to stay put till Wed at least. Maybe I should just stand on my head for the next week? Lol

How you getting on?

emb17 - Wednesday, 24 September
Sounds great that your mum is going with you to the next appointment. With any hope, Thursday morning results depending! I'm going to spend the afternoon with my mum, baby shopping. I think she thinks I'm mad wanting a new bed for my baby (and she is probably right) I just have this mad need for it!

I keep having really strong braxton contractions today, I can see my baby is sideways, everytime they happen. It is not putting any preasure on my cervix at all! I still think my babe is all over the place!

My youngest keeps kissing my tummy at the moment and saying I love you baby to it. He also keeps putting his hand on my tummy saying ow it kicked me mummy I love the things they come out with, I wish I could recored it all.

I will keep you posted on Thurs, let me know what happens at your next appointment.

emb17 - Monday, 22 September
yeah, I was having weekly appointments by this stage with my others. I have seen my midwife a few times but not every time. I think I have now seen 4 different ones. but in the past rarly have I seen one I know during labour.

My other half doesn't get back till the 5th so I must keep this baby inside till then.

My MIL told me two days ago that she has realised that I won't be able to cope when this baby arrives and has told her friends that she will have to cook and look after me and the other children for 2 weeks at least till I have got the hang of things!!!! I told her I would cpe without any problems and that I don't need her help thank you. So she told me I was getting it if I liked it or not!!!! I can see me moving out!

emb17 - Monday, 22 September
I finnaly saw a midwife last night and she couldn't tell which way up my baby was. So she is organising a scan for me but that prob wont happen till Thursday, by which point I will be nearly 38 weeks. She said they would then disscuse possible turning of the baby. she also said because i'm not a first time mum and that I have had normal delivery's in the past that tey would also consider letting me try for a normal birth! But it would have to be in the hospital and under constant monertering of the baby.
I think this baby is still doing summersalts, Makes me feel a little bad knowing that my tummy muscels are that week! oh well, the joys of having children

Can they bring your appointmnt forward?

Lorien - Thursday, 18 September
I hope something works for you. I know you can try acupuncture or chiropractic as well but definitely try the upside down stuff first since it is free. My sister in law had a breech one as well and got hers to flip right at the end I think doing the upside down stuff. Check out this link. Good Luck!

emb17 - Wednesday, 17 September
I think my littlun is still doing loop the loop. Last night it was dfinatly head up,you could almost see the shape of a face in my tummy!!! lol

I have heard that accupuncture is very good at all things. I have never tried it, but it sounds worth it. I have never heard a bad thing from it. One of my friends has just started learning about it as he wants to add it to his clinic. (He is a chiropractor, which is very usefull.

Are they going to organise a scan for you at all to prove one way or the other as to which way round your baby is?

I have heard that back to back labour is more painfull, try crawling round on your knees, I have been told it works.

I have no idea what is happening with my midwife, I haven't heard a thing I was told they would call me. I have tried to call them but was told they would get back to me. I almost feel like because i'm suposed to be an "experianced mum" they are just compleatly leaving me to it. I did say to them that every pregnacy is different and that I have the same worrys and concerns, I just know what labour is like!

I keep phonong for my test results too but they don't have any answeres yet! It is almost a joke!

We have gained a tortoise this week! Trouble is I don't know how to hibernate them and all the info I have looked at has said now is the time. It was in the middle of the road! I had to swereve to miss it, I then went back and thought best to pick it up and take it home and see if I can find it's owners, but so far nothing! I would have thought they would be hunting like mad things for it? I know if was mine I would be.

Any way take care and let me know how things go and if you do try accupuncture let me know what it is like. I might use it to get this babe to arrive before MIL gets home

emb17 - Monday, 15 September
I think my babe is still summer salting! Yesterday I was in the car and it turned side way's! I looked like a rugby ball!! It would have been funny if it wasn't so painfull! Then to top it of my other half drove over a bump and it triggered a braxton contraction and I just wanted to cry with the pain. thank fully it also made it turn again, only I relly couldn't guess which way round it is!

Any way hope all gose well for you on Tuesday. I don't know when I'm next seeing my midwife. they said they would call me!?

Take care Em x

coylton gail - Monday, 15 September
Hi, are you any further forward with getting your wee one to turn round?

I was hoping to have gone early after the midwife's report last week but I'm still hanging on waiting! I'm getting sore back and hips now and quite a few other twinges as well, but nothing's come to anything yet. Last night I had pains which felt like period pains, only quite mild, but I got myself all excited and thought things were starting, but by the time I got up this morning they were away again! It must happen soon!!

coylton gail - Thursday, 11 September
Hiya, still hanging on...! I've heard that the midwife can try and turn your baby, have you thought of asking for that? It's supposed to be a bit uncomfortable though and the baby can turn back to its preferred position!! It might be worth a try though, especially if it could save you having a section.

emb17 - Wednesday, 10 September
I see my proper midwife tommorrow, so I will see what she say's. I'm not 100% sure but I think it has turned. I haven't felt Him/her move as much today, I was starting to get a little worried but he/she has now started kicking and it feels like it is all legs that I can feel in my rib cage. I will let you know what the midwife say's tomorrow.

I think if I was your sister I wouldn't have let them any where near me, esp being that far over due. I would have worried about any damage being done to the placenta!

I'm hoping this wont be a big baby, Ian my number 2 was my bigest so far at 1/2 an ounz of 9lbs. the other two were 7lb ish baby's which is big enough.

coylton gail - Wednesday, 10 September
My visit to the midwife was fine, baby has engaged further and only has a wee bit left to go, she also asked me loads of questions and said I'm definitely showing the early signs for going into labour! I thought I'd be terrified by that news, but I just couldn't keep the silly grin off my face!! I've had a nervous and bit stressed last couple of weeks, but now I feel completely ready and looking forward to meeting my wee bundle! The midwife also gave me an appointment for next Monday but said cos of the signs I've got she might not see me cos I could have gone in by then! I'm totally over analyzing every wee twinge now, but it's all exciting!! Just trying to keep reminding myself that it could still go late so I don't get fed up if it doesn't start to happen.

Anyway, what's happening with you? Keep me updated but you'll know where I am if you don't get a reply! x

emb17 - Wednesday, 10 September
Hi, I was told yesterday they will give me till 37 weeks for the baby to turn if not they will do another scan and talk about turning it!!! I don't like the sound of that? I've done a little reaserch on the internet, and mostly it just sounds un-comfy. but I worry about what sort of damage it could do, or if it could send you in to labour! The last thing I want is this baby arriving whilst my other half is away.

My youngest went to pre-school for the first time yesterday. he loved it sooo much he didn't want to come home. He fell asleep before he could finish what he was saying, he was telling me about all the other little people and his painting and then he was off to the land of nod! lol He dosn't want to wait a whole week before he goes again, but I can't afford more than once a week at the moment. My MIL coldn't cope with him going, she came and sat on my sofa the whole time he was their telling me about my other halfs first day at school and how she couldn't go home and that she had to have coffee at all her friends houses till it was time to pick him up! I told her I had far too much work to do to be able to go to all my friends for coffee, I make curtians for friends occasionally.

I want to get all my work done so I can clear the house and start sorting the baby stuff but I will never get it done with her about! Maybe I should convince her to go work at the nursery and earn an extra day for Jacob to go? She used to be a teacher!

Let me know what the midwife say's on Tues? With any hope your little un will have turned. Take care Em x

emb17 - Monday, 8 September
Hi ya, My babe seams to be all over the place still, but has a tendance for sitting like a budda in the breech position. I can see it's head under my rib cage, looks quite funny, but like you I really don't want a c-section. I don't think the house could cope with me being stuck on my back! LOL I hope your littlun behaves and stays in the right position, I have heard they can turn the right way on the day you go into labour!

This weekend with the kids nearly drove me insane, only because of the mess they keep making. I don't know why but every time the boys get back from their dad's they come back like annimals! I found every time I wanted to go to the loo one of them had peed all over the seat and the floor!!!! ther is no reason for it, so I made them scrub it clean! I told them I wasn't their slave!!!

Other than that it has been great hving my other half back, even if it is only for a few days.

I'm gona give the doc a ring in a min because I keep getting these strange illnesses and then feeling fine 20 mins later!! (I will explane it in my blog later)

coylton gail - Sunday, 7 September
Yes, I've been having some twinges, but not really sure if it's to do with labour or just pulling muscles in that area! Had a really sore pain on Friday eve every time I moved, it was like a pulled muscle on the underside of my belly and it was coming back about every half hour, I thought I was on my way!! Didn't come to anything though, was away by the next morning!

Keep trying to turn that baby! I think it can definitely work if you sit in strange positions! I've been quite lucky cos I've read that if you sit in comfy seats too much it's likely to go back to back and I've been having to sit with my feet up loads to reduce the swelling, but the midwife told me the baby's in a really good position. Going to see her again tomorrow, wonder how engaged teh baby will be now!!

coylton gail - Wednesday, 3 September
Just wrote a reply to you then my connection went down, grrr! 2nd time today that's happened!

I've been doing the same as you, keep working away as if I've got something to prove, but it's not till I stop that I realise how tired I've got! Definitely time for some pampering!

I've been doing a few more bits and bobs here, the wee room now has its borders and curtains up and we've got the moses basket ready on its stand. Still to build up the cot, no great hurry as we're using the moses basket first, but it'll be good to see everything in place!
