BIRTH STORY:

My water broke at work (at 3:30)! He was still really high (-3 station) so it was a gusher. My friend took me to the hospital. Merritt called Pat because I couldn't get him on the phone. It was so funny at work, everyone was buzzing around. I was still just 2 cm and 80% effaced. So they started me on pitocin and it didn't take long before I was having serious contractions right on top of each other.
I got my epidural at 9pm. I was dialating 1 cm and hour. Then I started feeling the contractions again in my bum. I talked the nurse and anestitist into giving me some more meds and was able to sleep for an hour until we discovered I was 10 cm. I pushed for an hour and a half. Good God! I was looking in the mirror and saw his head come to the edge and then sink back in. Once his head came out, the doc told me to wait, she was going to stretch my perinium, and I just grunted and out he came. I ripped a little, just a couple of stitches. I dry heaved a few times and actually threw up once. Pat left the room not long after that for a few minutes. The doc and nurse were looking at me like wtf? He stood off to the side during labor and my mom helped me push.

Pat cut the cord. He followed Taylor to the warmer and the nursery. He even put his first diaper on him. He came back that night with toys for him and he held him for two hours. And then came back twice the next day. We got discharged before he could get back on Friday and he had to go out of town this weekend. Everything is wonderful and I feel so blessed. I wish you all the best of luck. Lots of love!

hi, I had a LOT of comments on my weight, I went from 120 to 210 I just couldn't stop it... I had my baby on 6th August and I take my hat off to anyone that does this by themselves. Physically it isn't so difficult you have to be there for every feed anyway it's the emotional support that is the most needed especially in the first few weeks. It is all worth it, for me as soon as I held my baby I was in love. I haven't had more that 3 hours sleep in 3 weeks but even getting up in the middle of the night for a feed is rewarding. So enjoy the rest of your pregnancy, enjoy your labour (that may seem crazy to say - but you'll understand when it's over) and enjoy every moment. It's sooooo worth it!

I have gained quite a bit of weight too. I'm 5'6' and my normal weight is 130 and I've already gained 22lbs! I don't understand why people would ask such a question it is rude. I say don't stress you look great just ignore people.

Hey! Thanks for he comment. My hubby is actually retired Coast Guard (medically) and we're in Elizabeth City! Nice guess with the haircut though! Ha! He works on Airforce H-60's at Lear Sigler now. I'm working on getting some pregnant pics up soon!! Hope all is going well with your little boy!

Just wanted to stop by and say hey! Hope all is going well with you and lil' man. I am doing well just over watching myself get bigger and bigger.

How cute! I went this weekend to Babies-R-Us for baby furniture. They have beautiful things. I also wanted to get the cherry wood - it looks so beautiful, but my husband wasn't so crazy about it, so we decided to go with a honey finish. I didn't order it yet, but will do so next week. Does your baby moves a lot? My baby moves so much – I don’t remember my other two babies moving so much.

I also want to paint the baby's room. he will be sharing bedroom with my 11 year old. Thank God my son is soooo happy that I'm having a boy and doesn't mind at all sharing his room with him. He seems to be very happy that he is going to be a big brother and that he will teach him how to play baseball (my son loves baseball). I was also thinking of sponge painting one of the walls in blue just to give it a different look. I'm decorating sports theme. I found a beautiful set at overstock.com that matches with what my son has already. I wouldn't want to change the entire theme - I don't want my son to feel like I'm 'kicking him out'. Do you have a theme picked out yet?

I'm doing well. Baby moving a lot. I still sleep well (although I get up few times in the night to use the bathroom, but I go right back to sleep). I'm already shopping for baby furniture. How are you?

haha, my 15 lbs gain seems to have piled onto my face.. reckon thats possible??! lol. You look great too, but everybody always thinks they look worse than they actually do tho dont they! Just read through your page, hope everthing works out in the end for u with the baby's father. Im sure everything will change the 1st time he holds him (unless his heart is made of stone! lol) It's got to be a good sign that he came with u to your scan. Good luck.

How are you doing? I had some bleeding on Monday but everything is ok now. I was just about to move into my parents house on Aug 23rd (so I won't be alone so much) and they're house burned down on Monday. Monday was a bad day. haha. So much for planning, huh?

It's funny you mention the snoogle pillow. I saw it on Amazon yesterday and it had great reviews. I think I'm going to end up getting that. Thanks for your help!

I was anorexic in high school and tried throwing up a couple of times. I even drank this stuff called IPEC or something like that..to induce vomiting. I am almost 100 pounds heavier than I was in high school. The posts on this website and e-mails have really helped me. You are gorgeous and try to be healthy for your baby. That is the only thing that keeps me from going into a deep depression. I have stopped all my medications..I probably need something..but my ob thinks that all anti depressants are the devil. You look tiny...but as women..we are brain washed to worry about this stuff. You are beautiful!

Singing J - Saturday, 11 Aug
Well, I hear ya about the situation.. Congrats on the boy!.. me too! ;-D

Tiffanie - Friday, 10 Aug
Alright went to the Dr and they said try Maylocks, Mylanta or Pepcid AC for OTC stuff. Also lay off greasy food, tomato type stuff, juice, drink more milk, nothing spicy, and try smaller more frequent meals. Also, try not to lay down when you have heartburn and stay vertical. And if all That doesn't work she gave me a prescription. I hope this helps :)
