Sunday 13 April 2008

Hi My name is Naomi and I am pregnant with my second baby.
I have been with my partner for 8 years now, we met when i was 16 and he was 35. We had a beautiful baby girl in April 2005 called Molly, She will be 3 on the 15th. She is the most gorgeous little girl that I have ever seen.
I am now 25 weeks pregnant with a little boy, his name will be Thomas, and i can't wait to meet him. My partner is the last male in his whole family so now the surname will live on for another generation.

How`s my pregnancy doing?

. This pregnancy is totally different to my pregnancy with Molly. I didn't have any symptoms or illness with Molly. But at the beginning of this pregnancy I suffered with nausea for the first 11 weeks or so, and now I feel extremely tired all the time. I think that if there was a sleeping competition I would win!! I'm not fun to be around because I'm soo tired and I get grumpy fast. I hope this tiredness passes soon because it's getting me down.

Q. Why do We enjoy pregnancy so much?
I love being pregnant yet I feel like I'm constantly moaning about pains, aches, illness, itches, tiredness and constipation!! Seems odd that something that causes so much discomfort can be so wonderful at the same time!
I didn't have anything wrong with me when i was pregnant with Molly, no illness, not many aches or pains and only slight tiredness. But I feel very achy and painy and extremely tired with this pregnancy, yet I'm loving being pregnant again! Strange.

Tuesday 15 April 2008

Happy Birthday Molly!! 3 years old. WOW. You'll always be my beautiful baby girl.

WEEK 29!!! OMG only 11 weeks to go. I'm excited and nervous at the same time. Baby moves around so much now, and he's getting really strong. I feel enormous at the moment and every part of me aches. I'm still very tired. I've finally got a letter from the hospital to see a consultant. Because I had an emergency c-section with Molly, they just want to go over birth plans etc.

during pregnancy

Friday 4 July 2008

Hello again, well I'm now only 3 weeks away from meeting my little man, and I can't wait! I had another hospital appointment on Wednesday. I have to go because I had a c-section with Molly so they have to keep an eye on me. Anyway the doctor has totally scared the life out of me. Firstly he asked if I new what would happen if I went over my due date, I said no, he said that they usually induce you but they wouldn't want to do that to me because it would put too much pressure on my womb so they would give me another c-section, which is fine, best be safe. He then told me that he is worried about my itches. I've had unbearable itchy ankles for about 1 1/2 months now, I told my midwife about it and she took a blood test. Anyway I told the doctor at the hospital the last time I went and they took another blood test. And on Wednesday he told me that they had been sent to another hospital so he needed to take more. He is concerned that I may have developed a liver problem called Obstetric Cholestasis also known as Obstetric Jaundice. It's where the liver bile spills over to the blood stream and causes itching. The doctor then told me that they don't like to take chances with it, and if I have got it they would want to get the baby out sooner rather than later as it can cause stillbirths. Which naturally scared the living day lights out of me as it would anyone. Anyway I have to go back to doctor next Tuesday for another blood test, the only good thing is that he wants me to have another U/S for growth etc, it's good because it means I get to see my baby again YEAH!!!. Anyway If you read this please keep your fingers crossed for me.

Thanks!! I'm really excited. I'm just bummed out she couldnt get a picture of it bc he kept moving. First the umbilical cord was between his legs. Then when that moved he stuck his hands down there. LoL. Typical guy. She finally got a good shot but when she went to take the pic he moved. We have the name Evan James picked out. Its the only one we could both agree on.

Its a boy!!

oh, i sooo agree w/you about some women having kids like it's nothing & not being good mums while others would do almost anything to be able to have their own bundle of joy and just can't conceive. that pisses me off!

i don't think it's mean AT AAAALL to not want to be around someone like that. i don't talk to either of my sisters bc of their behavior. i TRY not to judge or knock their lifestyle, but i want nothing to do w/it. i don't care if someone wants to smoke dope on the wknd, that's none of my business, but i won't let my kids visit and i won't visit them if i think they do it as they please. my mother asked if she could visit w/my older son (12 YR old). i said sure! i let him go downstairs (she lived in the apt downstairs fm me). after about 1/2 hr of being there, he stooooormed back upstairs. i asked what was wrong. he told me that my sister and mother were smoking dope in the bedrm while he was watching my sister's 3 kids! oh, yes, i had a fit! i marched downstairs and confronted my mother. she said she can do what she wants in her own house! i said, "NOT when my son is down here!" we didn't talk for wks after that.

nope, you're not being mean, you're protecting yourself!

Hey there- I had the same globby/white substance and I went to the doctor...he said it was normal and not the mucus plug! I was hoping it was!! Hopefully it will happen soon though!

Hi thanks for the birth control info, I'm from the U.S. and I think we do that IUD here too as far as I know anyway.

molly2416 - Sunday, 29 June
I just got some new pictures up of the girls and of our new driveway. I'm now getting ready to take down the chicken wall paper that's in our Kitchen. Hopefully we can paint it in a few weeks as soon as I get it down. Hope all is good and hope to talk to you soon!!!

LookitsErin - Sunday, 29 June
lets hope it is.... i didn't lose mine till 41 wks with my daughter... hopefully this one won't take so long to make her debut into the world

sherryanne - Saturday, 28 June
Mmm yes, orange or strawberry sun lollies! Trouble is I keep blaming the 29lb weight gain on the baby, am beginning to wonder! lol

sherryanne - Saturday, 28 June
I know what you mean about the hospital, and the parking fees! Is a nightmare! I'll be glad when its all over too, am really starting to get uncomfortable now!

I had glucose in my urine too 3 times, I had a glucose tolerance test though and it came back normal, think its just my liking for sweets! lol, have discovered if I cut them out completely before I have a urine test it always comes back normal :)

Do you have to go to the hospital every week now or the midwife? I've not seen my midwife for a few weeks now as I've been going to the hospital, she basically said theres not much point in seeing both!

sherryanne - Friday, 27 June
Aww I'm sure lots of women with younger children feel exactly the same, I did last night, had a stupid crying episode for not much of a reason but couldnt stop! My son was asking me if I wanted to play on the PS3 with him and I felt so guilty but I couldnt! It'll all be worth it in the end :)

How did your hospital appointment go?

apreece - Thursday, 26 June
Having glucose in your urine means that your sugar is too high and is spilling over into your urine. That is one of the first indicators of diabetes.

sherryanne - Wednesday, 25 June
I know what you mean, I'm ready to have this baby now, in fact I think I was about a month ago! lol, although I'm impatient

Are you seeing your midwife/consultant again soon then? I love getting to see them as it just gives that little bit of reassurance that everything is ok, wish I could tell which way around the baby is just by feeling it, what a skill to have! Would be great!

sherryanne - Wednesday, 25 June
Its a girl :) gonna be called Bethany. I also have a son who's 11! so quite a big gap! in fact so long that the doc told me last week that I'm now considered to be pregnant for the first time again because its been so long! I've not had any problems at all so far apart from that she's breech, am hoping she'll turn soon as they have said they will try to turn her at 37 weeks and if not it'll be a cesarean. I've seen the docs quite often because I've had a lot of miscarriages in the past, luckily all early though so things are looking really good!

How has your pregnancy been?

sherryanne - Wednesday, 25 June
I kinda thought that the docs over here dont like to investigate down there unless absolutely necessary in case it interferes with anything. Well I guess we're the lucky ones

sherryanne - Wednesday, 25 June
Hiya, just saw your post in week 35, I'm in the UK too and this is my second pregnancy. I've never been checked for dilation either! Not untill I was actually in labour with my son first time around, guess its and american thing. Hope your pregnancy is going well! :)

apreece - Tuesday, 24 June
Yes, I am from the US. I'm sure that's the reason why you have not had it done. It's not a pleasant thing to have done but it is nice to know how much you have progressed from week to week.

Beckaboo - Tuesday, 24 June
 shes a cutie

Beckaboo - Tuesday, 24 June
yeah, here is USA Dr's check ya if patient is complaining of pain or discomfort. They want to make sure all is ok :) Good luck to you

apreece - Tuesday, 24 June
It is normal to be checked from now on. The dr. is checking to see if you are dilating or effaced. This lets the Dr. know about how much longer it will be before delivery and to make sure your baby is not coming to early.

jobird - Tuesday, 24 June
This entry had me LOL! I couldn't agree more!
Speaking of elephants - they are pregnant for a whole year! I know that is not too far off from a human gestation, but man if I had to go more than 9 (10) months I don't know what I'd do!!!

tdawn - Sunday, 22 June
I haven't got anything ready yet! We bought a new house, which needed renovations, and my hubby is still working on it... in the meantime we are living in a townhouse that we have been renting since we sold our last townhouse about 2 months ago. We had hoped to be finished the reno's by the end of the month, but as with all reno's it is taking much longer than expected, so I have several (well, almost all) of the baby's items in boxes and have yet to pack a hospital bag.. it has been difficult because I am anxious to have the nursery together! (As well as my house in order before the baby comes!) Also, I never see my husband... he comes home after work around 5:15, has dinner with me, and then goes to work on the house until about 1:00 am, only to go back to work the next day (he is exhausted, the poor guy!). We are at a stage now where he needs to paint all of the rooms, tile the bathroom & put the vanity & shower in... tile the laundry area, then put finish on the wood floors... A lot to accomplish in just a few short weeks... I am the opposite of you, hoping that my baby doesn't decide to come early!! haha, although it would make a more difficult labour, if she comes late, at least I know we will be ready for her!

dawniek - Sunday, 22 June
Wow sounds like you have been a busy mummy. I'm sure you will be already in time for the arrival of your little man. Have you had the nesting thing yet were you just want to clean all the time? I can't stop cleaning. I just want the house to be all clean and tidy for when my baby comes home and when freinds and fam come round.
We have got all the baby stuff ready. My hospital bag is all packed and birth plan. I'm getting scared too about the birth. God only knows what the pain is gona be like. All i can say is bring on the drugs lol.
Anyway keep intouch. Let me know when you go into labour. Wonder who will go first. Really hope i'm a week early lol.xxxx
