Hi ladies, My name is Nicole Sawyer and I've been married for a little over two years to my wonderful husband Devon Sawyer. This is me and Devon's second child together. We lost our son Devon Jr. In June of last year...
Well ladies this is how my story goes. I was exactly 27 weeks when I went into premature labour with my son, because I was a first time mom I didnt knw what to expect... AND I wasen't expecting to go into premature labor. I woke up at about 10:30-11:00 am (late sleeper) with some minor cramps in my abdomen thinking they were braxton hicks(they were nothing to cry about) so I ate breakfast and I went back to lay down.I woke back up throughout the day with the pain still being in my abdomen(on a scale of 1-10, 10 being the highest my pain was about a 2). I had text my husband at work to tell him I was having minor pains but I didn't think anything of it. Well my husband got home around 9 pm and He met me taking a warm bath by then the pain had reached to 5 on the scale. We then packed a bag and headed to the hospital. When I got there I was ALREADY 6 CMS!!! So there was No Turning back, this was it!!! I gave birth to a 1 lb 9 oz boy. They had to take him up to the NICU immediatley to put him on a breathing machine.My days at the hospital were LONG!!! I didn't like the hospital atmosphere that much... but my child was there and he needed me. Well DJ lived for 12 days, he died June 16th 2006. I miss him so much... but it was time for him to go be with God and his angels. R.I.P Baby Devon Mummy loves you and Daddy misses you. :-(
On the 10th of April I woke up with some pains in my abdomen again and I went STRAIGHT to my doctor's office and found out that I had a fibrod on one of my ovaries and thats the cause of the pain I've been having. He gave me some prescription for pain medication and It helps a lot.
I had a next appointment with my doctor today and everything was fine, the baby looks good so far but I'm still having those minor pains. He was talking about stitching my cervix just in case my little one decides to come early again. Has anyone ever gotten their cervix stitched??? If so can u please tell me if it worked for you or if it HURT??? They are the only two things I need to know right now.
Well ladies... Yesterday I finally went in for my appointment at the public clinic yesterday. And everything is fine... Still! I have to get all my blood cultures done TODAY!!! Because the doctor wants to see me in two weeks because I'm considered 'HIGH RISK' so she wants all the test results to be on her desk when Its time for my next appointment. So I'm off now to the lab. I'll update you some more when the results are in.

Hi everyone! Well today I have been craving chocolate yogurt and stuffed crabs. Other than that everything is well. I'm just excited to go to my doctor's appointment Tuesday 12th. I pray all is well... Some may think I'm a lil crazy but I'm actually having quickenings!!! With my first pregnancy I felt quickenings as early as 15 weeks and now I'm feeling them at 13 weeks. Feels like lil butterflies in there. I cant wait until they get so much stronger. Anyways ladies I'm off to the Ice-Cream Parlor to get some yogurt!!!

Hey Ladies nothing new yet! Except for the fact that my belly is growing. The baby is very active and has a habit of sticking out my side so daddy can see him/her. I have my next appointment for July 17th at 1:30pm and I'm going for a ultrasound to find out the sex of the baby on July 31st. I hope all continues to go well with everyone.

Hey Guys! I went in for my appointment and Everything Is Great! I've only put on 3lbs in a month. I was hoping I had gained more than that because I'm pretty small. I got to hear the baby's heart-rate and It was pretty amazing! It was 164 per minute, I'm so excited to have this baby I hope all continues to go well. I'm schedule to go to my private Doctor on the 31st. I think I'm gonna get the cervical cerclage as well... Pretty scary for me! Lol! Anyways I will update u guys then so take care...

Hey ladies... Well here's an update! I know in my last update I said that I was going to my doctor on the 31st July but I decided to go today because I was excited to find out the sex of the baby and IT'S A BOY!!! The tech is 99.9% sure! I am so Happy!!!

Hey Guys! I went for my check up today and everything is great! The baby's heart rate is 160 bpm and everything looks ok atleast for today. The doctor told me that I have to come back next week which is the 21st August with a ultrasound from a tech. She wants to know the length of my cervix or something of that matter. I guess if anything is wrong with it then I get to have a stitch. This is at the public clinic that is. My private doctor is charging me $900 to put the stitch in and $100 to take it out!!! Can u believe that??? :-0 That's a $1000 and I think at the public clinic its free. So there's a HUGE DIFFERENCE! LOL. If you can save the money then why not??? Anyways I will update later! Until then have a blessed day!

Hey ladies its exactly 2:54am and I haven't been to sleep as yet because my back is aching very badly to the point where its just uncomfortable to sleep! Maybe the baby is situated in a position that don't agree with my body lol! Anyways I'm gonna sit up and watch tv until I fall asleep!

Hey ladies I went to get an ultrasound yesterday! The tech gave me the regular tummy ultrasound and then must have saw something looking kinda of out place so she then told me to take my bottoms off and lie back on the bed and she gave me a vaginal ultrasound she discovered that my cervix had dilated to 0.8cm, So she wrote a report for me to give to my doctor so I have to hand that in on Tuesday morning when I go to the clinic. So for sure now I know I'm getting the cerclage. I pray the procedure goes well... So wish me well later.

Hi ladies! Saturday night after I took a bath I started having some crampings in my abdomen and I laid down for a while until I thought this pain felt exactly like when I went into labor with my first baby. So I got my husband up and I told him that I needed to go the hospital right away. When I got to the hospital I still had to wait for 3 (THREE)WHOLE HOURS before I was able to see a doctor!!! Anyways I got to see the doctor and he checked me only to find out I was 1cm dilated so he told me that I was not going home and that I needed to tell my husband bring me some things back because they are keeping me in!I was so relieved that I got to the hospital in time before my sweetie came too early... The doctor discussed with me that they needed to do a cerclage and that I would stay in the hospital for a few days. Well I got the cerclage on Monday morning and was released from the hospital yesterday on STRICT BEDREST!!!

Hey ladies, Today I'm 26 weeks Pregnant!!! Thank God I've made it this far... Next week I will be at week 27 this is the same time I gave birth to my first son, I pray I make it through the day without sobbing. Time is flying so fast. My baby is already responding to music... I can tell by the amount of movement he does when music is being played! Isn't that cool? Lol. But everything seems to be fine with us so far. Hi there ladies... Well this morning I'm feeling great other than the fact that I think I may have gotten an infection from the cerclage... I'll be going to the clinic today to find out If I'm ok or what!!! Well my birthday is on SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 9TH AND I'LL BE 21 BABY!!! WOOOHOOO!!! So I'm excited about what my husband has planned this year... He is so good at keeping secrets! LOL! Until he's tired of me torturing him... Lol. My lil brother's birthday is on the 8th, he's gonna be 3 so that's on Saturday and My sister's birthday is on the 16th she's going to be 12. I hardly get to see my siblings because My brother lives on a Island named Harbour Island here in the Bahamas with my dad and his mom and my sister lives in Canada with her mom and her step-dad so we don't get to communicate very much. I haven't seen her from last year May thats when she came here to the Bahamas to visit. But I hope both of them spend their birthdays well... How Ironic is my Dad having 3 children all born in September and all 9 years apart!!! LOL. I just thought of that!!! Must of taken a lot of planning or just a coinscience! LOL. Hi there ladies!!! I am officially in my 3rd trimester and I feel so great to have made it this far! Most of my readers and friends know I haven't made it this far before so I feel like this is a BIG ACCOMPLISHMENT for me! So far the only problem I'm having is back pain and I feel sleep deprived but I'm guessing thats Mother Nature's way of keeping me up when my lil man is here and needs all my attention! His kicks are also getting stronger, sometimes I feel like he is Jabbing me in my ribs! Lol! But its all good he is so worth all the TOSSING ,TURNING AND POWERFUL KICKS IN MY RIBS! Just nine more weeks before he's here (in my case 6 weeks because I'm getting my stitches out in about 6 weeks and I hear you go into labor right after or a couple days later.) Either way I'm excited I just want my healthy bouncing BOY to be here already!!! My husband can't wait for him to get here! He's like "baby how many more weeks do we have?, I wish you could get those stitches out now!" It is so funny at times I just laugh to see that he is so in a hurry to meet his son! I feel so blessed in a way because many ladies on here don't have their spouse or their partner wants nothing to do with them or the baby and that's so sad!!! :-( Anyways I hope all is well with all of you guys. Hey ladies!!! Well today I am officially 32 weeks pregnant! It has been a blessing for me and my family for me to have made it this far. God is truly with us... I am feeling pretty good except for the back aches, leg cramp (this was the most horrible thing I've ever felt) and the frequent trips to the bathroom. Other than that I'm well. Baby is still pretty active and is doing a number on my ribs LOL but I'll make it. Anyways gotta go, hope everyone is doing well and Good luck to those TTC.

Hey ladies!!! Here's an update! I went to the hospital today for my appointment. Everything is fine with baby and me. But I gained 12lbs in ONE MONTH and now my total weight is 152lbs, I feel so HUGE sometimes. I gained 37lbs so far throughout this pregnancy! WoW never thought I'd get this big. LOL . And my worst nightmare are appearing on the side of my stomach (stretch marks). I thought I'd never get them now I have quite a few. I hope I can get them off. That was some good venting. Hope all your ladies are doing great! Good luck to those TTC!

Hey ladies! Well I had my appointment today and everything is great with baby and I. I didn't gain any weight since my last appointment and I didn't lose any, so I thought that was great. Baby is measuring the right size and everything. I thought that the doctor was gonna take my Cerclage out at 37 weeks which would have been the 19th of November but she inform me today they were going to take them out on the 12th Of November which is a week away. I will only be 36 weeks pregnant!!! Is it okay if I went into labor after the cerclage came out? I want me and my baby to be healthy. But the doctor told me that the baby will be able to breathe on his own and everything... I'm a lil worried bout that! Any suggestions ANYONE HELP!!!

Hi ladies! Went to the doctor's today and she decided that I should wait to get the stitches removed on Friday... Gosh I was so mentally ready to get these things out! Now I have to wait 4 More days!But everything is great. I gained 4lbs since last week Monday. I now weigh a total of 156lbs, baby's heart rate is 159bpm and he is head down. So that's whats going on with me so I now gotta wait until Friday. I'll update you and let you guys know what's going on with me later. Take care and good luck to those TTC. :-)

Hey ladies! Here's a lil update... I went to the hospital last night because I was having some minor cramping. About an hour and a half of waiting my cramps were gone. So I told the nurse that I was due to get my cerclage removed today anyways so they prep me for the removal. Man THAT WAS THE WORST PAIN I'VE EVER FELT IN MY LIFE. It felt like she was yanking my cervix. And get this the scissors were DULL!!! Then they decided to use a next scissors and they too were DULL!!! I was screaming my head off like I was in labor or something. Anyways one other CLEVER doctor suggested that they use a razor and that worked! Man I was there on that table for 30mins to 45mins in agony. But all is well now. After my ordeal she decided to check me and I was 2cm dilated. So now I'm home feeling the contractions as they come and go. And they are getting stronger. I'm just waiting for the appropriate time to go to the hospital. So I'm Now laboring at home. I will keep you guys updated as much as I can. Bye

I am so ready to get this over with. But I guess he'll come when mommy and daddy is NOT expecting him. Anyways I'm bout to go will update later. Bye
BIRTH STORY
Monday 26th November, I had my usual appointment at the hospital. The doctor swept my membranes and I had started having really bad pains that felt like period pains. After my appointment my husband came for me and took me home and then headed back to work and told me to let him know if anything progresses. Well nothing much really happened after that only the constant pain. 4:30pm came and my husband came home from work and the pains were pretty much the same, well we ate dinner and then got dressed for bed. Well while there in a deep sleep an UNBEARABLE pain hit me that I had to nudge my husband to wake up. I told him that I think that I was in active labor and that we needed to go to the hospital. We did just that! When I got to the hospital a midwife checked me and I was 3cms and my cervix was really, really, soft, so they preped me to stay in to have my baby boy. Well I got my enema which was no fun at all. After a hour in the bathroom I got checked again and I was 4cm (this was about 1:45 am). The nurse then broke my water bag and the pains got stronger and closer together.She gave me some drugs and said "that it would take the edge off the pain, but I would still feel the pain". Well she was right, I was still feeling the pain but it was as if my mind was in another world or something. I felt really High!!! THANKS TO THE NURSE FOR THAT!!! At 2:55am I felt the urge to PUSH really bad. So I screamed for the nurse and told her It felt like I needed to push. I had moved from 4cm to fully dilated within a hour and 15 mins. I pushed for about 20mins and my little sweetie pie was here!!! Weighing in at 6LBS 5OZS. I was so happy that everything was over and done with at that point. Now baby and I are home and doing just GREAT!!! I couldn't ask for a better son. He wakes up only once or twice a night. He is so sweet and precious.

Hi Ladies!!! I know I haven't updated in a while but I just cant get enough of my lil man. Can you guys blame me??? He's so Darn Cute!!! My baby boy and I are doing just GREAT!!! He gets up only 2 times at nite and he is breastfeeding really well. He doesn't cry much at all. He got a lil cold and my husband and I had taken him to the doctor and they gave us Saline drops to put in his nose. Also he weighed 8lbs 30zs already and was just 2 weeks and a day, Now he's 2 weeks and 3 days! LOL. I LOVE HIM SO MUCH, I cant imagine life without him now.

I know what you mean, i never thought i would ever say i missed being preggo.. But i really do 2.good luck on the girl front hehe. I want a boy now! I think one of each would be nice. I want to wait to try again though until Livi is 2..That will give me sometime to get things done and spoil Livi for a little bit.Being a midwife sounds nice. how is the pay? I want to go back to school to to be a ob/gyn..its funny how being a mom or having a baby makes you want to do something like that huh?Anyway i'll ttyl take care of you 3. god belss

Oh my goodness he is so big and so cute.. I know what you mean though .. time flys I wish it would slow down.. its breakin my heart to watch Livi grow so fast..
