Well this is my first pregnancy and my hubby and i are very excited to become parents. So far it has been great no morning sickness or anything but smooth sailing except being quite tired all the time. I can't wait to welcome our new baby in September!!!! It's a baby boy!!!

I am the same way. I dont sleep good at nights because I get up every two hours to pee. I try to go to bed around 11pm and wake up around 8am. Then I will have a nap around 2pm for about 2 hours. I asked my doctor and he told me its normal to want to sleep all the time, and its good for ya too

htown1971 - Monday, 28 July
I do the same thing. I'm up really early in the morning between 2:30 and 4:30 and then I take a 2 hour nap in the early afternoon. I think I can't sleep because I'm thinking of everything I have to do before the baby's born!

fudgeethewhale - Wednesday, 2 July
to get my fetus' approx weight they took measurements of his head circumference, abdomin circumference and his leg bone length. Using that info they are able to estimate weight. It's not an exact science, but it can give you an idea of how big your fetus is.

No its not constant just every so often, maybe your baby is laid funny?

Hey i was wondering how much pounds did you gain so far. I've gained 26 pounds so far. my due date is september 14. this too is my first pregnancy. well good luck. im outtie

tandiann - Tuesday, 3 June
In response to your mothers uncalled for comment on your weight, don't give it another thought. She probably feels a sense of power since she just lost weight and wants you to feel good to. And think about it as though she were a stranger. I have gained exactly 15 lbs and for my body, that is perfect, but people still feel compelled to comment on how big/small I am. I know they are crazy and figure that they don't really know what else to day to a preggie woman. You look just right and unless your doctor expresses concern, don't worry. Play the doctor card. Tell her that your 'qualified obstetrician' feels that your weight gain couldn't be more on track and isn't worried at all. Once that baby gets here, she will be not so worried about your body anymore. Just ride it out.

Why arent they throwing you a baby shower? Im sure if my family didnt live all the way in Nova Scotia they would throw me one... but it sucks I live here and know only a few people... who are mostly men so no baby shower for me :(

prego22 - Monday, 2 June
Hi, I just wanted to let you know that I looked at your 25 week picture and you look adorable. You are not FAT! I dont know what it is but older people are always so rude about weight gain. I am usually a small person but I always gain around 60 pounds with my pregnancies and I reach the 200 pound club. Everyone has to comment on it and it use to make me feel bad but now I just say to hell with them . You will lose it after the baby is born. Also a little something to think about: when our mothers were prego thier doctors use to prescribe diet pills and water pills. Take care - you are beautiful!

Marianne322 - Monday, 2 June
Hi - I saw your comment in 25 weeks. It sounds like your mom is out of line. Try to push her voice out of your head. Fact of the matter is, we are ALL getting wonderfully fat with our babies (mine's a boy too!) and in a few weeks time (only about 15) we can worry about dropping our baby weight. Although we'll probably be running arounfd dealing with new arrivals and the weight will come off easier :)

I'm sorry about your baby shower news. I live far away from my family, so I'm having a tiny one, if any. Here's an idea: Why don't you post an ad on www.craigslist.com or on freecycle.com requesting items you'd like (they'll probably be 2nd hand, but are often in very good condition). That way, it'll be like strangers are showering you with gifts :)

Be good to yourself!

leeleesmom - Monday, 2 June
I would definately try to ignore the comments, if your hubby likes you the way you are thats all that matters. Especially since you sleeping with him and not her. i know its hard to ignore especially since its your mom. I cant believe she would say such mean things. Pregnancy is beautiful. lol I should take my own advice sometimes lol

leeleesmom - Monday, 2 June
aww that is horrible. I say get together with any of your close friends and plan a little something for yourself. You deserve it. Do you have siblings and is there a reason your mother is acting like this? I fell horrible.

eka - Monday, 2 June
HI Panda , saw your post in 25 weeks ! ... first off congrats on your baby boy!.. I am having a boys as well ..
regarding your mom .. that was an insensitive remark !!.. dont let that get to you .. you are experiencing a blessing and that's all that matters !..
I agree with gwennypooh and halambert .. throw a baby shower for yourself !! celebrate the coming of your baby boy!!! ...

fudgeethewhale - Monday, 2 June
Your mom's being a turd. Ignore her
As for the baby shower, I have the exact opposite problem, people want to throw me one, but I don't want one. If only we could swap for a day, huh?

Cindie - Monday, 2 June
saw your post in the 25weeks thing.. Your mom's an inconsiderate idiot... and throw your self a baby shower!!!! if anyone asks.. tell them that since none of yourf friends would do it that you'r doing it!

my mom is throwing me a baby shower but I've planned it since my stepdad just died. (a month and a half ago)... and don't worry, my mom is on the opposite end telling me to gain more weight. I've put on 7.5lbs so far at 25weeks due to morning sickness as well as heartburn

JackaMumma - Monday, 2 June
Hi Panda, some people can be sooo insensitive! When people used to say comments to me like that with my first pregnancy, I'd just say 'yeh, he's a biiiig boy, just like his Dad!'... this time round, I am a lot narkier, and would be more likely to say something like 'what did you say? what do you mean? how much weight did you put on when you were pregnant? how long did it take you to get it off?... what do you weigh now' (turn it around on them, give them a taste of their own medicine). A bit bitchy I know, but these days I seem to have a much shorter fuse . But the important thing is that you stay focussed on the positive - your bump contains a gorgeous baby boy, and the weight does come off once they are born (esp if you breast feed, are slightly careful with what you eat and exercise a touch). Best wishes

gwennypooh - Sunday, 1 June
I agree with the posts below. Throw yourself a shower and send invitations. I planned my 1st baby shower since my sister was visiting someone in another state. I did the invitations and a friend helped me get a place to have the shower. This time around I'm just having a small gathering at my place.

And don't pay attention to comments people give you about gaining weight. You are pregnant!!! Pregnancy is the best excuse you can have when gaining weight . You'll loose all the weight once the baby is born.

halambert - Sunday, 1 June
Well when my mother first started saying that I would just say in a smart voice, 'Well, you know, I AM pregnant!' Now I just avoid it. I think that it will be perfectly fine if you threw yourself a shower.

halambert - Sunday, 1 June
You should definitely throw yourself a shower and invite the people closest to you. As far as your Mom goes, my mother is doing the same thing. I guess it has just been so long since they were pregnant, they forget how it can be.

NicoleAndGrant - Saturday, 24 May
Finally another Canuck !! I totally understand how you feel with friends not understanding. Give it time, and you can raz them in years to come when they get pregnant. So, has the warm weather hit your area yet? This weather we are experiencing is horrible, so cold and wet. 'April showers bring May flowers'? Well they are a month late lol How are you feeling so far?

praying4mybaby - Wednesday, 14 May
I am having the same question. I feel the baby one day, and the next he/she is relaxed and doesn't want to move. We bought a heart monitor just for that reason - seems to calm my nerves.

ghmom - Wednesday, 14 May
I agree with fudgeethewhale. Some days I feel my baby move all day. Others I dont. It makes me nervous!!
