Glad to be pregnant again. I am 34 and live in Destin, Florida. I have one son who will be 14 in July.

My husband and I have been trying to have a baby since last year. I have had two m/c one of them at 12.5 weeks and one at 7 weeks. Both of them quit growing weeks prior to the that. I had my second ultrasound 5/9/08 where a strong, healthy 130 bpm heartbeat was detected. Just holding my breath to get through the next several weeks and out of the first tri-mester. My clothes got tight at 5 weeks so I am wrestling with the idea of buying a few maternity jeans and shorts.

8/4/08 - Pregnancy is going very well. Baby is developing appropriately and the quad screens came out normal. Looks like our little girl should be healthy little one.

Hey! I'm alive and we are all fine. I did get some damage to my house but nothing that can't be fixed. I'm just glad its all over. We got alot of flooding here and were off of work for 2 extra days besides the holiday on Monday so it was kinda nice to just lay around. I ended up going to my sister's house. Mom just drove me nuts. She had this huge generator but didn't want to hook nothing up to it so it was hotter than you know what. I finally got aggravated enough to just say, "see ya". Needless to say, its alot more welcoming at my sister's house. Can't go home until the tree is off my roof and the power lines are picked up around the area. It will be a few days for that so I'll email again when I can. Right now I'm emailing from work and about to go home for the evening. Talk soon!

Hey, we are in Alexandria. The storm is not as bad as expected. It's now a category 1 since it made landfall so we will still get alot of damaging winds sometimes this evening as it moves closer towards us but its not suppose to be as catastrophic as expected which is good. How are you today?

Well that's good. I'm glad you found someone decent and that's good to your son. Even though he's married to the job, at least he's a good provider and that counts for alot. I'd rather be married to a man that worked his butt off than sitting around at home (like Michael) with 2 days off every week and not trying to get a second job to try to help out more. Don't get me started on him.. lol.. My ex-husband works for Noble Drilling. They move around alot so I'm not sure if his location is threatened by the hurricane. He makes a ton of money. I think he's a safety coordinator for one of the rigs they own. Makes big bucks and he's a good father to Chase and Landon. When we were married years ago, he wanted to drink and carry on and I couldn't live like that. He waited until after the marriage was over to try and work things out but it was too late. He's remarried now and doesn't drink anymore and I guess he just grew up and realized drinking was getting him into trouble. He's a good person now and I'm thankful for that. I know money isn't everything but sometimes I think about what my life would be like now if he had just not done those things back then. Oh well.. I guess things happen for a reason and I know God has something special in store for me.

Wow, our stories are similar. I have not managed to really meet anyone that I would really want to settle down with. I would love to be re-married and settled in with someone but it just didn't happen that way. I met Michael a few years ago and thought he was the man for me but as time went by, I realized that it wasn't going to work long term for us. He's a good guy in alot of ways but he's got some growing up to do and I'm not going to settle for someone that I've got to raise. I need someone to take care of me, so as far as me and him living under the same roof, I don't see that happening. He'll be a good day to this baby but that's as far as I see it for right now. Gloom story I know but that's been my situation for awhile now.

I was very excited about having a girl but also kinda nervous myself. I'm like you, I know what to do with boys in every aspect but I'm totally new to this girl thing... lol.. I'm gonna be so overprotective with her. My youngest, Landon, asked me today if I was going to let her ride her bike around the neighborhood and I was like "heck no.. because I would kill a sex offender with my bare hands if he even looked in her direction.. lord have mercy!

Well it is a little harder with school back in session. I have to stay on my youngest son because its always something with him. He's 14 too. If I don't keep up with what his h/w assignments are, he will slack. He's a good kid other than that, but its the stress I go through keeping him on track with his work. My oldest son is a whole different story. He'll be 17 in October and is in all honor's classes. Makes good grades so I don't have to worry about him. I'm divorced so all the responsibilities and keeping up with what needs to be done is on me. I'm use to though because we've been divorced for nearly 12 years now. Things usually run pretty smooth but it's not easy doing it at times.

Yeah same here. I talk to my mom at least 3 or 4 times a week and I see her about twice a week. She works and I'm busy with my other two boys with after school activities, etc., so its hard to visit sometimes. She's very helpful and alot of times over steps her boundaries but other than that, she's good to me and would do anything to help me.

She lives too close.. lol... she lives right down the road from me as well. She told me awhile ago about a house on the next street that was for sale.. I thought to myself.. Oh no.. that's not gonna happen! My sister lives on the next street behind her and she's always complaining that she never comes to visit which is not true at all. I often wondered how she would react if both of us were in the military or lived somewhere far away like out of state. We live just right down the road and she swears she never sees us. She's never satisfied is what it all amounts to.

haha! Now I would freeze if I had to use the ice pack but then again, it does sound like a good idea for the time being. I'm hot right now. She told me awhile ago when I go to bed not to cover up and I won't be hot.. now can you imagine that? It's just hot in the house period. I could probably sleep naked and still be hot over here...lol.. I'm fixing to knock her out.
