Had my weekly ultrasound. All is well. Heartbeats both in the 150s. Dr wants to deliver on 3/28, which would make me right about at 37 weeks. At Monday's past appointment with the neonatologist, the boys measured A 3lbs 12oz and B 4 lbs 2oz. They sound like little ones. Time will only tell.

The boys are still hanging in there! I had my first biophysical profile done today and will continue to weekly, until I give birth. Fluids looked well. Babies were moving beautifully. Things couldn't have gone greater.

I never thought in my life that holding these babies in would be so hard. I am proud of myself yet, still in excruciating pain. Another day, another doctors visit. My ultrasound today showed that Baby A is already consistantly doing his practice breathing and would be fine in the outside world, should he decide to make me happy and come out. LOL! On the other hand, Baby B is sometimey with his practice breathing. The Dr. pointed out when he was breathing and then where he would stop. Two more weeks remaining for this to all be over. I love being pregnant, but I am not loving this excruciating pain I am having on my pubic bone.

It's been a little while since I have been here due to the delivery of the twins. I haven't even got to tell my story about the delivery so I guess I'll rewind for a bit.... The night/morning of March 17th, I woke up having a lot of contractions but I didn't think anything of it considering I had been contracting a lot anyway, but this time I felt different. At 3 something AM I decided to scoot out of the bed and take a shower because I just wasn't feeling right and figured it should relax me. Well as I was scooting, I felt a little leak. I knew from then on, what was up. So proceeded with my shower and everything. I had my husband give me a massage and I decided I would take a nap until my eldest daughter went to school and I knew the doctor's office was open. I had all of my bags together and was ready to go. When I got to the doctor, a nurse practitioner checked me and said I was 2cm dialated and did 2 tests to see if I was in labor and if my membranes had ruptured. One came back positive and the other came back negative. So as she leave, my Dr. comes into my room saying I'm in early labor and let's go ahead and deliver. Boy was I happy! To my great fortune, I delivered 2 healthy little boys at 35 weeks gestation to the day! Baby A, Josiah weighed 4lbs 14oz and Baby B, Joe'l weighed 5lbs 3 oz. They were good sizes considering I wasn't due until April 22nd. Josiah was our grunter and we thought he was going to end up needing assistance with breathing. Also he needed photo therapy for his jaundice for a day. With time and the will of God, that passed.
Today, my son's are 12 days old and are doing fantastic. They eat every 3 hours and are all around calm natured children. Joe'l is cool and laid back. More patient than Josiah is. Josiah wants his feeding immediately and will clearly make that be known. They do both sleep and wake at the same time which is good I think, so that I am not up around the clock as one sleeps, with one waking up. Having twins is not as hard as I thought it was going to be.....For right now at least... lol... I hope those who have multiples are having as much of a great experience as I.

Well, the boys are 1 day short of being 7 weeks and to be honest, these 7 weeks have been a blur. Still eating at LEAST every 4 hours and still on the Similac NeoSure formula for preemies. Josiah sleeps so well. He's my older yet smaller boy. Very cool, calm, and laid back. Joe'l on the other hand, we've nicknamed him Mr Greedy because he can finish a 4 oz bottle and then one hour following, is expecting to be fed again. Also, he's having some severe gas issues. I've figured out how to kinda tame them by burping him half way through his feedings and then after he finishes. He sleeps better on his belly so when I am awake, I let him. During the nights, we roll a blanket and put it behind him to keep him on his side. All in all, they are doing very well. We still haven't got on a schedule. Just taking things one day at a time.
Zanaida, my 11 month old, I think is begining to realize that there are other babies in our home. Before, she was completely oblivious as to what was going on. She is very curious. When I am holdin gher brothers, she likes to come over and give kisses, which really consist of her licking them. lol...Her birthday is the 22nd of this month so we are preparing to have her a birthday party. She gets to go to Sea World too!
Imara is just soaking it all in. She went from being the only child to having 3 siblings in a matter of a year and a half. She enjoys being the big sister though. From what I can tell at least. Although she is 5 years older than her sister, they share an inseperable sisterly bond. I leave them playing in their room ad when I come back, Zanaida is dressed in Imara's princess costume wear and they are having a ball. lol... As far as Imara is concerned, her sister is a real life doll.
And about me, I had my tubal ligation done last week so I am still sore from that. I plan on returning back to work on the 26th of this month, even though I really don't want to. Time flies by too quickly as it is and don't want to miss a moment in my kids life. But, I am only one person and money has to be made so I do what I have to. It sure was pleasant being off from work for the past 5 months. Back to business!
LIFE IS GOOD!

well all of you keep well and kiss the babies and rub the bellies. |
