Hi, i'm Nikola. I've been married to my husband Willy for nearly 7 yrs & we're expecting our 3rd child on Oct 15th & i can't wait! We had our first 2 children when we were fairly young but definately feel more prepared this time around. I'll be 28 by the time my baby is born & my children will be aged 9 & 7 so there's a bit more of a gap then i'd wish for but now that they're both in school full time & i have all day to myself (i don't work, just a housewife) i feel that i have plenty of time on my hands (too much at times). Although i have to admit that we didn't plan this baby (it was just a happy accident) i really can't wait for it to arrive & feel that it will fit into my life perfectly right now. My children are both really excited & constantly ask questions. I try to show them pictures so they can see how it's changing & growing every week & tell them about all the new developments. My son who's the eldest was a wonderful baby. He's always been really loving. My daughter was a good baby but by 18mths-2yrs she became a bit of a handful. Now that she's a bit older she's growing into a lovely girl & she loves babies. I think she'll be a big help when the baby finally comes along. I can't get them to agree on the baby's sex though. My son of course wants a boy & my daughter a girl but i'm not going to find out so they'll have to wait a bit longer to see who's right!!

Sunday, 15 June Thanks so much for the advice!...i'm glad to say that me and my partner talked it over and he realised that he maybe has to stop nit picking at every little thing she does. I've decided to play a bigger role when it comes to telling her off so my partner isnt always seen as the bad one! He and my daughter talked it through and they have both turned over a new leaf and agree to be nicer to eachother!! PHEW I'm so glad they are friends again, I can't tell you what a relief it is!! Good luck on your third pregnancy, I hope it all goes well xxxx

Friday, 13 June You can take Benadryl which is an antihistamine but I don't know about the other one you mentioned. You can always call a pharmacist near you and ask them...or just call your dr and explain the situation. coylton gail -
Friday, 13 June I know I'm lucky, he's taking it in his stride!
When I read your message I laughed and promptly uncrossed my legs! And now that I've typed that I've just uncrossed them the other way!! Arrgghh!! It's such a habit I don't even know I'm doing it!!
That's nice that you got to see your wee one in his play, I used to teach in primary schools and I loved doing things like that! EmB17 -
Friday, 13 June Just to make you smile, I ordered some new tops from ebay and they arrived this morning. I opened the packet and held them up against myself and asked Jacob what he thought. He smiled and said my turn mummy! Now he is running round wearing them, lol He even managed to get his head through the arm hole of one of them!!!

Thursday, 12 June Thanks answering my question. Your response removed my worries. coylton gail -
Thursday, 12 June I went to the doctor yesterday and he checked my blood pressure while I was there, he said it was completely normal and my swollen feet were nothing to worry about, just what I thought really. I think your own instincts can tell you if there's something wrong! I'm quite bad for crossing my legs, I do it without even realising!
Me and Scott are both going to the classes, I wasn't sure what his reaction would be when I asked, but he's up for it which will help me, I'm sure when I'm in the labour ward I'll need reminding of all the wee hints and tips we'll get! I'll have other things on my mind, probably "oh my god, I didn't think it would be this sore!!"

We have some beautifull weather at the mo, just right not too hot but warm enough to wear shorts.
We are talking about taking the kids camping again this year, we did it last year a took our dinghy with us which they loved. But I too was exhausted last year so i'm a little worried as to how I will keep up. esp with the pubis synphs thing (Which I still can't spell)
OPPS, just burt my first attempt at brownies! Should cook not chat,

You don't look very big at all. My MIL said I look massive!!! I only took a close up photo cause I took the pick myself using a mirror. :-) lol...... I'm even bigger now! Might just be because it's my 4th! EmB17 -

They look so cute in the scans, you can almost work out just how they will look when they are born. :-) coylton gail -
Wednesday, 11 June I work as a tutor for adult basic education. I'm going to work until the beginning of August, so about 5 weeks before I'm due. Hopefully I'll get some time to relax before the arrival! At least my job tends to be mostly seated, so it's not physically tiring, but I'm noticing my concentration isn't what it was!!
I'm so fed up having fat swollen feet, but I'm even more fed up with folk telling me it "must" be pre-eclampsia! My blood pressure and everything else have been fine and I'm sure the medical staff would have picked up on any problems. Why do folk think they're being helpful by telling you all the things that could be wrong - we already know!!
Got booked into ante natal classes starting in July. I was hoping they would be though the day so I could ask for time off work, but they're only in the evenings! Never mind, can't have it all!!

Tuesday, 10 June Wow. That must've been amazing. I was so bummed that my husband was asleep and couldn't feel him moving around. It was definatly the strongest movements i've felt so far. Even though I was happy he was moving and amazed, i was also tired....lol. But thats how it goes I guess. :) Cheyanne -
Tuesday, 10 June I know. I'm really big. I feel very heavy. coylton gail -
Monday, 9 June I'm STILL working on the room! By the time I've done a full day at work I'm quite tired and only really manage a wee bit at a time, if there's any washing and things to do that's enough at the end of the day! I've got some more days off coming up next week though so I'll get back into it again then. I'm so with you about the heat! I'm not sleeping well because it's stuffy, then of course it's more tiring through the day because it's warmer as well! My feet are like two balloons by the end of the day! Can't wait to be on my leave and relax a bit more!! coylton gail -
Saturday, 7 June Yes, the things are lovely, I can't wait to get them and see what they're like! I've had clothes from there before, mostly good, so I'm confident I'll like what I've ordered. I've been really surprised in the shops how many clothes have a definite gender, I thought lots of people were moving away from that now. I love the wee dresses and things for girls though, but I mean stuff like baby gros, even stuff that looks fairly neutral is often labelled boys or gilrs. It kinda puts you off in case folk can't tell what your baby is!
Hope you're pleased with your maternity clothes. I had to wear them from fairly early on, I'm now finding that the cotton things aren't fitting and I'm needing to wear the more stretchy stuff! I think I'm going to be huge!!
Good luck with the gardening! I'm still clearing stuff out of that spare room (to be the nursery!) Had no idea how much stuff I'd gathered up over the years!! mamacakes -
Friday, 6 June i hear ya! Ours wasnt planned either...we had only planned on having the one and he is 10 now...lol...nothing like starting all over again! But we are very happy and anxious for this little one to come and join our family. mamacakes -
Friday, 6 June i dont think size has much to do with it. All my friends have had multiple children and they all say its just faster and easier with each one. I assume its because your body knows what to do and how to get it done. (my one friend also had 2 ten pound babies and says the second one was much easier and faster) mamacakes -
Friday, 6 June yep..only one...and yes..i do make 'em big! My first was almost 11 pounds at birth, born only 3 days early... LC86 -
Friday, 6 June thanks for the suggestion! i've decided (for now!) that thats what i'll do.. just makes it a bit easier on me throughout the night, and he can sleep in his crib during the day..thanks again!

Tuesday, 3 June Yes, men are like that! I was very pleasantly surprised to find that Scott had loaded the dishwasher when I got home from work yesterday! Only thing was he hadn't actually switched it on, so I've no idea how he managed to turn the power on without it starting up! Not to worry, at least it saved me the longest part of the job!
I know how you feel about maternity clothes! I'm already reaching the outer limits of some of mine! I've decided to wear the non stretchy materials just now as I think I'll only get another few weeks out of them, I'll move into my stretchy things when I have to!! Might even need to buy more as well, hope not though, I want to start spending money on baby things now! EmB17 -
Tuesday, 3 June Yeah, I have recieved dozons of new things in the past, so i'm not that worried. It just would have been nice to know.
To the best of my knowledge that is the last Scan now. :-( but my other half got to see the pictures which was good :-)
I had a really lovely relaxing holliday last week which I think did me the world off good, the only prob was tht i missed the kids like mad!
How you feeling? coylton gail -
Monday, 2 June Sorry to hear you've not been well, it really takes it out you when you're pregnant as well. I'm a bit concerned about fitting a pram in my car, I really don't want to have to think about changing my car on top of everything else! Suppose I could get something cheap though, if I absolutely have to.
I'm still in the process of clearing out, I've such a lot to do and it was quite hot last week when I was working on it, so I was tiring quickly and didn't get as much done as I'd hoped! It's always the same, I imagine I'll get loads done and it never works out that way!! Not to worry, I did manage to sort out a couple of bags for the charity shop, so at least I've made a start!
There's a great sale on at www.laredoute.co.uk with loads of great prices on baby stuff, nice things in neutral colours, so safe to buy now!! You should take a wee look, I've just bought a load of stuff!

Wednesday, 28 May Good luck with tomorrow's scan, are you going to find out boy or girl?
I've still not ordered a pram, think I will go for a travel system as I drive and live out of town, so most of my travelling will start with the car. I'll need to choose carefully though as I drive a ford ka and they're tiny! Hopefully I'll find something nice which will fit in! The traditional prams are really beautiful though, just not practical for me. Started clearing out today so I can make room to buy in some of the bigger items, but didn't get on as fast as I'd hoped! It's always the way... I do regret being such a hoarder now! LOADS to do to sort this place out! And no-one to blame but myself!

Saturday, 24 May Glad I'm not the only one doing things at the last minute! I'm off work most of this week so I'm going to try and make a start by filling a couple of bags for the charity shop, it's amazine how you just manage to fill whatever space you've got! I'm sure I don't use half the stuff that's in this house! Might even try some of the better things on ebay, see if I can make a few pounds from my unwanted stuff! I'm sure every penny will count once I've got a wee one to buy for! coylton gail -
Saturday, 24 May I've not got much shopping done yet, just a few bit and pieces of clothes when the sales were on. I've started looking, just not buying! I had a lot of work outstanding in the house when I found out, so I've had a new bathroom fitted, the kitchen still hasn't been finished from last year and my spare room is going to have to be gutted, decorated and cleared before I've got any space for a cot or anything. Lots to do and not much time left to do it! I've got a very helpful mum though who says she's going to do the decorating for me! All the bigger jobs I'm just going to have to pay folk to do cos it's too much for me just now and my partner's not the handiest! I'll need to get into the shopping before I'm too big and uncomfortable to enjoy it! At least I think I know what I'm after though!
