MommyJewels - Monday, 2 June
So freaking happy for you! I updated your week for you. I am praying that things are going well for you. I hope things go quickly and smoothly. Johnny can't wait to meet Swayer!

samlib - Monday, 2 June
hey! how are you doing???
i saw your posts...how ya holding up???

CD2007 - Sunday, 1 June
I just went through the same thing...having the contractions but just not dilating...Went to the hospital twice this week, I just wouldnt dilate past 2cm...ugh! Hang in there and good luck! Hopefully we will both be holding our little ones soon!

AlyEwing-Ball - Sunday, 1 June
I think if they're bad enough that you can't talk/walk through them or if they're bad enough that you are getting distressed then you need to phone them again. Surely putting you through that distress isn't good for you.

I wouldn't hesitate to call them at the end of the day - that's what they're there for!!

Good luck and keep me posted!!

xxx

MommyJewels - Sunday, 1 June
Oh gosh...so you went to the hospital. I'm not sure how the were measuring your contractions. I guess I had a different scale. Did they think your contractions were strong enough to dilate you? Are you effaced at all? What time did you go to the hospital? If you can't sleep and they get worse or don't get better I would go back. If you can walk great...at least walk around your place and see if they get more intense.

In the meantime...try to distract yourself. Play music through the contractions, take a nice shower, etc. I PRAY that you don't have to have a long pre or false labor. THAT SUCKS. He needs to just COME on OUT. OUT. OUT. OUT.

MommyJewels - Sunday, 1 June
SwaddleMe's are the best thing ever. All the blankets almost are not square and a pain to swaddle. ESPECIALLY at 3am. Johnny has not slept yet without his blue Swaddle. I am going to buy another one. I LOVE IT.

I would get your carseat checked by a professional. My doctor said that 90% of them are put in incorrectly. I have some info on where to go if you would like it. Which carseat did you get?

I never thought I would talk about products so much in depth until...baby!

Well..get comfy in that pad. You'll be wearing them for a long time. I despise pads. Now I'm wearing them everywhere. I can't figure out if the ones below or on my boobies are more disgusting.

Welcome to week 39...I hope that Swayer gets the memo that it's time to get the heck out now. Eviction notice has been sent, has been processed and he is on his second notice!!!

melsniff - Sunday, 1 June
ok, i put two pictures up...i'll put better ones up later.. without the oxygen tubes!!

melsniff - Sunday, 1 June
okay, so i FINALLY can sit down for two seconds!
LABOR: so I was induced around 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday. I guess I had tested positive for the strep B so they wouldn't break my water until I had a full dose of antibiotics down my iv, which takes 4 hours. they ended up waiting until I had two does though. So in the meantime I'm on pitocin and having regular contractions that are 2 minutes apart and pretty painful. But alas, after 8 hours, I was still 2 cm...which is what I was when I came in. I knew once they broke my water my labor would go fast, because last time I went from 1-10 in 2 hours (only after my water was broken). So anyhow, at 10:00 p.m. I am pretty miserable, but still not wanting the epidural... but brace yourself, b/c if you decide to go natural once your water is broken it intensifies by like a thousand percent! So they broke my water and I thought I was going to die! It was so bad that my husband had them come check me after 10 minutes. (they only like to check you every 4 hours). So I was already at a 5. It just went really fast! I dilated in 2 hours, pushed for about 10 and he was out. Yes, I did tear but not as bad as last time. Let me just say, there are NO possible words to describe the pain. In fact, you just keep thinking there is NO possible way it could get any worse and it does. I literally wanted to shoot myself or something. Here's the bad part, you will get to a point where you think you cannot go a second longer, but obviously have no choice. You don't want to get to the point where you are in intolerable pain and get the epidural because once you ask for it, it generally takes at least 20 minutes to get someone in there...and then it can take a bit for it to work, its not instant! With my other son I did ask for one, but it didn't work. It only numbed my legs and I still felt everything.

Okay, so once Eli came out he was kind of grunting really funny. They said he must have fluid in his lungs. They said because he descended so fast, that's a normal side effect because in the natural course of labor they get rid of any fluid in their lungs because of all the pressure. Well, in fast labors sometimes that doesn't happen. So they wanted to watch him overnight in Special Care. Well, he also was breathing super fast, around 100 times per minute. Normal is 40-60. So anyhow, that's what they thought the problem was but it could have been one of 3 things... either infection, undeveloped lungs, or just never getting rid of the fluid during labor. So all they knew is there was fluid and he was having trouble breathing but there is no definitive test to tell what is what. So they just had to keep monitoring it and sort of treat for all three. Its kind of weird. So yeah, they put him on antibiotics in case it was infection (but it takes 3 full days to get the dose) which immediately put him there for at least 3 days. They also started doing tons of blood tests and put him on oxygen to help him breathe slower. I don't know, it was just a big mess. There is so much more that goes into it ...I'll spare you all the details...b/c I might write a book if I don't stop!
He is still there and hopefully should come home today. I'm gonna call in an hour or so after the doctor rounds and see what's up. I just came home last night. Its been hard because I need to feed him every 3 hours so pretty much have had to be there around the clock. But last night I had enough pumped that they could make it through the night. I just needed to come home and get sleep and also get Silas home (he was with the grandparents for 5 days and I barely saw him).
So anyhow, I've been an emotional wreck because they wouldn't even let me hold him for a couple days, or feed him. At one point they told me I couldn't even touch him...grrrr. And I missed my little boy like CRAZY! I finally got discharged yesterday and my husband and I took him out to dinner and stuff while my in-laws sat with the baby... and we were walking around Petco, because he wanted to see the fish....and I'm bawling my eyes out b/c I just missed him! Its been a little rough, but I'm so excited to bring Eli home! And I'm still in SO much pain. I can barely walk. I'm beginning to wonder if I might have an infection or something b/c its getting worse rather than better. Lol, be prepared the first time you stand up after you have the baby you feel like your bottom is going to fall out! Its pretty painful and takes awhile before you feel normal again.
But yeah, I'm just about to post a few pictures, so check it out! Sorry it took me so long, but I haven't been home at all and like I said, I have not stopped. I am not exaggerating...I've literally had about 10 hours sleep in the past 4 days. I'm like a walking zombie!
Well, hopefully I'll hear news soon that your little one has arrived! Let me know how things are going!!

MommyJewels - Sunday, 1 June
Hey...well I guess I am glad that I didn't go. I couldn't have done all that walking anyhow. When you said wrap blanket things...are you talking about the "SwaddleMe?"...that is a MUST have:)

raynbowmami - Sunday, 1 June
There is something in semen that helps with the process. That's why they say have sex. Unfortunately for me I have none i can get. Only thing I can do is uh take care of myself. There is also something in your own orgasms that help as well. So since I've been doing that like everyday....it should help.

samlib - Saturday, 31 May

pinkribbonmom - Friday, 30 May
Sorry that there wasn't any progress at your appointment! He will come when he's ready. I hope you are hanging in there!! :)

nmck - Friday, 30 May
He is doing very well. He started taking baby Zantac this week for acid reflux. I did not realize how common this problem is in babies! It is helping. At this stage he still acts like a newborn. I can't wait until June so I can start following what his development should be like. It's strange to not know what to expect. I hope you are feeling ok for the next week or so!

nmck - Friday, 30 May
I just shot water through my nose after reading your comment about the she-penis needing therapy. Hysterical!

tlc - Thursday, 29 May
thanks for the reply re: dropping. very encouraging!

pinkribbonmom - Wednesday, 28 May
I hope your appointment goes well today and that you've made more progress!! :)

christelle - Wednesday, 28 May
Hi! Just wondering how things are going? I added some photos to my page that I thought you might like (cherry blossoms and one of my Japanese wedding, in addition to a couple of bump photos). Hope this last stretch is going smoothly for you. I'm totally enjoying my maternity leave and although I'm excited for the baby to come, I think I can handle another couple of weeks of self-indulgence before his arrival :)

melsniff - Tuesday, 27 May
So I'm in the hospital as we speak, being induced... Was 2 cm when I got here, yay!! I'll keep you posted, I hope it goes fast like last time!

melsniff - Tuesday, 27 May
lol, its funny how people have weird cravings...i haven't had any with either of my pregnancies! who knows!
so how were they? lol, how annoyed would he be if when he got back you decided it didn't sound good anymore!
i'm good, just really tired. i've gotten like 3 hours in 3 days. and i'm itching like CRAZY! i go in tomorrow morning for another non-stress test. i just spoke with the RN that helped me sat. night and she said to specifically ask to speak to a doctor when i go in and express my concerns and he should probably do whatever we decide as far as inducing. so, if everything goes well, tomorrow should be the big day.... or the beginning of it anyway.
so, we'll see!
how was your weekend?

pinkribbonmom - Tuesday, 27 May
Hi there! I've been thinking of you! I know you're getting so close!! The last days are the hardest. Hang in there! You'll have your little man before you know it!

hey everyone!! yes Baby Mara is here! We were induced on Thursday night due to high blood pressure at my NST, it was wayy HIGH!~ so they started the induction that night..then Friday morning started pitocin (wicked drug) and around 12 i asked for epidural, it worked so well but just a little too well because when i started to push at 5:30pm i couldn't feel a thing, pushed for 2 hours then they said with her being face up she prob wouldn't get over the pubic bone and i would need a c-section, needless to say i CRIED i was so sad, i didn't want one at all! ... 8:34pm 5lbs 110z. 18 inches Mara was born May 23, 2008~ i will post pics and more details on page if interested in teh next couple days..she is down to 5lbs 20z when we came home today, she likes sleeping too much and not eating like she should! she is going tomorrow for a jaundice check, she was fine then yesterday her numbers went up, so she isn't really peeing as she should, she has poops tho... :) thanks for ALL the caring messages!! i can't wait to hear who had thier baby and see stories and pics! it's so amazing how everything comes complete the minute you hear them or see them.. life is so much more meaningful for sure!! best wishes to you all!! Tammy, Brian & BABY MARA JOAN~~
