My baby girl has arrived home!! Thanks for all your prayers and good wishes! She's doing well :) it's a bit overwhelming now that im completely responsible for her, but i love it :)

Profile Update:

I'm Jessica and my partner is Jai. We are the proud parents of the world's most beautiful baby girl! Annalynn Rose made her debut June 5th, 2008 at 1:24 pm. She weighed 7 lbs 11.8 oz, and was a wonderful reward after 11 hours of labour, and 3.5 hours of pushing which resulted in a section because she got stuck! She came out with a couple difficulties, they being low blood sugars which resulted in her receiving a nasal gastic (NG) tube through which shes fed, and she was born with tongue tie (when too much of the tongue is attached to the lower jaw)

I am now embarking on a huge weight loss trek so that I can be a fit mommy and a good example for my little angel. I'll update my progress on that as it goes :)

3 days old! Anna can lift her head up and hold it up while she's on her tummy! She discovered this while getting her tan on under the bilirubin lights. Damn jaundice. She's so precious!! I love her to pieces!!

1 week old. No more jaundice! no more trouble with the blood sugars, now all she needs to do is suck. Little bug had her tongue tie treated today, she barely made a peep, and the little pout she made was more because she was wrapped like a papoose, and being held vertically, and away from the nurses body. I was discharged from the hospital today after a two week stay (Anna was born one week to the day I was admitted) It's nice to be home, but I miss my little girl!!

Anna has already surpassed her birth weight by almost a full 3 ounces! They finally took her NG tube out today, and her suck is excellent! I'm so glad she's getting better! The nurses said that if she does well tonight and tomorrow she might be able to come home on thursday. That would be great! no more 8 hour days at the hospital for me! lol. Then Jai can finally spend some quality time with her! It's been so rough on him, due to the conflict in his work schedules, and his need for more then 3 hours of sleep, lol. She definetely knows her daddy though, and I know he misses her terribly. We talk about her all the time :)

Anna was readmitted to the hospital as a precaution because she had vomitted three times and they were worried that she might have an infection

Anna's still in the hospital... and is 4 weeks old! Of her 4 weeks of existence, she has spent 3 in the hospital, my poor little bug. She has an IV and they're still running antibiotics, just general ones though as her repeat blood culture came back negative. Theres a long ass story to that, but the short version is that the first one came back stating she had an infection in her blood, so they jabbed her in the hand and started her on two general antibiotics (ampticillin and something else that i can never remember... this was all on tuesday), so they did a repeat culture prior to starting the antibiotics, gave her the 48 hr course, but the second culture came back negative, so essentially we were treating a bug that wasn't really there, even though it wasn't until after we started the iv and the antibiotics that she started getting better, eating more again, getting her muscle tone back, etc... so, the dr is baffled... and as new mom, i must admit, so am i. However, at this point, they say she'll be coming home again on the 4th, with a follow up appt to go see the paediatrician on the 9th. I hope she stays healthy this time though!!!

Anna met her great great grandmother (and namesake) today. She's now over 10 pounds! Grow baby grow lol. She's such a cuddle bug :D <3
