12 WEEK SCAN

10 years since I had my daughter...I have been 'broody' for a year or so and could hear my biological clock tick. Nothing seemed to matter as much as planning for our 2nd child.

I am constantly trying to hide the fact that I am a nervous wreck, worrying if everything is ok. It must be because of my age and how much I want it this time. Children are so precious.

God could not be everywhere, and therefore He created mothers ~Jewish Proverb

Hello Nina!! Oh I didn't know you've had itchy boobs the whole way through -- you poor thing! is it a rash or just constant itching? That is horrible! did you try calamine lotion? How's the belly? Don't worry about how much weight you've gained! I don't even know how much I've gained! I would not dare check now! But back at week 30 or so I think I had gained 2.5 stone, so I'm guessing it's WAY MORE now! I might actually check today, justout of curiosity! What are you up to for your last few days of pregnancy then?! I can't believe we're all going in the same week! Me, you, Karen, and Julie.. actually I havent talked to julie in ages... I bet you don't miss work AT ALL... are you all prepared for babs? How's esme doing ? is she jealous yet do you reckon?! Or do you think she'll take on the big sister role with gusto?! xxx

Hey sweet friend!! Thanks for your message! Sorry it's been so long; I am rushign to get work done for uni before Tuesday! ARGH! Only a few days left for us woman! Are u excited?! I know what you mean about being irritable; I get like that too but mostly I am managing to not bite people's heads off! Trying my best! the main thingwrong with me is my itching belly, jesus christ it is driving me mad -- bad enough I have stretchmarks now, but they have a feckin RASH in them , which is SO itchy but then when i scratch it's sore... I keep lathering on the lotions, oils, and aloe vera... It's driving me mad! Dying to get these babies out here!! Fingers crossed for all of us they will all be healthy babies! So are you nervous? all ready?! xxx love n xxx

Yay. I'm glad your baby turned for you. I'm hopeful. Thanks for sharing. Did you do anything to help the baby turn? Did you feel it when it happened?

mrsssh - Wednesday, 16 April
Yeah, you go the day after me!

Just seen my friend whose baby is 6 months old now. Little Ruby was born by emergency C-section last November, and though her Mum Ame would have LOVED to have birthed her normally she has told me that the c-section wasn't an awful experience by far. It's always good to hear :-)
Was going to do housework today, but thats feel by the wayside I'm afraid! oh well, wont hurt for one day eh?

Sounds like you maybe visiting the loo a bit over the next few days - all that orange juice!!!!

I was dreading not be able to find the sex of our baby out. I was convinced he wouldn't show his bits to us! Lol. It started to drive me mad! but hey, what an amazing surprise you've got in store eh? I can't wait to find out either! Lol.

Hi Nina!

Thanks for the message. Don't picture this for heavens sake, but when I look in the mirror naked, I can't help but think of a HUGE pumpkin with 2 pathetic pastie on top of it - thats what I look like (Though not orange obviously! Lol). Pah.
Thanks for the advice about the c-section, at least its not painful then, thats a big relief. Tugging I can deal with. I feel really calm right now, but am worried I'm just going to snap at some point. Lol. I have visions of nurses etc chasing me down the hospital corridor and having to rugby tackle me! Lol.
Are you going for a natural birth this time round then? If so, I think your amazingly brave :-)

XXXXXXXX

P.S I love the name Esme by the way. We're calling our little fella Asher Savini :-)

mrsssh - Tuesday, 15 April
Hi ya!

Thanks for the email. It's nice to hear from someone who has been there before me :-) I have made a few requests of my own - numbness is good! Lol. I have asked for disolvable stitches if at all possible and regular pain relief.
I am nervous of the unknown and what the operation will feel like - I've never had anything done before and find it weird to know I will be awake and hopefully chatting whilst someone is rumaging around in my gut! Lol. The hospital I am going to has a good name when it comes to maternity stuff whihc is good to know.
I have an appointment on Thursday there to talk to my obstertric anaesthetist about what drugs I want/don't want and what they will do to me. I think I'll feel a bit better after this you know?
I take it since you have no worries about the c-section the operation first time round wasn't too bad? How did you feel when they pulled your little one out and you saw them for the first time? Was it crazy mad? Lol.

Thanks for th e note. I still don't feel so great today, and the diarrhea has shown no signs of letting up. I've had it non stop since Friday, so I'm thinking I should call the doctors office tomorrow just to see what they think. Yuck.

Your nursery looks terrific!
