OK...so I think I finally figured out this webpage thing-a-ma-bob...wahoo. That is my accomplishment for the day since I am technologically challenged. Anywho, the name is Kim. The hubby and I are expecting our first child in June and we couldn't be more excited. Pregnancy is really emotional for me. I feel so many things all at once...I'm happy and excited and nervous, and scared all at the same time. Mostly I am impatient. I want to meet my baby NOW, but I understand that baby needs a little bit more time before he or she is ready to meet mommy and daddy. Anywho, that's about all for now. In the meantime I am going to continue to procrastinate, and will try and upload some pictures.
*About the Mommy*
Name: Kim
Age: 27
Height: 5'6
*About The Daddy*
Name: Nick
Height: 6'4 and a little more
Are you still together: Happily Married!!
*About Your Pregnancy*
Is this your first pregnancy: Yes!!
When did you find out you were pregnant: In the beginning of October...I guess we were about 5-6 weeks along
Was it planned: Baby is a very pleasant "surprise"
What was your first reaction: OMG...what bad timing (we just moved from NY to Mississippi so that I could pursue a doctoral degree), but then it sank in and now we couldn't be happier.
Who was with you when you found out: The hubby
Who was the first person you told: My sister, I think
How did your parents react: Just how I thought they would.
How far along are you: 14 weeks..one day away from 15 weeks...
What was your first symptom: Nausea, frequent urination, bigger boobs and an overall feeling of yuckiness
What is your due date: June 3, 2008
Do you know the sex of the baby: Not yet, but we find out in 6 weeks at our next appointment
Have you picked out names: Nick likes Jack for boy. I like Emerson. For a girl we both like Mabel.
Do you have stretch marks: Not yet...Keeping my fingers crossed
Have you felt the baby move: Hmm...I'm not sure. I have this weird feeling in my tummy...kind of like gas, but I think it is too early, so maybe it's just gas
Have you heard the heartbeat: YES! I fell in love that day!
*About the birth*
Will you keep the baby: I will keep the baby, love the baby, and do my best to raise baby for the rest of my life.
Home or hospital birth: Hospital...home birth sounds nice, but I am paranoid and want to have all medical technology available to me.
Natural or medicated birth: MEDICATED!! I can't even give blood without sobbing.
Who will be in the delivery room with you: Nick, our doctor, and other medical professionals. This is a time for he and I.
Will you breastfeed: I would like to for at least for 6 months or so.
Do you think you'll need a c-section: As of now I don't, but between you and I, I was kind of hoping for one.
Will you cry when you hold the baby for the first time: OMG...I'm sure. I can't wait to meet my child.
What's the first thing you might say to him/her: "I love you more than anything, and I promise to do my best."
Would you let someone videotape the birth: I don't think so. It is such a private and emotional time. I will allow pictures after baby and I are cleaned up.
Are you excited about the birth, or scared: So scared, but excited at the same time.
March 1, 2008: Time seems to be moving a little faster nowadays. I suppose that is a good thing because most of the 2nd trimester seemed to drag on by. I am terribly busy this weekend. I have three papers and an exam this week and all I want to do is paint Maible's room. Perhaps I will wake up early tomorrow and get my work done before midnight and then I wil be able to paint in the evening. On Wednesday the hubby and I are going back to NY for a visit. My little sister is throwing me a baby shower on the 9th and I am so excited. I can't wait to see all of my friends. We've been in Mississippi way too long.
