I am a 36 y/o G4P0 mom-to-be- that's medical lingo for 3 previous miscarriages, but one now on the way that seems great! After years of being dissappointed, I think I am just now far along enough to get excited. I have been practicing peds in the southeast for 4 and 1/2 years and truly have the best job in the whole world. Seeing my patients grow up healthy and happy...and then have siblings... is the closest I have ever gotten to motherhood. Yeah, I know it must be much easier when you get to "give them back", but I love them just the same. Before medical school, I was a public health professional in preventive medicine, so I like to say my goal is health for all kids (mine included), not just helping during times of illness. I still learn from my patients and their parents everyday. This has increased exponentially since they have found out I am finally to be a mom. I really hope that this makes me an even better doctor...it certainly can't hurt. I have a FANTASTIC husband who is even more excited than me, if that's possible. We can't wait for baby Francesca (Frankie) to make her way into this world!
I am willing to serve as a sounding board for any questions that anyone may have. I am learning from the posts here all the time! I never believed how bad leg cramps and nosebleeds could really be. Very uncool to start bleeding in the middle of patient care:). Let me know if I can ever help...It may take awhile since I still work full time, but I am pretty good with getting back to people!
