Hey, nothing here yet!

I am almost 7 weeks pregnant with Baby number 5. I'm excited, overwhelmed, nauseous, very tired. Anybody want me to share my experiences, joys, I will tell you whatever you want to know from what I've been through. childbirth has overall been a very blessed experience....children are a gift from the Lord. If any of you are scared or just want some encouragement, read from the Bible Psalm 139. My kids memorized it 2 years ago-tells us how much God loves us and our babies. If you don't have a relationship with Him, it makes parenting, an already very difficult, overwhelming task, something to be done well, when we lean on Him, the Creator of all. Life can be very hard, but He is faithful to those who seek Him! We weren't really trying hard, contemplating but thinking we were "done". My now "baby" is 4. Here we go again. My husband was in ER Thanksgiving morning-lightheaded, chest and arm tingling, pass out hit his head and ribs on the floor and been having episodes for a week. A bit better now...but docs are doing all they can to check out his heart, head, thyroid-we're chocking it all up as stress (poor guy work is so crazy hard and then I give him that positive preg test) and possible reaction to flu shot-reactions began an hour after. GOD HAS BEEN FAITHFUL. My new Ob has been so kind-has done 2 ultrasounds...saw Baby's heartbeat on Monday-says with my age and health this lowers risk of miscarriage to 3%...somewhat comforting. I can't stop sleeping and feeling nausous, though. DOLE'S strawberry fruit bars-yum! and anything lemon-limey, or orange.

Dec.5....Boy the nausea is not fun but Unisom helping. SOoooooooo sleepy. I am soooooooo thankful because CHILDREN ARE A GIFT OF GOD! I can't wait till my next appt. next Wed.!

Dec. 30...Was feeling better overall and last 48 hours the nausea has been back 24/7. Mid of night is worse-had to eat at midnight last night. I'm so hopeful for things to get better soon and I can almost touch 2nd trimester. Am really liking lemonade now. I'm so thankful for this holiday break!! Seems like forever till the 11th for my next u/s and appt. I feel kind of silly but I'm totally in maternity clothes now!

Jan. 14...am still battling nausea at random times of days. 3-5 AM this morning was rough...overall a bit more energy to function around here-just having to eat cheeseburgers and ice cream way too much (only things that really satisfy me for a long time, between apples, pineapple, bagels, etc). Round ligament pain seems worse this time than others. I hope that's all it is-lower right side jabbing pains. The Lord is good to me. Please, I ask Him, allow the nausea to say bye bye for good.

Feb.1 still some nausea here and there...been feeling baby since week 12 or 13...doc said not out of question for 5th baby. I'm feeling him/her most days now. MUCH BETTER overall-very thankful for that!! We may find out the gender on the 8th! God is so very kind!

Feb. 8 We're having a boy! My oldest child and only son who will be 10 years older, is very excited. I've been having a hard time sleeping b/c I'm looking at baby bedding online, etc. (:

Mod Turtle Musical Mobile

Anyone want to give me ideas on color for room-something that might work ok if we have to change it to a girl room a year later-light blue, yellow? I don't know....also WHICH MOBILE DO YOU LIKE BETTER TO GO WITH BEDDING?

*Okay so I don't know why this won't copy and paste the bedding but it's at potterybarn kids and it's navy, blue, and white striped-maybe called KASEY (?)

Thanks...almost 18 weeks tomorrow!!

April 11....I am excited because my baby shower is a week from MOnday. I might get to see a lot of friends with whom I grew up and have talked to but not seen in a while. My husband was a part of a huge lay off at work so while that's stressful, The Lord is giving his "peace that passes understanding." I know He is going to take care of us. Hubby is home working on finding a job but when he has spare moments he is getting the baby's room ready. I'm thrilled.
A bit of nausea trying to come back on, back is not happy (hips and rear-normal stuff for me -have to do PT exercies), very hungry and tired (anemia still?) BUT I SERVE AN AWESOME GOD WHO CREATED THIS baby boy, and I am so thankful for his kicks and squirms, yes even in my hip bone. (:

Thank you for your comments! It just started getting to me... I'd hate to think I was doing anything wrong for the baby... it is my first. I'm 5'5" and before I got pregnant I was 118lbs. I am a natural grazer and eat all the time - always a bag of something open near me. While I've been pregnant I've been craving fruit and cold drinks like nobody's business and I don't deprive myself of anything - just eat whatever suits me. So thank you for making me feel better!
I hope you are having a great pregnancy and everything is going smoothly! Good luck with your baby boy!!
Kris

car seat and stroller (combination)?
swing is helpful (dinner time we've liked)
You could even ask for Visa or Babies R Us gift cards
then you can get what you need
diapers are good, wipes
plenty of burp cloths and lap pads-can't have enough
diaper changing area-either a diaper changing pad on a desk or dresser or a table that is for that
crib set
little lamp for room-maybe a comfy la z boy or rocker in the room if you plan to nurse in the night
bouncy seat (vibrating is nice though I don't use it to teach the baby to go to sleep with all the time)
passifiers
diaper bag(s)
10-20 onesies (with and without sleeves)
blanket sleepers
plenty of blankets (Swaddle me blankets are nice)
crib sheets
baby book/photo album
gowns for first weeks great in the night -easier to change diaper than snaps.
Medela double breast pump if you nurse
bottles (I like born Free)
some baby clothes of course
exersaucer when baby is sitting up a bit
jumper thing to hang from a doorway
highchair
baby bath (I'm using the big bear sponge this time)
bathtime soaps, shampoo, lotion
diaper ointment
play gym for him/her to look at while on floor, back or tummy
side sleeper to help him stay on back or side at night/naps
thermometer (I found under the arm is best for us-you add a degree to whatever it reads)
bibs in case he/she is messy from the beginning-some spit up more than others
little baby nail clippers
if boy, alcohol wipes and Vaseline
Tylenol and Mylicon on hand
Boppy pillow great for nursing and other uses down the line
some formula on hand
modestmommycover.com hope to get one of these
slinglings.com got one of these at my shower
Ergo carrier want one of those too (online) or a Snugli
PLAYPEN/bassinet combo or just bassinet and a playpen
mobile for crib
hooded towels, washcloths
shoppiing cart cover nice to have
Me in the Mirror toy for car

HOPE THAT HELPS!

I am pasting this list because many have asked on here what do I "need" for my first baby so I am putting it on here so I don't have to think/type more times. (: I love answering those questions though because I'm a planning freak I guess.

BrandiL - Tuesday, 29 April
True. I had twins the first one, and they are 3 1/2 so most baby stuff got tossed. When do you have one?
With them I was soooo sick I had to do it after they were born, and one was still in the NICU. Is it better afterwards or before? We dont know what it is.

singlemommym - Tuesday, 29 April
I'm due in August and having a boy. It's my second (my first is from my previous marriage). I'm very excited but also a little scared. Thanks for the support!

momof2oneonway! - Monday, 28 April
yeah this is our third child, have two boys age 7 and 4 and she is a girl so I decied to have one again :)

mjeans - Sunday, 27 April
Wow, you are a 'seasoned mommy' veteran aren't you? I only have one other child and he will be 16 this August, so similar to yourself October/November seem to be 'closer times' for us as well...lol. Although its not great to be preggers in the summer, it is nice to have the babies in the summer and not have to worry about layers upon layers until they are a little older...have fun and your u/s and make sure you post some photos!

mjeans - Sunday, 27 April
You're lucky to get the u/s for free, but I'll tell you I would pay again in a heartbeat...it is an amazing experience...make sure you drink a sweet drink (like grape juice) at least an hour prior to the baby is alert...our little guy was facing my spine at first and we had to jostle him around a bit...good luck with yours on Friday and enjoy!

samlib - Sunday, 27 April
i feel the same way!!
i can hardly breathe!! i sneezed all day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

teresa262 - Sunday, 27 April
Thanks for the advice, i was thinking about a spa gift card but did not know if that was to impersonal. I am so jealous that you already had your shower. Mine is not until May 10th and have known about it for three months, so needless to say I am anxious as all get out. Well you should post some pics of your gifts. I still can't find something that I feel "pretty" in. Everything looks like a moo moo. Thanks again, and congrats

samlib - Sunday, 27 April
