My Birth Story

Hello, well Thomas George David Raynor finally arrived on Friday 25th July @ 09:33am.
He weighed 7Lbs 11oz, and he is the most gorgeous little boy that I have ever seen.

On Thursday 24th July I had some BH which were slightly painful, I took no notice of them but they got more and more painful. At around 02:30 am on the Friday I told my partner that I was having pain, he said that he would take me to the hospital, but I refused saying that I wasn't sure and that I wanted a cup of tea first then see how I felt. But then I had another contraction and then realized that they were too painful to just be BH's.
I phone the hospital and they told me to come in and remember to bring my maternity notes. We got Molly dressed and took her to her grandmothers. We got to the hospital at around 3:30am. The midwife took me into the delivery suite and asked for my notes, I then realized that I had left them at home so David had to go home to get them. They then examined me and told me that I was 6cm dilated. I demanded an epidural, so the nurse got the doctor to come and put one in. At 7:30am the nurses swaps shifts. The new nurse examined me again and told me that I was fully dilated, she also told me that she could feel an ear and what felt like some fingers. She got a doctor to double check. He agreed that the baby was trying to come down ear first! He was able to turn him into the right position but he wanted me to start pushing the baby out while he guided the head, because he was worried that the baby might try and turn again. The decided to use suction, but as he did it slipped off the babys head, so he decided to use forceps but he needed to cut me. Anyway when Thomas finally came out the doc needed to sew me up. As he was sewing I kept bleeding and with every stitch I bled more. He then noticed that there was a big blood vessel and that is why I bled so much. He managed to stop the bleeding and was able to sew me up. I had to stay in hospital overnight. But Thomas is most definitely worth all the pain and I love him so much, even if I have no vagina left, just what looks like road kill between my legs!!!!
Apart from being extremely sore and tender I am feeling good and I will post some more pictures and keep you all up dated soon. I LOVE MY LITTLE BOY

Yes, I am from the US. I'm sure that's the reason why you have not had it done. It's not a pleasant thing to have done but it is nice to know how much you have progressed from week to week.

 shes a cutie

Beckaboo - Tuesday, 24 June
yeah, here is USA Dr's check ya if patient is complaining of pain or discomfort. They want to make sure all is ok :) Good luck to you

It is normal to be checked from now on. The dr. is checking to see if you are dilating or effaced. This lets the Dr. know about how much longer it will be before delivery and to make sure your baby is not coming to early.

This entry had me LOL! I couldn't agree more!
Speaking of elephants - they are pregnant for a whole year! I know that is not too far off from a human gestation, but man if I had to go more than 9 (10) months I don't know what I'd do!!!

I haven't got anything ready yet! We bought a new house, which needed renovations, and my hubby is still working on it... in the meantime we are living in a townhouse that we have been renting since we sold our last townhouse about 2 months ago. We had hoped to be finished the reno's by the end of the month, but as with all reno's it is taking much longer than expected, so I have several (well, almost all) of the baby's items in boxes and have yet to pack a hospital bag.. it has been difficult because I am anxious to have the nursery together! (As well as my house in order before the baby comes!) Also, I never see my husband... he comes home after work around 5:15, has dinner with me, and then goes to work on the house until about 1:00 am, only to go back to work the next day (he is exhausted, the poor guy!). We are at a stage now where he needs to paint all of the rooms, tile the bathroom & put the vanity & shower in... tile the laundry area, then put finish on the wood floors... A lot to accomplish in just a few short weeks... I am the opposite of you, hoping that my baby doesn't decide to come early!! haha, although it would make a more difficult labour, if she comes late, at least I know we will be ready for her!

Wow sounds like you have been a busy mummy. I'm sure you will be already in time for the arrival of your little man. Have you had the nesting thing yet were you just want to clean all the time? I can't stop cleaning. I just want the house to be all clean and tidy for when my baby comes home and when freinds and fam come round.
We have got all the baby stuff ready. My hospital bag is all packed and birth plan. I'm getting scared too about the birth. God only knows what the pain is gona be like. All i can say is bring on the drugs lol.
Anyway keep intouch. Let me know when you go into labour. Wonder who will go first. Really hope i'm a week early lol.xxxx

Hey, thanks for the reassurance, I think she has actually moved up higher over the past few days (if that is possible?) I had a couple of weeks where she was really low, and I actually had a good few inches of waist below my boobs... my doctor couldn't feel her head at all, and said that she was engaged. Later that week, I did some heavy lifting that I shouldn't have and I swear I felt her "pop out:" now the tummy is making a shelf for my boobs! My doctor said she was still head down, but at the last visit, he could feel her head...so I guess she did move up, or pop out of position...I have also been feeling her more often over the past couple of days, but now I know not to worry so much if she is less active, and that definitely helps!

Hi hun! I live in Leeds. It's done nothing but rain here today. I've been to a party tonight and we had to stay in the house.
I'm feeling good thanks. I can't wait for my little man to engage so i can eat and breath again lol. Can't belive we are almost there now. Are you getting excited? How you feeling? xxxxx

galeas - Friday, 20 June
Hey, I've been getting that sharp pain in my pelvis area, feels like she is clawing at me with her sharp little nails.....sometimes it stops me in my tracks and makes me jump it hurts so much!! I'm hoping it's all part of the engaging/effacing process, a sign that things are happening I hope I wont be able to tell ya more till after I see my Dr. next week though keep me posted if you find out first.

I go July 2nd to find out if its a boy or a girl. I cant wait. Its exciting. I'd like a little girl but I'll take either. As long as its healthy. Plus I have 2-3 people wanting to give me all their boys' newborn clothes. So if its a boy, I'm set. LoL. Hope all is well!

It doesnt really matter to me if its a boy or a girl. A little girl would be nice tho.

Things are goin good. Tired. Very tired. And I'm dizzy alot lately too. I'll have to remember to tell my doctor about that.

Nmart23 - Friday, 6 June
that is so funny that you mention the satisfying pee thing! When I go I feel like I should feel like a million bucks but right after I go I feel that I could go again. I get mad when I am in the bathroom and hear someone else go and I can tell that they feel way better, I am like thats not fair! (I know that I am weird but I am so tired of going and having hardly anything come out!)

tdawn - Thursday, 5 June
Hey Naomi, thank you for your comment. I haven't had any headaches or dizziness, just the swelling thus far, if it continues beyond today I will definitely call my doctor! I just read up on pre eclampsia, and it sounds pretty scary - if it ends up being that, I would like it to be diagnosed right away!

tinastar - Wednesday, 4 June
