Congratulations!
I had a great time when we went for our ultrasound. We were in tears as well. It was absolutely amazing. :o) TheBunny -
Saturday, 21 June Hi, I also have low-lying placenta. They told me this on my 20 week scan. But then I had to be re-scanned at 23 weeks to check the heart and she told me the placenta had already started to shift upwards. So I think it is nothing to worry about. Worst case scenario is a c-section but I bet yours has already moved..... don't worry

Friday, 20 June I too have a low lying placenta right now - it's not unusual at this point. i'm having another ultrasound so check it's progress at 30 weeks. i've read and heard that about 98% of placenta's move up, ours are just a bit slower than average. a very small percentage don't ever move up (then it becomes placenta previa) and then you have to have a c-section, but you and the baby will still be fine. it's no harm to the baby so don't waste any time worrying about it and continue on in your happy healthy pregnancy!
PS i have never heard or read that you can't have sex with a low lying placenta - between my doc, midwife, several books and a bunch of websites -- maybe near the end in the last few weeks if it doesn't move and gets diagnosed as previa that would be the case but for now it's fine - just don't want to see anyone deprived!

Friday, 20 June i have a low lying placenta too, nothing to worry about, very rarely the placenta wont move up and thats when you get placenta previa and have to have a c-section, but thats rare! finding the low lying placenta this early is a very good sign and its not dangerous during pregnancy in any way to our babies katgirl7277 -
Friday, 20 June I have low lying placenta (placenta priva) i think that's how you spell it. lol. I got for another U/S on July 3rd to see if mine moved back in place. I was told not to worry about it. that theres a 90% chance that it will go back in place before you go to labor. If not they will just do a C-Section. Which I really don't want. They told me not to lift anything move then 20 pounds and no sex, intill it goes back to place. I hope all will be well for you and myself. good luck and best wishes on your little one to come.

Friday, 20 June Hey, i was told i had low lying placenta, i have another sonogram scheduled on july 7th to see if it has moved...i wouldn't worry to much about it yet. My doctor told me there is a good chance it will move up as the baby and uterus grow. Dont worry yourself sick. trust me when i first found out it scared me to death. Everything will be ok.
