We're expecting a baby girl on Feb. 6, 2008, and her name is Keira Ariel. This is our first child, and we're so excited!

26 January 2008- (Week 38)
I've got 4 more NSTs scheduled (two per week), although one of them is scheduled for the day after my due date! Everything is going really well at this point. My last NST showed that my fluid levels are very good and Keira is quite active.
I have my next OB appointment scheduled for next week- which will put me in week 39. My doctor plans on doing my first internal exam then, and I'm nervous about it. Honestly, I really don't care how much I'm effaced or dilated since those measurements aren't real good indicators as to how close or far away will be. I have occasional BH contractions, but I really don't feel like I'm any closer to the big day.
My little girl has been continuing to change positions on me, from breech to vertex, to oblique, to transverse, and back again to vertex. She loves to move around a lot! I still haven't dropped yet, so this could be why it's so easy for Keira to flip around. My doctor told me at my last appointment that if Keira is still floating freely around at week 39, then she wants to schedule me for delivery (either C-section if breech/transverse/oblique, or vaginal delivery if she's vertex) at week 41. I would love to schedule the delivery for Valentine's Day. I guess it will be up to Keira if she wants to wait that long, though!
01 February 2008- (Week 39)
***Warning- Rant Alert!!!***I am beginning to really dislike my OB's office. Maybe it's because I've been going there once a week for the past two months. Maybe it's because I'm really pregnant now and am sick of nothing happening. I'm pretty sure I know the
real reason, though!
Here's why: the wait. I'm a fairly tolerant individual. I understand that things can pop up in any doctor's office, and there can be wait times that are longer than normal. However, at my OB's office, extremely long wait times happen at every appointment! I always arrive on time, if not a few minutes early to my appointments. Then I end up waiting in the reception area for anywhere from
45 to
90 minutes! After that, when I do actually make it to the exam room, I have to wait for
another 20 minutes for the nurse. Then it's another
30 minutes until the doctor comes in. The doctor sees me for no more than 10 minutes, and then she's off.
So if I have a weekly appointment scheduled at 10:00am, I normally don't get into the exam room until 11:00am, and the doctor doesn't arrive until 11:30am. If I arrived 90 minutes late to my appointment, the OB's office would tell me to reschedule- and most likely charge me for it! Why can't the office simply schedule me for 11:30am instead of 10:00am so I don't have to waste my time?! Is that too much to ask for?
