Welcome!

After enjoying reading many profiles, I thought it only fair to share one of my own. I'm really excited about being a mom for the first time, and can't wait 'til Sept!

It wasn't an easy start to my pregnancy, but things are slowly getting better. Although I didn't have nausea or cravings, I did have a lot of excruciating pain and a tall order for bed rest. Additionally, I'm not able to return home until two months before my due date. Not a happy camper...but trying reeeeallly hard to enjoy the rollercoaster ride :D I think without a sense of humour, I would be going absolutely insane!

At first, and even now, I was very nervous (terrified, truthfully) about being a mom, the baby's health, and how life is going to change. Slowly, I'm making compromises on work, study and extracurricular activities to balance my new family with what I want to accomplish. Wow, does this take a lot of planning!

Update: On April 25, I found out we're going to have a baby girl. We're pretty sure about a name we both like and are eager to finally meet her! Even though I love seeing her progress, it can be frustrating going to US appointments alone, when everyone else seems to have someone along for support.

I have to add a special hi to single moms and those in school. When I was only hoping to be a mom, I was always in awe of how you gals could do it. I couldn't fully imagine and only hope I can be as strong when times are a challenge.
