You guys are great . I heard some baby's will be miserable, crying a lot no matter what they do .You guys are lucky in that case.
Now thats what i was waiting to hear.. ..can we do it all by ourselves. Now i got the answer. If my parents couldn't make it, i've the confidence to do it all by ourselves.yeah ,my husband will get 3 weeks leave i guess.
I always wondered if we are allowed to pick the baby after having a c-section because baby needs mother .Thank you so much for finding time to explain.
I'll sure pray for your speedy recovery. take care.

wow..thanks a lot ,I didn't expect a quick reply as you might be busy with new baby doll.
I am looking forward for a vaginal birth with epidural.Anyways, I should be prepared for all type of procedures.
How are you now ..r u able to do tiny teeny house hold works?Do you have your parents with you to help? Myself and my husband are planning to do it all by ourselves. But he gets only 3 weeks paternity leave and our parents are in India.

Hi radhika ,
Congratulations for your lil hunny.i was reading the birth stories on this site.I am 23 weeks pregnant. We are also having our first lil girl .would like to ask you one doubt if you dont mind .why did you /the doctor opt for a c-section.I mean..was the baby in breech position, big baby or any other troubles ?

Hi. I have 3 boys already. My second son was induced (with the gel) 8 days overdue. He weighted 10lb 6oz at birth. And I went through the ENTIRE labour with NOT ONE pain medication of any sort. So yes - it is possible!

boy..oh..boy - Wednesday, 9 July
my doctor recommends the epidural...there is always the chance you might need an emergency c-section and if you don't have the epidural then they will put you to sleep. good luck

There are people who are induced who dont take pain meds. I've been induced and I cant do it without the epidural. Thats why I wanted a natural delivery this time around but he's just taking too long. I'll be induced on Thrusday. IV meds are okay in the beginning but soon the pain becomes to much for IV meds and they stop working. Thats why most people just go for the epidural. Instead of covering up the pain it just flat out blocks it.

Hey, I just read your message in 41 weeks...I just had my son on the 3rd, I wasn't induced, but, I was going to try and have him completely natural without meds...there was NO way I could have gone all the way through (keep in mind, my pain tolerance is weak, I hate to be in pain)... so I had the epidural...it was WONDERFUL!! I felt nothing after I had it put in. Even when I pushed him out it didn't hurt one bit!! I just thought I would share my experience with you...don't let it stray one way or the other though. Good Luck!! :)

When I was induced I had a shot of nubain at around 4cm, it lasted for an hour then I got my epidural around5-6 cm..

I just read your post about being induced. I was induced with my #1 (I was 17 days late--so yes...it can get worse!)...then went spontaneously with the other 3. I received epidurals with each with good effect (for the most part--there were some spotty uncovered places, mostly on my right side)....

I will tell you that I had IV pain medication with #2 (who was my most painful UNTIL I had this last one--good Jesus he hurt!)...Nubaine...and I got it only because the anesthesiologist wasn't getting there fast enough.

It did nothing but make me high. WIth this last one, it was the same thing with the anesthiologist (my little honey decided to come when everyone else decided to come--there were 23 woman in labor on the second day of a full moon....the day before, they delivered 62 women--the L&D nurses were on auto-pilot!)....they kept asking me if I wanted some morphine but I knew that it wouldn't work (I'm also a nurse, but in critical care)...morphine doesn't work on evolving pain==it works when the pain has already happened.

I refused, telling them it would just make me high. But not high enough to deal wiht the pain (I don't think you can get high enough!)....

I think they gave it to me anyway because I started saying REALLY stupid things at the end--like stuff you'd never say, describing my body in terms I wouldn't use outside my bedroom with my husband....

Good luck--M

ps I went 17 days with Nick, 6 days with Christina, 10 days with Lily and was one minute early with Pete....you just never know! And my pain relief response was different with each of them
