DECEMBER 6th

Crazy appt. I am up 21 pounds. But my uterus hadn't grown from my appt two weeks ago. So... they had me go for an ultrasound to check my fluids, placenta, baby. Fluids and placenta are good. Baby is in the 20th percentile, which they think is strange considering my last kid was 8 pounds 11 oz at birth. This one weighs around 5 pounds, 8 ounces right now. So, when I go in next week they'll measure me again, decide whether I need another ultrasound and decide whether or not to induce if this kiddo isn't thriving in there anymore. I am not at all effaced or dilated yet, though. Fingers crossed that everything is okay. !!!

NOVEMBER 7th

I passed my long GD test. :woo: And I am up 18 pounds so far. Not shabby!

OCTOBER 19th

I did my 3/4 hour gestational diabetes test today. It wasn't SO bad. I got a little dizzy by the thrid blood draw. And I stuffed my face when it was all done. 2 bananas, pineapple and whatever else I could get my greedy, hungry hands on. Then I just chilled with my son the rest of the day. Fingers crossed that the results are a-ok! I should know by Monday the 22nd. My next dr appt is Friday the 26th.

OCTOBER 9th

It's flu season! I got my flu shot, along with my husband and son, over the weekend. Our son's pediatrician's office offered it. It is okay for pregnant women to get - I asked the pediatrician and my obgyn. And... I DID catch the flu when I was pregnant with my first son and I was MISERABLE. But, I did get the shot last year, this year and 3/4 years ago and I was always fine afterwards. So ... here is a link from the CDC regarding Flu Vaccine Q&A's that people might find helpful.

OCTOBER 8th

Okay - the link goes to a plus size pregnancy site - but it had the most complete information on the test compared to other sites. Like I said - there is a chart that you can use to compare your 1 hour GD score and see what the chance is that you'll have GD after the three hour test. And it has other in-depth info on the 1 hour and 3 hour test too.

I scored 159. Which means a 34% chance of having GD after the three hour test. And I fasted before the test. And I passed the test when I was PG with my son. My son was born 8 pounds 11 oz. And... I am not overweight. Mmmm... and only my maternal gpa has type 1 diabetes. My dad has type 2. But, i really don't think i have the "risk factors" associated with it so I just hope I pass the next test and don't have to worry.

OCTOBER 4th

Today was my Gestational Diabetes test. My appt was originally scheduled for Friday at 8. Then they switched it to Thursday at 9:45. On Thursday, they didn't see me and give me the sugary stuff until 10:30! And then you sit for an hour... so I wasn't done until 11:30! Way too long for a pregnant woman not to eat. And I swear, one woman just smelled dirty and like sweat. her mom came in later reeking of cigarette smoke. And the drink was much worse than I remember from my first pregnancy. All in all a sucky morning. I just hope I passed so I dont' have to do the 3 hour thing.

And, at 28 weeks I am up 15 pounds. That was a 5 pound gain in 4 weeks! YIKES! And baby Lochlan is in a head down position. That explains the number of kicks under my ribs. :) 11 more weeks and 6 days til my EDD! :woo:

SEPTEMBER

It looks like my page lost information! I totally forget what my updates in September said. But I do know that we switched the babies name from Heath to Lochlan this month. And that is FINAL. LOL!

AUGUST 27TH

Okee - I changed my mind about the name. I nixed Vann, considered Killian briefly and now we are settled on Heath. I love it. Also, we painted Heath's room Friendly Frog Green. And we are in the process of cleaning the junk out to make room for BABY! EXCITING!

AUGUST 8TH

Today is the day of my ultrasound! It was a BOY! Another BOY! LOL! So we are very THRILLED and naming him Vann Callahan. :heart:
