Monday, 26 May Thank you for the advice! I hope I'll get a good midwife that will be there throughout :-) (wishful thinking)
I hope I can cope with the pain - I'd like to not get an epidural if I can. I dont like the idea of getting a big fat needle stuck in to my spine :-/
And again, congrats on you baby - wish you both all the best!

Monday, 26 May Hi!
My internet has been down - damn internet!
I went for my 41+3 at the hospital today and they are inducing me slowly on friday when I am officially 42 full weeks. She could barely strip my membranes as she almost couldn't get a finger in there...I guess that must mean I am only around 1cm dialated then..not sure?!
How's everything with your new gorgeous baby?
I wish it was over - I'm a bit scared of the pain I'm about to endure :-)

Thursday, 22 May Have you had an ultrasound to check the position of the baby? I went 12 days post date with my first. Unfortunately I needed a c-section...they did an ultrasound 10 days post date (after 2 days of induction attempts with cervidil) and saw the umbilical cord was wrapped around his neck twice, so he had very little hope of having a safe vaginal delivery. Some times there is a good reason you're not going into labour. Check it out if you haven't. Good luck! angelbabies14 -
Wednesday, 21 May try some holistic measure of inducing yourself, do a search online there are a lot ways to try if you are uncomfortable with them giving meds to induce. As long as baby is safe I would go with your gut! But then again I don't know what I would do if I was 2 weeks over due I'm only entering week 34. alex76 -
Wednesday, 21 May Hi there, I really sympathise with you, I went 10 days over first time and I was the same - a total emotional wreck, if someone phoned or asked me if I had the baby I'd burst into tears. Speak to your Midwife about your fears and take their advice on what they think is best, you'll be surprised just how sympathetic and understanding they will be. Good luck with your decision. danish-girl -

Wednesday, 21 May overdueandfrustrated >> I totally share your point of view and after being examined tomorrow - if everything looks perfect I'd definitely wait for induction until you are 42+0. It is better for both baby and you to let it happen naturally. My baby's weight was estimated at 10lbs 5 days ago when I was 40+0. I'd still rather go to 42+0 to get induced (which takes up to 5 days here because they do it the slow and softer way) and end up giving birth to a huge baby naturally than getting induced. Thats my opinion. I know there's a very different attitude towards it in the US though. Hope it helps. I wish you and your baby good luck and all the best! Lina x catesgirlz -
Wednesday, 21 May I know how crap and confused you feel. Two of mine were 10 days over.. Have you considered another sweep? get someone else to do one, some people have the knack and some don't. With my first I had 2, after the first they booked me for induction and the day before I was going for it my little girl came. If this is your first baby, I would really listen to your docs/ midwife re induction. Very rarely do births go as you had them planned in your head.... Laura Ward -
