My profile

Hi! My name is Jackie. I joined this site a bit late. I am a teacher on summer vacation. I am all finished with my baby's room and my house is immaculate. I am bored as hell waiting for my baby to come. I am up during the middle of the night frequently, so I thought this would be a good way to vent my frustrations, gain knowledge from other Mommies-To-Be and share my knowledge as well.

My husband and I have been married for a little over a year. We weren't expecting to get pregnant so soon after, but we are thrilled. We are expecting a baby girl who we've already named Makenzie.

Message to all This may be interesting to some of you. Seema`s email is seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

Hi there,

I work for a television production company based in the UK . We are currently making a documentary for ITV1 exploring the issues surrounding pregnancy and eating disorders. The film will be a thoughtful and insightful look into this extremely sensitive subject.

We’re in the research stage of our production and very keen to chat to women who are, or have been, pregnant whilst having an eating disorder.

If you’re interested in having a chat or finding out more about our documentary, it would be really great to hear from you. All communication would be in complete confidence.

You can contact me on: seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

Sx

OMG! Congrats! Hopefully your baby will come tonight when you are watching your favorite show. He or she will want to watch it with you. I can't imagine my due date passing my up, but it's possible. I would talk his little ear off until he comes and tell me to please hush. (lol) Good luck!

babymamavh - Monday, 21 July
Thanks for your warm thoughts! Do you have an induction day in sight?

How are you feeling? Your due date is getting closer and closer! HOW EXCITING! I am doing pretty well. The nausea started kicking in with me for the past few days. Otherwise--things are looking good. Keep me posted!!!!!

Gees you sound like me with all the doctors apts. I swear I am up the doctors like 4 time a week, for Bi-weekly NST, weekly ultasounds, and the doctors apt of course. But they will not let me go up the same days, so everyday I have to drive to the damn hospital. I will be so glad when I have her!!

Hey Jackie,
Yes, Fort Drum is only ten miles from here! I think it is so wonderful that you have had such a wonderful pregnancy experience. Did it go by quickly? I am hoping that my nine months go as smoothly as my first few weeks! I am SO lucky that I don't have the morning sickness nonsense to deal with (knock on wood). I love Vera Bradley purses too, and you are so right about your baby bedding looking just like her designs! What fun! I am waiting until my Doctor's appointment--and when he says everything is "good to go", I know that I won't be able to resist buying things already. Our spare room is totally empty right now. I just cannot WAIT to start getting things ready! YEAH! Talk to you later! Nicole

Hi Jackie! My husband and I actually live 60 miles north of Syracuse in a place called Watertown, New York! Syracuse is always my landmark for explaining to people where we are--since MANY people have never heard of it!

I received my bachelor's and master's degrees from SUNY Potsdam. I taught 5th grade for my first 4 years, 3rd grade for two years, and last year--I looped with my third graders to 4th grade. Looping (esp. the 3-4 loop) is HUGE in our district due to all of the NYS tests!! This coming year, I will be going back to 3rd with the option to loop at the end of the year (depending upon how well my little "community" meshes together)! For the past two years I have been SPOILED with THE best class in the world! I have forgotten what problems or bad behavior even looks like! We shall see :)

I am feeling GREAT! I was FREAKED OUT at first because I had constant mild cramping. I waited a week to test, because I was convinced that "AF" was right around the block. BUT--I have taken THREE tests and they are all VERY positive. Luckily, my cramping has stopped. My major symptoms have been a REALLY sore chest and I have a VERY sensitive nose right now :) Certain scents make me feel sick! I also need to use the bathroom like CRAZY! Other than that, things are great. I feel SO lucky to have my first trimester be in the SUMMER!

You look GREAT!! I am SO excited for you! A baby GIRL...what could be better? I saw your nursery on your page and it is JUST perfect!!!!! What a beautiful job!! I am already excited to get to that point. You DEF have to keep me posted! What an exciting time!!!! Talk to you soon!
Nicole :)

There are definitely some pregnancy rules of etiquette that I have learned. #1- if you're going to comment on how a pregnant lady looks, only tell her that she looks great. NEVER mention that her butt has gotten bigger. #2- be patient. She will contact YOU when something significant happens!
Today I had 5 different people call me- granted I had a dr. appt. today and most of them knew, but come on! I don't even feel like going out in public at all just because I don't want to talk to anyone! I'll stay at home and enjoy my dog!

momof2oneonway! - Wednesday, 16 July
I have two other children ( and they are fine) I can't sleep but on anything but my back. I am not a doctor but I am going by my own advice, only we really know our bodies. :)

Colie - Wednesday, 16 July
Hi Jackie! WOW--we have a lot in common. I am also a 30 year old teacher and my husband and I just found out that we are expecting our first child in March. The only difference is--YOU are due any day! CONGRATS TO YOU! I LOVE LOVE the name Makenzie. ADORABLE! Good luck to you! Stay in touch!

momof2oneonway! - Wednesday, 16 July
I've been sleeping on my back the whole pregnancy I am not a doctor but I don't think it hurts anything. If your worried just stick a thin blanket or flatted pillow under your back that way you are angled up alittle aleast. Best wishes..

momof2oneonway! - Monday, 14 July
I have been on the pill on and off since I was 17 and I NEVER got big boobs..

CanadianNat - Sunday, 13 July

Oh your soo lucky that you haven't got any stretch marks! I wasn't putting on my cocoa butter religously..only every once in awhile and then i got that bad rash on my belly so i got my steroid cream for it and then a week an a half after putting that steroid cream on twice daily i got my stretch marks..grr. So after my rash cleared up i started putting my cocoa butter back on and then i've noticed my rash coming back on all the areas where I'll put the cocoa butter. So, I'm not sure if maybe I'm allergic to it? I'm not going to use it anymore today I went out and got Bio-Oil...a lot of ppl on here talk about how great that stuff is so hopefully this will help me.
That's really great that your 2 cm right now. Definitely continue to walk and hopefully you will be furthur along next week or just go into labor!!! I'm sure you would love that

momof2oneonway! - Sunday, 13 July
breast inlargement?? umm.. I should go on that birth control..lol. .

suzzy - Saturday, 12 July
I had the merena for 4 1/2 years after my first pregnancy.. i had a little cramping and spotting for a few days after it was inserted.. i loved the merena.. no weight gain as it has very little hormones.. no period ( i understand that varies for each woman, some have light periods or regular).. my husband said sometimes he could feel the string during intrercourse but over all i was very happy.. no pill or shot to remember taking.. as soon as this baby is delivered i will have it put in again. good luck on preg..

shelby21 - Saturday, 12 July
I was on Mirena before I decided to have this baby, and I did not experience either of those things. The only thing about it is it really hurt me to have it put in and I bled continuously for like 4-6 months. But after that, I didn't have a period at all. I had a really good experience with it and would recommend it to anyone. You just have to tough it out in the beginning, and try to remember that all of the adverse symptoms do go away eventually and then you don't have to worry about birth control or a period for a long time!!!

megcblu - Friday, 11 July
Hey there,

Thanks for making me feel like I'm not totally insane about the legs. My hub totally doesn't get it. Its such an indescribable feeling. Hopefully our babies will arrive soon- guess they are just getting us prepared for sleepless nights. I'm gonna try the soap tonight. Do you think any type would work? It sounds like such an old wives tale but I'll try anything at this point.
