Since I really sucked at keeping a pregnancy journal on here and it was pretty much empty, I'm going to be adding her pictures all on this page, it's much easier to access.

I just looked up the bottles on the Playtex site and yes the VentAire's do have the BPA, so tomorrow I'm off to the store to pick up the Playtex liner system instead. Thanks for the update!

I was a nanny and that experience has solidified the fact that you can't trust anyone. I knew so many nannies that on paper and in person seemed so wonderful but then you'd go on playdates with them and it was just the opposite. I was friends with a nanny (wonderful person, horrible nanny) who at one playdate took the little girl in the bathroom to feed her her lunch, I can still remember what the lunch looked like and this had to of been at least 5 or 6 years ago! Anyway, the little girl didn't want to eat she was 1.5 at the time and so the nanny took her in the bathroom and force fed her. When they came out the little girl was all red from crying and she had marks on her cheeks which I assume were from the nanny pinching them to get her to open her mouth. I was horrified. If that happened now I would go to the parents but at the time I was young and had no idea what to do so of course I did nothing :-(. I was with the same family for 4 years and still go and see the two girls I cared for all the time. The nanny that replaced me was talking about how her friend spanked her baby for not eating and then he ate and how it worked, I was horrified! I think everyone should be a Mom before they are a childcare provider. I was a great nanny but I am such a better Mom and I guarantee you that if I were to be a nanny again I would do a lot better job. Once you realize how much someone loves that child it changes everything. I don't mean to scare you. Do a ton of research on the daycare you plan on using. Our neighbors have had some pretty bad experiences with daycares but my guess is that they didn't do much research at all. I would ask for a ton of references and post on craigslist (if you have that) in your area to see if anyone has used them and what their experience was. I hope I'm not terrifying you! There are a lot of great child care providers, you just have to find them!

I read that in Canada it was a total recall for any bpa bottles, in the US we aren't so lucky and this is the first I've even heard about anyone willing to take them back so I'm way excited. My son has had very few bottles so I'm not quite sure what I'll do with the new ones :-). I'll probably just save them for my next baby in case he/she has problems latching or if I have to have a babysitter or something. I'm horrible about leaving my son, I get so anxious just thinking about being away from him. I know it's not good for me or him but I just can't help it! Someday I'll do it..... :-).

I also totally agree with you on the whole organic subject. I try to buy organic foods, especially for the kids (I also have a 2 1/2 year old). All her toddler snacks are from the organic section and most of her juices (which I dilute with water to make them last longer since they are on the expensive side) are organic too! My mom also is nearly 100% organic, she gets all the cow's milk from organic farmers with no hormones and same with juices and fruits, snacks, and veggies. Both her and my dad have hardly any health problems and are doing great in their lower 50's!! Good luck with everything! Also, which bottles are the ones to get that don't have the plastic chemical issues and which ones are the ones that have the issues most in them?

LOL You didn't confuse me. That sounds good, I think I'll do that around 1-2 months. Maybe I'll also be lucky and avoid most of the engorgement issues. I really can't feed off the left anymore, so I'm feeding just on the right. I'm sure eventually the left will just dry up and the right will do most of the work until I'm done with it too lol. The emotional part is what gets me because the bond is so great and I love to feed her, but I heard after a few months off the breast it gets better. Thanks for the advice! I know! It's so strange! Bodily fluids are all the rage in our house now. My boyfriend and I discuss my lactation at length, my breast milk amount, my sore nipples, our daughter's discharge (it's normal -- he freaked out about an infection), and he passed gas REALLY loud today on accident and got all embarrassed. When he apologized, I said, "Don't worry, I hear it from the baby all the time." It's so weird to be so comfortable talking about these things.

Yup! She's been wetting diapers consistently and also had a HUGE bowel movement last night. It was massive and thick like something you would get out of a blender. Today her poo is a little more solid but not much, and it's changing color, so I think she's going to be okay. She just needed to nurse (she was cluster feeding for two days) and get it all out of her system. :)
