Welcome

My name is Rachel, I'm 29 and we are trying for number 4! I miscarried at the end of october last year and it took me quite along time to get over it. So we have just started trying again in feb '08.

Thanks for visiting my page and good luck to all TTC and all you pregnant mummy's

29th April 08

11 dpo. BFP. I'm so shocked you wouldnt believe. I dont have many symptoms. My bb's hurt slightly, I'm a bit more tired than ususl, my gums bled when i brushed my teeth and i feel a bit bloated. Other than that i really didnt think we had done it this month. It was only cos my sister found out she was pg the day before and gave me her spare test that i tested. Otherwise i was convinced it hadnt happened. I pray it sticks this time. Good luck to everyone ttc, I really really really hope you all get the answer that you want soon. xx

oh gee hun im sorry to hear, I really hope that it is neg and your bub is fine....I was going to have the test but how I see it is I wont be having and abortion anyway even if our baby does have down syndrome....I hope the wait for the results is not to painful...Let me know how it went...

Thinking of you!
Iam home, and all went well with mine. It was very simple and painless. I found giving blood hurts more. Iam certain you had yours by now (thursday).
Iam off to have a rest, & hope you do too.
Take care,
lisa

Hi, I just wanted to wish you luck with the amnio. The actual procedure was painless and quick and they did not use a numbing thing on me. We also paid for the results the following day and it was a relief not having to wait. good luck with it

butterfly2418 - Wednesday, 16 July
Hi I read your post about the amnio. My last pregnancy I had a high chance of having a baby with spina bifida. So I deceide to have the amnio for peace of mind plus the fact that if she did they would have to delivery me early so baby would not have disease as babd. Well after 2 weeks of waiting for the results it came out negative and was confirmed that we were having a girl. So for us it was a relief.

The amnio did hurt and I did have some contractions after the procedure on my way home. I was told I could go to work after the procedure but I needed rest and to destress. The hardest was waiting for the results. I am overweight so the doc said that may be why it hurt for me. Plus they did not numb me. There is cream called Emla and LMX that numbs the skin but it must be applied 30 minutes prior.
Good luck and try not to stress.

Hi there. Just read your post about down's. As I'm sure you know, it's not for certain at all. Try not to fill yourself with too much worry!!!

windy - Tuesday, 15 July
Hi Rachel-
I read your post about an elevated risk for Down's. I just read in my pregnancy book something that you may want to hear. I'm just going to copy it word for word: "Over 95% of women who have amniocentesis learn that their baby does NOT have the disorder that the test was done for." Try not to worry too much-

Hey how are you? Yeah im doing as good as possible, have been so sick with a chest infection and find it hard at times to breath so I am just resting up as much as possible....Have been feeling little kicks every now and then but not like I did with Indee, she was such a kicker up untill the day she broke my waters lol...I had alot of energy yesterday to and I cleaned so much but then we had people come over and I told them no shoes in my ouse but they did anyway and draged dirt in my house all over my tiled floors so I had the vac out and cleaned my floor and them moped it...Glad you are starting to feel better...xx

i said to gordon what about a home birth? he just shrugged his shoulders and said i'd prefer you in hopital incase anything goes wrong it's early days yet so we will see .how did your midwife react when you suggested it?,they don't seem to do many home births nowadays did you have your other children without complications?at least at home you won't have to worry about mrsa.i agree with you about getting a surprise at the end of all our hard work but i have noticed that most ladies on here find out the babies sex so we must be in the minority xx

d10awn - Friday, 11 July
you're not kidding!it almost feels like my first pregnancy then reality kicks in when i hear my 2 falling out!!.i already feel a bit rounder in the tummy area!,i used to go to the gym a few times a week but since finding out i was pregnant i didn't want to risk it so i haven't been .i'm sure gentle exercise is good for you but i'll stay away for the first 3 months just to be on the safe side.i don't usually get very big ,being tall (5 foot 10)i can seem to carry the extra weight without showing too much,i only gained about 1 and a1/2 stones with ryan...bet now i've said this i'll end up a right bloater!!!!do you know what your having(boy/girl?)any preference?xx

d10awn - Thursday, 10 July
