I am a mother of 3 and currently pregnant !! I lost my little baby boy Collin at 18 weeks 6 day on may 30th 09. Do to IC (incompete cervix). I miss my little guy so much nothing or no one will ever take his place. Me and DH are currently pregnant and praying that with cerclage in place and prayer and a awesome new Doctor that we can finally fill our empty arms with a full term healthy baby. Our baby is due May 11 09 !!!

Glad to hear you are ok and in safe hands. Keep only the good thoughts in mind. The good part is that you get to feel the baby more often at this stage while you are at rest. Keep us posted with your news. Today, I am a bit nervous but trying to be positive. Getting my 16 week u/s to test the anatomy, etc. I think I feel him (yes it is a boy) once in a while at rest but...we'll see. Do you feel your baby?

Just got my test results back and they are negative, yay! That means the risks of anything happening the next 2-3 weeks are very minimal. I am contemplating whether or not to basically go on bed rest though, since my cervix is still shortening. My own doctor is not a fan of bed rest, but so many sites say it may prevent early labor when you have incompetent cervix. After all the baby is pushing less down on the cervix when you are off your feet. My mom arrived yesterday and is here for 7 weeks, so that is good. It means that either way I can take it easier. I am also waiting to hear back from my doctor about whether or not we can do progesterone injections which is known to help prevent preterm labor. I can't thank everyone enough for the kind and encouraging comments you sent me after my last post. I was so touched by the friendships I have here and so thankful for the prayers. Much love, Karin

Dear friends, please pray for me and baby. I had an extra ultrasound today that I personally requested because is has been 8 weeks since they checked my cervix. I am funneling - meaning my cervix is getting shorter. It is now about 2.7 whereas it was 3.5 8 weeks ago. Studies have shown that women with a cervix shorter than 2.5 has a 50% chance of going into early labor. My doctor took a swap to test for Fetal Fibronectin, a protein that is produced when the body is preparing for labor. I should have the test results by the end of the day. If they are positive there is a 15% chance I will go into labor the next 2 weeks. Please pray it will be negative!! Either way they will be keeping a close eye on me and I will have another ultrasound in two weeks. I am so glad I followed my heart and requested this extra scan, even if I don't have any labor symptoms. Of course I am anxiously waiting for these results - it will be a long afternoon. Hi... Thanks!! No I didn't and I'm really upset bc the day I actually went in bc of the cramping I was supp to get my cervix remeasured since at week 14/15 it measured 3.1 and closed... Within two weeks it was open and pretty much too late. I'm praying for you and all the lovely ladies that have complicated pregnancies (heck... Everyone pregnant too!) I'm dealing, but think I'm going to go to counseling bc this time it hit hard. I mean they all did, but this time it was great and I was feeling her move and now nothing...
I truly hope your doctor gives you all the atention you need to keep that lil baby inside u till he/she is ready to be safe in your arms!!!
