basically the dr wants to watch and make sure your baby doesn't get too big as you might not be able to deliver him vaginally (meaning c-section) plus babies who are too big are at risk for certain prob. if your dr monitors you closely you should be just fine.

Hello! I just wanted to tell you that 97th percentile means that your baby is 97% bigger than the national average of babies at 30 weeks. 3% is bigger than yours.

from what I understand you have to get fired from a job in order to collect unemployement. You should see if your state offers help-if qualified you could collect food stamps, health insurance and financial help. I already quit my job cause it was too stressful being on my feet and arguing with stupid people but Im sure if you talk to your employer and tell them whats going on (or even have your Dr write you a note) they'll let you come back when maternity leave is done. And since you do office work, offer to help out as much from home until the baby comes. If you're in good standing w/ them they should be willing to work with you

woo! your going to have a BIG baby, best wishes.. :)

Yea, i accidentally put june instead of july, so it wont be until July 9th. Haha. No, my dr did not put me on meds. He said that i was controlling it well enough with diet, and i only had a mild case. But he said thats not what is making my baby big, if you could imagine that. Haha. But if that is what is making yours big, then meds would probably be good. It wont hurt anything anyway. Ive gained 21 lbs, so we are right there together on that. Im sure when it gets closer to time, the dr's will start agreeing on when to induce. I have to have a c-section. Not fun. But its worth it. My pelvic bones were really small but he said if the baby was small i would still have a chance of delivering.. that didnt happen :o) But yea, i bet it is frustrating.

Hello Dont worry about your dr.s call. I know what you mean. My dr told me this week that my baby is 5 lbs 3 oz. So, he is even bigger. You will probably have a c-section, or they will induce you early just so you arent having a 10 lbs baby. I have GD too, but my doc said i am controlling it well, so that has nothing to do with his size. lol. 97%th is really big. Which scares me to know mine is bigger than that, but what that means is that out of all the babies in the country, yours is only 3% smaller than the biggest recorded babies. Average is 50% and big is aroung 80%. But dont get too upset, because the larger the baby, the less "fragile" they are at the begining is what i say. I would rather mine be big. Hey keep me updated on whats going on, we are in the same boat, so it would be nice to have someone to relate to. Goodluck.

I seen your comment I am sorry I can't help you, but I know how you feel i have a thing "venous lakes" and it seems like the doctors don't even know what it is and how to deal with delivery with it! AHH>. best of luck on finding out :) ~ I have spent many sleepness nights and hours tring to research my problem my self.. best of luck.

Hi, I read your post about the military hospitals. I work for Tricare (military insurance), and I hear this all the time. If you don't mind me asking, what type of policy do you have? I might be able to give some suggestions to help you out.

allyson - Friday, 9 May
Hey there, congrats on your pregnancy. Saw your post about the military and the diff OB's, I have to deal with the same thing. It can be frustrating, I know. This is my third pregnancy, and this time with twins. I have had all my boys at a military hospital. Well, I wish you well on your pregnancy, don't stress too much about it. :o) Ally

I just got diagnosed with GD too and they were so picky about wha tkind of monitor I had to get and everything and I'm not even going to need it for only 7 weeks it's ridiculous also I have to have a home health nurse visit me at my house which I think is kinda weird plus I'm still in school for a few more weeks and I don't know how I'm going to carry around my monitor with me all day...thanks for letting me complain and I hope that we can vent to each other or something lol good luck!
