This is my first pregnancy so everything is quite overwhelming but also very exciting at the same time. I've had an extremely good pregnancy so far (knock on wood) so for that I'm very thankful...just the odd spurt of heart burn and nausea. I have been married to my wonderful husband for a year December 16. He's been so helpful and supportive so far which must be hard considering my mood swings can often be a challenge (I can only imagine). I haven't gotten an ultrasound yet but I did get to hear the babys heartbeat at the beginning of November and it was so amazing...it really sunk in that yep there's definitely a baby in there. It was very refreshing because I haven't had very many symptoms so there were lots of days that I didn't think I was even pregnant. Now of course I'm getting a belly to prove it!! I love this site because you get to hear what everyone has to say and what everyone's going through, lots of the questions I have are already written before I want to ask them so it's perfect!! Good luck to everyone!! I hope everyone is having a happy and healthy pregnancy!!

Thursday, 15 May I just now got my lil girl to sleep in the bassinet! She hated it. I had to put a pillow in there with her daddys scent on it. I have blankets rolled up on each side of her so she can't roll over. She sleeps in there much better now. Maybe you could try putting something in there with your scent on it. I wasn't sure how she knew the difference between our bed and the bassinet but maybe the scent was the answer! lilmamma -
Wednesday, 14 May YES I cannot get my little one to sleep in his bassinet either, he is 13 days old. I can put him in there when hes in that in-between stage of awake/asleep, but any other time he will immediately wake up and wail! My hubby and I were so agaisnt bed sleeping bf we took him home, and now he has claimed the bed! we hardly even try to put him in his bassinet most nights bc its just too much effort! Hes def playing us. :) beautifulbebe -
Tuesday, 13 May hi - my baby is 3 weeks now and he didn't want to sleep in his bassinet in the first few weeks. I just kept trying. I think that they grow out of the clingy phase in the third week. I get him to sleep in the bassinet during the day now without a problem. In the beginning, I started heating his mattress a bit with a hot water bottle to simulate body heat. Because this is tiring, I now dress him in his night-outfit and his blanket, hold him until he is asleep (20 minutes) and then I transfer him when he has 'floppy arms'. At first I kept my arm around him for a few minutes, but I don't need to do that anymore. At night he sleeps with us, because I find this more reassuring. dreambaby16 -
Friday, 2 May Did the fluid smell sweet or like ammonia? That's supposed to be the indicator if sweet then amniotic fluid, otherwise urine, which isn't unusual at this point. It it was enought to soak your undies/liner, whatever, doubt it is just discharge. any contractions yet? weenerh -
Thursday, 24 April How much water are you drinking? You might want to try increasing that as well. For some reason, water is the cure for just about everything I find. Hang in there girl. Almost there. I sure hope you're feeling better. weenerh -
Thursday, 24 April How did your night go last night? Still a lot of pain?? Did you try anything different and did anything help? jlspoonylove -
Wednesday, 23 April My husband bought us a Temperpedic foam bed last month and I swear by it. I have been snoring really loud , so i have been sleeping in the other room with the old bed and it is KILLING ME.. big difference!!! mommy2ck -
Wednesday, 23 April i'm right there with you...getting comfy at night is nearly impossible! i found that a warm bath right before bed makes a huge difference. also - try walking later in the day....i just started doing this last week and i noticed it really helps stretch things in your legs, groin, and hip areas....you'll feel so much better the next day and sleep better too! good luck.....we're SO close! weenerh -
Wednesday, 23 April Do you use lots of pillows? I have the same problem and I find that if I surround myself in pillows and sleep half on my back and half on my side for part of the time that helps. Also maybe elevate yourself a little so you can sleep more on your back. You could also try a heated rice bag and lay on that while you're falling asleep. Drink a ton of water. That has also helped me. I drink about 90 oz a day, no joke. I'm feeling much better. Good luck. PatzMum -

Tuesday, 22 April hi there, sorry it took me so long to respond. Have been so busy trying to prepare and hadn't checked my mail. ANyway, we get 16 weeks off so any day at home without baby is really not worth being at home. I will try to be here until the very end..You're lucky! dimpledemon -
Friday, 18 April i see stars and my doctor just said its normal. :) -
Friday, 18 April what does "seeing stars mean"? the little things that look like glitter floating? wow, if thats what it is, i thought i was imagining things! lol. i'll have to ask my midwife about that today. thats crazy. i'm glad you said something, because i had no idea that was a real symptom of anything. i'm sorry my comment didnt help you any, i just didnt know there really was such a thing...lol 2ndtimemama -
Friday, 18 April I have been seeing stars once a week or so for awhile now. At 25 weeks found out I had low iron so I figured that was why. I told my dr. and she said it's a normal preg. symptom. I thought that was weird but she was not at all concerned. I think it's when it's an everyday thing that they worry??? no clue. bigmommat -
Friday, 18 April i see stars after i cough,
i get light headed a lot too but my BP is fine
maybe the baby is hitting a nerve?

Friday, 18 April I see stars occasionally too, and I have low blood pressure so it's definitely not that. I asked about it in my Lamaze class and they said it was normal--lots of women in my class said they had that too. Just another perk of pregnancy! havinababyinmay -
Thursday, 17 April I did the same thing. When i looked it up things like lymphoma were coming up....scary. Then having to go to the breast center for the ultrasound was very nerve wrecking also! Better safe then sorry ! I thought it was my lymph node but it wasn't that at all!!! havinababyinmay -
Thursday, 17 April YES ...My armpit has a lump and is swollen. At 5 months I noticed it and the doc. had me go to the breast center and get a ultrasound on it.I worried soooo much ..I thought cancer ? It was fine the tech said it was just breast tissue and would probably get worse before it got better. I still have it and I'm hoping when I start breastfeeding it will go away.Anyways ..don't get too freaked out if they want you to get ultrasound on it . I hope that helps!
