sherryanne - Wednesday, 25 June I know what you mean, I'm ready to have this baby now, in fact I think I was about a month ago! lol, although I'm impatient
Are you seeing your midwife/consultant again soon then? I love getting to see them as it just gives that little bit of reassurance that everything is ok, wish I could tell which way around the baby is just by feeling it, what a skill to have! Would be great!
sherryanne - Wednesday, 25 June Its a girl :) gonna be called Bethany. I also have a son who's 11! so quite a big gap! in fact so long that the doc told me last week that I'm now considered to be pregnant for the first time again because its been so long! I've not had any problems at all so far apart from that she's breech, am hoping she'll turn soon as they have said they will try to turn her at 37 weeks and if not it'll be a cesarean. I've seen the docs quite often because I've had a lot of miscarriages in the past, luckily all early though so things are looking really good!
How has your pregnancy been?
sherryanne - Wednesday, 25 June I kinda thought that the docs over here dont like to investigate down there unless absolutely necessary in case it interferes with anything. Well I guess we're the lucky ones
sherryanne - Wednesday, 25 June Hiya, just saw your post in week 35, I'm in the UK too and this is my second pregnancy. I've never been checked for dilation either! Not untill I was actually in labour with my son first time around, guess its and american thing. Hope your pregnancy is going well! :)
apreece - Tuesday, 24 June Yes, I am from the US. I'm sure that's the reason why you have not had it done. It's not a pleasant thing to have done but it is nice to know how much you have progressed from week to week.
Beckaboo - Tuesday, 24 June yeah, here is USA Dr's check ya if patient is complaining of pain or discomfort. They want to make sure all is ok :) Good luck to you
apreece - Tuesday, 24 June It is normal to be checked from now on. The dr. is checking to see if you are dilating or effaced. This lets the Dr. know about how much longer it will be before delivery and to make sure your baby is not coming to early.
jobird - Tuesday, 24 June This entry had me LOL! I couldn't agree more! Speaking of elephants - they are pregnant for a whole year! I know that is not too far off from a human gestation, but man if I had to go more than 9 (10) months I don't know what I'd do!!!
tdawn - Sunday, 22 June I haven't got anything ready yet! We bought a new house, which needed renovations, and my hubby is still working on it... in the meantime we are living in a townhouse that we have been renting since we sold our last townhouse about 2 months ago. We had hoped to be finished the reno's by the end of the month, but as with all reno's it is taking much longer than expected, so I have several (well, almost all) of the baby's items in boxes and have yet to pack a hospital bag.. it has been difficult because I am anxious to have the nursery together! (As well as my house in order before the baby comes!) Also, I never see my husband... he comes home after work around 5:15, has dinner with me, and then goes to work on the house until about 1:00 am, only to go back to work the next day (he is exhausted, the poor guy!). We are at a stage now where he needs to paint all of the rooms, tile the bathroom & put the vanity & shower in... tile the laundry area, then put finish on the wood floors... A lot to accomplish in just a few short weeks... I am the opposite of you, hoping that my baby doesn't decide to come early!! haha, although it would make a more difficult labour, if she comes late, at least I know we will be ready for her!
dawniek - Sunday, 22 June Wow sounds like you have been a busy mummy. I'm sure you will be already in time for the arrival of your little man. Have you had the nesting thing yet were you just want to clean all the time? I can't stop cleaning. I just want the house to be all clean and tidy for when my baby comes home and when freinds and fam come round. We have got all the baby stuff ready. My hospital bag is all packed and birth plan. I'm getting scared too about the birth. God only knows what the pain is gona be like. All i can say is bring on the drugs lol. Anyway keep intouch. Let me know when you go into labour. Wonder who will go first. Really hope i'm a week early lol.xxxx
tdawn - Sunday, 22 June Hey, thanks for the reassurance, I think she has actually moved up higher over the past few days (if that is possible?) I had a couple of weeks where she was really low, and I actually had a good few inches of waist below my boobs... my doctor couldn't feel her head at all, and said that she was engaged. Later that week, I did some heavy lifting that I shouldn't have and I swear I felt her "pop out:" now the tummy is making a shelf for my boobs! My doctor said she was still head down, but at the last visit, he could feel her head...so I guess she did move up, or pop out of position...I have also been feeling her more often over the past couple of days, but now I know not to worry so much if she is less active, and that definitely helps!
dawniek - Saturday, 21 June Hi hun! I live in Leeds. It's done nothing but rain here today. I've been to a party tonight and we had to stay in the house. I'm feeling good thanks. I can't wait for my little man to engage so i can eat and breath again lol. Can't belive we are almost there now. Are you getting excited? How you feeling? xxxxx
galeas - Friday, 20 June Hey, I've been getting that sharp pain in my pelvis area, feels like she is clawing at me with her sharp little nails.....sometimes it stops me in my tracks and makes me jump it hurts so much!! I'm hoping it's all part of the engaging/effacing process, a sign that things are happening I hope I wont be able to tell ya more till after I see my Dr. next week though keep me posted if you find out first.
amygirl22 - Wednesday, 18 June My gram already got me a stroller. I just have to work on everything else now. LoL.
amygirl22 - Wednesday, 18 June I go July 2nd to find out if its a boy or a girl. I cant wait. Its exciting. I'd like a little girl but I'll take either. As long as its healthy.
