Hello. My name is Kristin. I got married on April 8, 2006 to my very wonderful and supportive husband, Casey. On November 7th, we found out that we were having our first baby. We were very excited about it, especially since the dr. told me I had PCOS and that there was only a 15% chance of getting pregnant. I really didn't think it would every happen, but the first month we tried, sure enough, i was pregnant. A couple of months ago we found out that we are having a wonderful little boy. Since then i have been counting down the days our due date July 21st, 2008, now I dont have to count that long. We found out that we are having a c-section on July 9th!He will be named Brayson Jonathan Brown. The meaning of the name Brayson is God's Gift and that definately is what he is.

How`s my pregnancy doing?

This happens to me as well. It is scary. I too, wake up choking and feel like I cant catch my breath. After a while I figured out it happens mainly if I eat anything before bed. So I try not to, and ,yes, prop your head up. Good luck!

sstacks - Tuesday, 1 July
I had this same exact thing happen to me last week! I, too, was shook up but went back to sleep and was fine. Just try to prop your head up with extra pillows before you go to sleep.

Angiepangie - Tuesday, 1 July
I've been sleeping semi-reclined (propped up with 5 pillows) for a few weeks now , partially because of that. It has relieved my constant heartburn 90%, and has also cured my pelvic pain! Side sleeping is overrated! LOL! Just make sure you put a pillow under your knees, so you don't end up sliding down in the bed. There is nothing worse than that constant lump-in-your-throat feeling from chronic acid reflux!

donnamarie - Tuesday, 1 July
i had that happen once (the stomach acid thing) i drank a bit of water and stayed up for a little bit, after about 30 min, I felt safe to go to sleep and felt fine the next day.

Thanks for your comment on my driving concern. I too have not been driving very often. I will walk to the grocery store and everywhere else that is close by. However, I had to run an errand for my husband and could not avoid the freeway to get to my destination. I live in Southern Cali so it can become quite cumbersome to elude the freeways. I guess you are right though... I SHOULD take advantage of others driving me around for now. It won't be long before I am the designated driver!

Hey there... I had surgery when I was about 12 weeks along, and so my sleep trouble started very early for me, so my doctor prescribed me Ambien..... I think 10mg.... I stopped taking it after I healed from my surgery, but just because I didn't need it anymore... the doctor said it would be fine for the baby.... hope that helps..

vbbaby08 - Wednesday, 25 June
I have been on ambien since about three months along....they say it wont hurt baby..Im not sure of lunesta but they are in the same family. if your dr prescribed it, I would try it. I dont know what i would do without the ambien. Good Luck !

Mindieswan - Wednesday, 25 June
I would think it's not a good idea to take lunesta. As strong as they say it is, I would think not. Do you normally take it? Let me know what you find out, I would be interested in knowing...

YOUR WELCOME!

CSALEE - Friday, 13 June
if it makes you feel any better the dr told me that if the medicine doesnt keep me from having contractions and i go into labor that he isnt going to stop it because the baby would be fine at this point. i was three days late with my first so this is a whole new ballgame for me. i am hoping to hold out for at least another week.

CSALEE - Friday, 13 June
I WAS STILL HAVING THE BH CONTRACTIONS LAST NIGHT EVEN AFTER I TOOK THE MEDICINE TO STOP CRAMPING. DR TOLD ME THEY SHOULD BE SPORADIC AND NOT LIKE YOU CAN TIME THEM WITH EVEN TIMES BETWEEN THEM

ragskusa24 - Friday, 13 June
I have been having some strange and disturbing dreams too. I know its pretty common...especially if your a first time mommy, cause you have no idea what to expect! Don't worry though...their just dreams! Your baby will be just fine.

blessedmom2b - Friday, 13 June
About the pain you are having on your lower right side. I had that in 2006 and it ended up been appendicitus. It is probably nothing but pregnancy related aches/etc...but to be sure... press your abdomen in and let go...if it hurts worse when you let go that is probably appendicitus... That's called 'rebound' if you let go and it hurts worse than when you press on it. Call a doctor or go to the er if that's the case. My doc sent me straight to ER when that happened to me and I got my appentix out...no big deal. I was in so much pain though and it got worse to where I couldn't walk. I just think it's better safe than sorry b/c you don't want it to rupture if it indeed needs to come out...esp while prego. Anyway, that's a little quick test you can do on yourself to see if you have rebound and need to have it checked. I hope everything is okay, though!

I know what you mean about the kick counts. I don't ever really feel that much better after doing them. And I am constantly questioning what I am feeling when I am trying to count. It really bugs me!! The doctor also told me that most babies are most active between 8pm and 2am, so she said not to worry too much about not feeling that much movement during the day. But I don't really feel like is has been most active at night. Ugh! Well I guess there is not really much we can do but sit it out and wait. It is out of our hands in the end anyway, so I am just really trying to stop freaking out and enjoy these last few weeks. (Actually my doctor said not to expect to deliver early, so looks like I might have even longer than I thought )

babylove723 - Thursday, 12 June
Hey! Just thought I would let you know what the doctor said at my appt yesterday. I told her that I noticed the baby was a lot more quiet over the last few days and she gave me the standard "Do you know how to do kick counts" response. I am sure you know all about the kick counts by now. She told me to pick one hour at night, and look for 10 movements. If I don't feel 10, eat something sweet and lay in a quiet room for another hour. As long as I feel 10 in those 2 hours everything is fine. I know this dosen't really answer our questions, but I am guessing that as long as we are feeling some kind of movement we must be ok. I am a little nervous though, because she felt my tummy to see about how big the baby is and she guessed about 3 1/2 lbs. She didn't seem concerned at all, but that seems really small to me???

babylove723 - Wednesday, 11 June
Thanks! I can't wait to see how much he looks like this once he is born!

momaschatzy - Wednesday, 11 June
I don't feel a lot of the sensations the other mommy to be-s have. I feel movement...more like baby is stretching and trying to make more room or something. I don't feel scratches, or like an arm is coming out or anything.

erica224 - Wednesday, 11 June
Hey, saw your message on week by week.. It doesnt hurt when the dr checks you for dialation.. It just feels like a little pressure. Its pretty simple, he should check for dialation with his hand and just feels around the cervix. Good luck with your pregnancy!!
