My Birth Story

Hello, well Thomas George David Raynor finally arrived on Friday 25th July @ 09:33am.
He weighed 7Lbs 11oz, and he is the most gorgeous little boy that I have ever seen.

On Thursday 24th July I had some BH which were slightly painful, I took no notice of them but they got more and more painful. At around 02:30 am on the Friday I told my partner that I was having pain, he said that he would take me to the hospital, but I refused saying that I wasn't sure and that I wanted a cup of tea first then see how I felt. But then I had another contraction and then realized that they were too painful to just be BH's.
I phone the hospital and they told me to come in and remember to bring my maternity notes. We got Molly dressed and took her to her grandmothers. We got to the hospital at around 3:30am. The midwife took me into the delivery suite and asked for my notes, I then realized that I had left them at home so David had to go home to get them. They then examined me and told me that I was 6cm dilated. I demanded an epidural, so the nurse got the doctor to come and put one in. At 7:30am the nurses swaps shifts. The new nurse examined me again and told me that I was fully dilated, she also told me that she could feel an ear and what felt like some fingers. She got a doctor to double check. He agreed that the baby was trying to come down ear first! He was able to turn him into the right position but he wanted me to start pushing the baby out while he guided the head, because he was worried that the baby might try and turn again. The decided to use suction, but as he did it slipped off the babys head, so he decided to use forceps but he needed to cut me. Anyway when Thomas finally came out the doc needed to sew me up. As he was sewing I kept bleeding and with every stitch I bled more. He then noticed that there was a big blood vessel and that is why I bled so much. He managed to stop the bleeding and was able to sew me up. I had to stay in hospital overnight. But Thomas is most definitely worth all the pain and I love him so much, even if I have no vagina left, just what looks like road kill between my legs!!!!
Apart from being extremely sore and tender I am feeling good and I will post some more pictures and keep you all up dated soon. I LOVE MY LITTLE BOY

I am still trying to get used to the sight. It is a little complex at the moment. I am doing good as is the baby. We have not got to see all of her anatomy so I will get another u/s on May 2nd...hopefully she is more cooperative at that time. How are you feeling?

jann29 - Sunday, 6 April
i was reading your blog, and 24 weeks is 6 months! :) you are actually pregnant for 10 months & if you think about it, 36 weeks = 9 months & 40 weeks = 10 months. hope that helps! congrats and best wishes with the rest of your pregnancy! :)

megcantwaitforherfirst - Sunday, 6 April
23 weeks starts your 6th month actually women are pregnant for a total of 40 weeks which is 10 months

spencerbaby1 - Sunday, 6 April
i'm alright thanks, just waiting for my 2 ww to end. how are you?

noahsmom - Saturday, 5 April
not to worry, at my last appt. which was at 21 weeks, i had only gained 1 pound. the doctor says that its ok as long as the baby is measuring good. with my last pregnancy i had only gained 18 pounds and they expected me to gain between 25-30. dont worry about the weight, it will come along in the end. this way it will be easier to take it off once the baby comes! good luck!

MelisaK - Saturday, 5 April
Only by 2-3 days...not enough to make a full 5 weeks. In both my books I am reading it says techically you are pregnant 10 months. weeks 1-4 are considered month 1 and weeks 37-40 are month 10. It is all so confusing! I think when you say you are 1 month pregnant you are completely finished with that month and are currently in your 2nd month. That would explain when you say you are 9 months and at the end you are a full 9 months and in your 10th. Who knows this has confused women for centuries!!! I just tell them what week I am in and try to avoid the month thing!!! My brain quit working a few months ago so I generally don't even try to use it anymore! LOL!!!

MelisaK - Saturday, 5 April
Unfortunately we are pregnant for 10 months. 40 weeks divided by 4 is 10. Sucks doesn't it!?

noahsmom - Saturday, 5 April
you are correct, 6 months is at 26 weeks.

tschmitz - Saturday, 5 April
the sixth month, 23 to 27 weeks..the seventh month 28-31 weeks..the eighth month 32-35 weeks...the ninth month 36-40 weeks..hope this helps!

Hey, I am pretty good... very sore in my legs and bum - have you ever had this? It is like I had a really intense workout, it is the muscles that hurt =( I have my next doctor's appointment on Friday, so I guess I'll ask him about it if it continues... Great pictures by the way! Your daughter is adorable, and you have a cute round belly happening! It might even be bigger than mine!

amygirl22 - Wednesday, 26 Mar
Yes I went to the doctors today. She said I'm due November 16th & that everything is doing fine. Got my wonderful prenatal vitamins. LoL.

tdawn - Monday, 24 Mar
Hey, yes I have started shopping for the baby! Isn't baby shopping so much fun! Our bassinet is different from a moses basket because it is attached to the stand, and the basket structure is not woven, but more of a sturdy plastic with soft padding & a mattress on the inside... it has music and a night light inside (and it wasn't a bad price!) I love the name you have chosen for your baby boy! Thomas is one of my favourite boy names! Unfortunately, I named my cat Thomas 5 years ago, so now cannot use it for our baby if it is a boy! (Now I know why people name their animals names like 'fluffy' rather than people names!) I am doing really well, the baby is moving like crazy now, which I love because now my family and friends can feel it when they press my belly! How are you feeling these days?

amygirl22 - Saturday, 22 Mar
Thanks!! I'm sooo excited. My doctor hasnt confirmed yet or not but I've had 3 BFP's and many other signs too.

blessedmom2b - Friday, 21 Mar
Hey! Thanks for your comment and concern. Things are going really well. I went to the doc on Monday - we found out we are having a beautiful baby BOY! and are so thrilled:) I'm not having the weird dialated feeling down there anymore but I did bring it up with him and he said it was probably just my uterus adjusting to the added weight. As long as they didn't see anything weird with my cervix when the tech did my extensive ultrasound, I feel like all is well. Thanks for the website I will have to check that out soon! take care:)

melindag - Thursday, 20 Mar
