Saturday, 3 May But it's not far away at the same time! It's really only a month! I still can't believe it. But it's so exciting. Hope everything goes well for you and your little princess. Angiepangie -
Friday, 2 May No problem!...I like to help when I can. This forum has been rewarding for me...I didn't realize how much I missed helping people (I haven't worked since 2003)...and I'm learning new things too! Angiepangie -
Friday, 2 May Definitely NOT a stupid question. With a vaginal birth, you can bleed up to 2 or 3 weeks, especially if you breast feed, as nursing causes uterine contractions, which make it bleed at this stage.(meaning while it shrinks back to its pre- pregnancy size). It's VERY heavy for the first 2 to 4 days...you change overnight pads less than every hour at first(lots of large clots). By day 4 its like a bad period, with the occasional clot. After that, and until it stops, it more manageable(meaning you don't have to be afraid of standing up and bleeding through your pad suddenly). With a c-section the vaginal bleeding isn't as bad, because when they scoop out your placenta, they cauterize any of the really heavily bleeding vessels, so the heavy bleeding only lasts about 2 days max, but you're in a lot more pain when you have a uterine contraction during nursing because of the incision. Bleeding or weeping from the incision site can happen too, so you're stuck with 2 problems areas for a while. The bleeding stops about 7 to 10 days post partum if there are no complications with the incision. Hope this helps. mariela14 -
Friday, 2 May This is my first too but you usually bleed for a couple weeks at least. Some women bleed longer than others, but it's generally a couple weeks. The really heavy bleeding is just like 3 days. And yes you do bleed even if you have a c-section. Your body has to get rid of all the excess blood and fluid that's accumulated in your body for the last 9 months! pargy -
