Hey, nothing here yet!

I am almost 7 weeks pregnant with Baby number 5. I'm excited, overwhelmed, nauseous, very tired. Anybody want me to share my experiences, joys, I will tell you whatever you want to know from what I've been through. childbirth has overall been a very blessed experience....children are a gift from the Lord. If any of you are scared or just want some encouragement, read from the Bible Psalm 139. My kids memorized it 2 years ago-tells us how much God loves us and our babies. If you don't have a relationship with Him, it makes parenting, an already very difficult, overwhelming task, something to be done well, when we lean on Him, the Creator of all. Life can be very hard, but He is faithful to those who seek Him! We weren't really trying hard, contemplating but thinking we were "done". My now "baby" is 4. Here we go again. My husband was in ER Thanksgiving morning-lightheaded, chest and arm tingling, pass out hit his head and ribs on the floor and been having episodes for a week. A bit better now...but docs are doing all they can to check out his heart, head, thyroid-we're chocking it all up as stress (poor guy work is so crazy hard and then I give him that positive preg test) and possible reaction to flu shot-reactions began an hour after. GOD HAS BEEN FAITHFUL. My new Ob has been so kind-has done 2 ultrasounds...saw Baby's heartbeat on Monday-says with my age and health this lowers risk of miscarriage to 3%...somewhat comforting. I can't stop sleeping and feeling nausous, though. DOLE'S strawberry fruit bars-yum! and anything lemon-limey, or orange.

Dec.5....Boy the nausea is not fun but Unisom helping. SOoooooooo sleepy. I am soooooooo thankful because CHILDREN ARE A GIFT OF GOD! I can't wait till my next appt. next Wed.!

Dec. 30...Was feeling better overall and last 48 hours the nausea has been back 24/7. Mid of night is worse-had to eat at midnight last night. I'm so hopeful for things to get better soon and I can almost touch 2nd trimester. Am really liking lemonade now. I'm so thankful for this holiday break!! Seems like forever till the 11th for my next u/s and appt. I feel kind of silly but I'm totally in maternity clothes now!

Jan. 14...am still battling nausea at random times of days. 3-5 AM this morning was rough...overall a bit more energy to function around here-just having to eat cheeseburgers and ice cream way too much (only things that really satisfy me for a long time, between apples, pineapple, bagels, etc). Round ligament pain seems worse this time than others. I hope that's all it is-lower right side jabbing pains. The Lord is good to me. Please, I ask Him, allow the nausea to say bye bye for good.

Feb.1 still some nausea here and there...been feeling baby since week 12 or 13...doc said not out of question for 5th baby. I'm feeling him/her most days now. MUCH BETTER overall-very thankful for that!! We may find out the gender on the 8th! God is so very kind!

Feb. 8 We're having a boy! My oldest child and only son who will be 10 years older, is very excited. I've been having a hard time sleeping b/c I'm looking at baby bedding online, etc. (:

Mod Turtle Musical Mobile

Anyone want to give me ideas on color for room-something that might work ok if we have to change it to a girl room a year later-light blue, yellow? I don't know....also WHICH MOBILE DO YOU LIKE BETTER TO GO WITH BEDDING?

*Okay so I don't know why this won't copy and paste the bedding but it's at potterybarn kids and it's navy, blue, and white striped-maybe called KASEY (?)

Thanks...almost 18 weeks tomorrow!!

April 11....I am excited because my baby shower is a week from MOnday. I might get to see a lot of friends with whom I grew up and have talked to but not seen in a while. My husband was a part of a huge lay off at work so while that's stressful, The Lord is giving his "peace that passes understanding." I know He is going to take care of us. Hubby is home working on finding a job but when he has spare moments he is getting the baby's room ready. I'm thrilled.
A bit of nausea trying to come back on, back is not happy (hips and rear-normal stuff for me -have to do PT exercies), very hungry and tired (anemia still?) BUT I SERVE AN AWESOME GOD WHO CREATED THIS baby boy, and I am so thankful for his kicks and squirms, yes even in my hip bone. (:

Someone just encouraged me yesterday by telling me I am a child of the King and so are you. There is nothing to hard for God as long as you seek him and believe that he will come through. My prayers are with you and your family. Be Blessed.

I am sorry to hear about your hubby losing his job. I will definitely say a prayer for you both...and the kids. But you are right, God is in control and He has your highest good in mind, so you can trust his heart even when you cant trace his hand!

This was in an email I received from a friend at just the right time when I needed to hear it. I hope it helps you :)

Malachi 3:3 says: 'He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver.'
This verse puzzled some women in a Bible study and they wondered what this statement meant about the character and nature of God.
One of the women offered to find out the process of refining silver and get back to the group at their next Bible Study.
That week, the woman called a silversmith and made an appointment to watch him at work. She didn't mention anything about the reason for her interest beyond her curiosity about the process of refining Silver.
As she watched the silversmith, he held a piece of silver over the fire and let it heat up. He explained that in refining silver, one needed to hold the silver in the middle of the fire where the flames were hottest as to burn away all the impurities.
The woman thought about God holding us in such a hot spot; then she thought again about the verse that says: 'He sits as a refiner and purifier of silver.'
She asked the silversmith if it was true that he had to sit there in front of the fire the whole time.
The man answered that yes, he not only had to sit there holding the silver, but he had to keep his eyes on the silver the entire time it was in the fire. If the silver was left a moment too long in the flames, it would be destroyed.
The woman was silent for a moment. Then she asked the silversmith, 'How do you know when the silver is fully refined?'

He smiled at her and answered, 'Oh, that is easy -- when I see my image in it.'
If today you are feeling the heat of the fire , remember that God has his eye on you and will keep watching you until He sees His image in you.

Everything works out for the good in the end. We are going through a similar experience right now. We are slef employed and own a one truck trucking company and the price of fuel is killing us and business is slow in these months. But I have done everything that I can do and now I have to just give it to God and let him bring us through it. There is a plan in everything, whether it be to improve our character or our spiritual lives with him, there is purpose in everything. Remember that even though you are in the middle of the storm, the Lord is there and will calm it. God bless and you are in my prayers :)

Oh believe me! I have gotten out of doing most of the housework and laundry during pregnancy! My hubs doesn't want me cleaning bathroom and smelling cleaners! However, latex paint is perfectly safe to smell during pregnancy, and I want to get it done or I have to live with all of the furniture in my living room for a longer period of time! I am just being LAZY!!

I was told by my 3d/4d tech that lots and lots of water help the clarity of the scan. It is hard for me because I always have to pee so much anyway! But her advice was to drink tons of water!

Thanks for your advice...unfortunately, my only point of contact so far has been the midwife - an ob hasn't even been mentioned and when I requested an early scan for reassurnace, I was told, in no uncertain terms that the only way I would qulaify for this was if I started to bleed! I also enquired about blood tests but was told that that was not an option. I have discovered that early pregnancy care in my county (Cornwall, UK) does not seem to exist!!!

Shmylii - Thursday, 6 Mar
