My Birth Story

Hello, well Thomas George David Raynor finally arrived on Friday 25th July @ 09:33am.
He weighed 7Lbs 11oz, and he is the most gorgeous little boy that I have ever seen.

On Thursday 24th July I had some BH which were slightly painful, I took no notice of them but they got more and more painful. At around 02:30 am on the Friday I told my partner that I was having pain, he said that he would take me to the hospital, but I refused saying that I wasn't sure and that I wanted a cup of tea first then see how I felt. But then I had another contraction and then realized that they were too painful to just be BH's.
I phone the hospital and they told me to come in and remember to bring my maternity notes. We got Molly dressed and took her to her grandmothers. We got to the hospital at around 3:30am. The midwife took me into the delivery suite and asked for my notes, I then realized that I had left them at home so David had to go home to get them. They then examined me and told me that I was 6cm dilated. I demanded an epidural, so the nurse got the doctor to come and put one in. At 7:30am the nurses swaps shifts. The new nurse examined me again and told me that I was fully dilated, she also told me that she could feel an ear and what felt like some fingers. She got a doctor to double check. He agreed that the baby was trying to come down ear first! He was able to turn him into the right position but he wanted me to start pushing the baby out while he guided the head, because he was worried that the baby might try and turn again. The decided to use suction, but as he did it slipped off the babys head, so he decided to use forceps but he needed to cut me. Anyway when Thomas finally came out the doc needed to sew me up. As he was sewing I kept bleeding and with every stitch I bled more. He then noticed that there was a big blood vessel and that is why I bled so much. He managed to stop the bleeding and was able to sew me up. I had to stay in hospital overnight. But Thomas is most definitely worth all the pain and I love him so much, even if I have no vagina left, just what looks like road kill between my legs!!!!
Apart from being extremely sore and tender I am feeling good and I will post some more pictures and keep you all up dated soon. I LOVE MY LITTLE BOY

It doesnt really matter to me if its a boy or a girl. A little girl would be nice tho.

Things are goin good. Tired. Very tired. And I'm dizzy alot lately too. I'll have to remember to tell my doctor about that.

Nmart23 - Friday, 6 June
that is so funny that you mention the satisfying pee thing! When I go I feel like I should feel like a million bucks but right after I go I feel that I could go again. I get mad when I am in the bathroom and hear someone else go and I can tell that they feel way better, I am like thats not fair! (I know that I am weird but I am so tired of going and having hardly anything come out!)

Hey Naomi, thank you for your comment. I haven't had any headaches or dizziness, just the swelling thus far, if it continues beyond today I will definitely call my doctor! I just read up on pre eclampsia, and it sounds pretty scary - if it ends up being that, I would like it to be diagnosed right away!

your daughter is so adorable ! =]

Well i really really like my doctors.. but im upset they weren't the ones who told me to take the iron pills! the had mentioned i needed to eat better because it was a bit low... but never told me what i had to take... just to eat better... then i went to a WIC appointment? which is when you have a low income you can get some free food and stuff from the government.. they give you these wic checks... and you get cereal, milk, eggs, cheese, beans, juice.. and when the baby gets here you get formula if you are going to use that... so when i went to that appointment they checked me and said i need to take those because i can bleed alot more during the birth and i will be much more tired. so i have to buy them on my own! but its ok ... all my ultrasounds were free because i have insurance.. except for the 3D because thats not diagnostic.. thats just if you want to get it... and that was about 200 dollars! awww so you have one of those great accents hahaa, and your daughter too? or how old is she? i think its so cute hearing babies, and children with that accent! How was your c- section? did you get a really bad scar?
im terrified of getting an epidural too... but i will probably end up with one!

tinastar - Wednesday, 4 June
Thank you ! =] I've had 3 scans ! 4 with the 3d ones i had done. I think its different everywhere... even in the same states... every doctor does it differently... in my practice there are 5 doctors... they are alllllllll very nice! And im supposed to be getting another at 35 weeks. Ohhhhh the UK, thats niceeeee, i would love to live anywhere but here haha... I am colombian and venezuelan ... very into my culture.. and my boyfriend is from dominican republic... we want to do alot of traveling and possibly move somewhere completely different from here in the next few years... we want to raise our son somewhere different... your lucky! it must be so beautiful there ! Ohhh that would be so nice ! I hope it is as they say and it is a boy... do you have a name for him ? I DONT YET ! I'm terrified of giving birth... i watch birth videos and i just dont know how i will be able to do it. My hemoglobin is the same as yours !!!!!! I havent bought the iron tablets yet. I'm going to get them today, but my doc told me they make it even harder for us to go to the bathroom! ... so she said i could take them every other day. i feeeel so tired the same as you. I would like to do it natural... but i cant say until i am in the moment. I can see myself getting an epidural if i think i cant take it anymore. Im scared of what the contractions will feel like! Im scared of it all... but i will go as long as i can!

Hi , IM HAVING A BOY ! im so excited, and terrified. im such a nervous person ... im scared im just going to pass out and die. i just can't wait for the day to come so i can have him in my arms and not worry, i worry tooooo much! how many ultrasounds did you have? do they always say it is a boy? you should ask for another? i think im having my last u/s in 2 weeks. its crazy how much they mistaken the babies sex. when they told me at 4 months , i kept asking if they were sure... and then i got the 3d one and i think i saw for myself it was a boy, haha. my babyshower is this saturday, i cant wait =] did you have one??? well im 33 weeks today, and i have had a rough pregnancy i threw up practically the entire time except for about 1 month and a half... today was terrible i havent been able to keep annnnnnyyything down. its reallllly frustrating because i see all these people who dont get sick at all ... and im always sick... i just try to make the best of it... and i have all these little blood clots all over my face! from the force... they actually have me on meds so i dont throw up everyday... if it wasnt for that... i would never stop! now its just like once a week... but a month and a half ago .. it was EVERYDAY! and they said they would have to put me in the hospital with a feeding tube if the meds didnt work... but thank God it has worked... i have my days.. ANYWAYS, how are you feeling? are you doing a natural birth? i probably should read your entire page before i keep asking questions ! hope to hear from you soon !

Thank you so much for answering me ! I have been reading this site for my entire pregnancy and enjoy reading what you ladies write just about everyday!
But i just recently joined.. and it was the first thing i wrote ever! I was getting emotional because noone was paying any attention to me haha... thanks again Naomi!

noahsmom - Monday, 2 June
i know what you are going through. i was severely constipated with my last pregnancy which led to very painful hemorrhoids. this time around i have had bad heartburn and my doctor said it was perfectly fine to take mylanta or malox which gets rid of the heartburn and also has magnesium in it which keeps me from being constipated. wow, can i tell you what a relief this time around! i have not been constipated at all or had any hard or painful bowel movements. i dont even have to take the mylanta everyday and it still keeps me regular. you can try it being that it is considered safe. it will make you feel so much better believe me! good luck!

shirmar - Wednesday, 28 May
HIYA..I WAS FEELING THAT WAY AWEEK OR SO AGO....BELIEVE ME YOU WILL FEEL BETTER..I THINK ITS LIKE SOME KINDA CHANGE IN HORMONES.........I FELT DREADFUL FOR A WEEK..DIDNT GO OUT..HAD NO DESIRE TO DO ANYTHING,WHAT SO EVER & WAS CRYING TOO.....WAS AN ABSOLUTE DEMON TO THE KIDS...........THEN I JUST WOKE UP ONE MORNING AFTER 5-6 DAYS OF FEELING LIKE THAT & I WAS BACK TO NORMAL AGAIN & IVE BEEN GOOD SINCE..........SO CHIN UP IT'LL PASS..GOOD LUCK

babybarbados - Wednesday, 28 May
Hi Nim,
I just read your post and it sounds like you could be suffering from depression and it could be from the hormones. If you are feeling that way now It is likely you could suffer from post pardum depression as well. You don't have to suffer. Tell your dr how you are feeling. There are things you can do to improve it. It will be better for yourself as well as for your children if you get some help with it.

kerry1983 - Wednesday, 28 May
i know i was so scared of giving birth but now as time goes on i am finding it a bit less scary as i know that at the end i will be holding our little miracle baby at last ! i cant wait to actualy find out what were having and seeing what it looks like maybe thats what is making the labour and birth seem a lot more exciting than it should be !! xx

kerry1983 - Tuesday, 27 May
arh well not long now !! i have had the easiest pregnancy ever no morning sickness or anything i had stretch marks on my boob but they dissappeared the next day !!! so i hope the birth and everything after is going to be just as good ! so where are you from ? xx

kerry1983 - Tuesday, 27 May
we dont know yet we wanted to keep it as a surprise i think i would like a boy for this 1 and then try for a girl but i will be extremely happy to have this baby at last . yea that clairvoyant thing was fun thing to do on the internet you put in a few details and it predicts your labour and birth experience but i have done about 10 and all of them say something different !! xx

BABYFOUNTAIN - Tuesday, 27 May
the name does sound like a king or princes. his pawpaw raised him and his name is charles and his dads middle name is edward. my brother and pawpaws middle names are andrew and i always liked it. my husband has red hair so all i could think of was my son doesn't have a chance, charles edward and red hair, i just couldn't do that to him.

i think your sons name is great. and i love molly that is so sweet.

kerry1983 - Tuesday, 27 May
hey huni thanks for the comments and congratulations to you too do you know what your having yet ? xx

BABYFOUNTAIN - Tuesday, 27 May
