BIRTH STORY:

My water broke at work (at 3:30)! He was still really high (-3 station) so it was a gusher. My friend took me to the hospital. Merritt called Pat because I couldn't get him on the phone. It was so funny at work, everyone was buzzing around. I was still just 2 cm and 80% effaced. So they started me on pitocin and it didn't take long before I was having serious contractions right on top of each other.
I got my epidural at 9pm. I was dialating 1 cm and hour. Then I started feeling the contractions again in my bum. I talked the nurse and anestitist into giving me some more meds and was able to sleep for an hour until we discovered I was 10 cm. I pushed for an hour and a half. Good God! I was looking in the mirror and saw his head come to the edge and then sink back in. Once his head came out, the doc told me to wait, she was going to stretch my perinium, and I just grunted and out he came. I ripped a little, just a couple of stitches. I dry heaved a few times and actually threw up once. Pat left the room not long after that for a few minutes. The doc and nurse were looking at me like wtf? He stood off to the side during labor and my mom helped me push.

Pat cut the cord. He followed Taylor to the warmer and the nursery. He even put his first diaper on him. He came back that night with toys for him and he held him for two hours. And then came back twice the next day. We got discharged before he could get back on Friday and he had to go out of town this weekend. Everything is wonderful and I feel so blessed.
