It all started on sunday the 9th of December, I started getting frequent braxton hicks contractions. They were painless but were coming around 5 an hour.

I knew it had to mean something because throughout my whole pregnancy I only really noticed them a few times. So I asked my husband if we could go

for a walk. We went for a quick 20 min walk because it was quite late and dark outside. We came back, watched a movie and then went to sleep.

In the morning on the 10th, I was sleeping when my baby started moving a lot. His movements woke me up and then I felt my undies get a little wet.

I thought I had peed myself, I went to the bathroom to check and just dismissed it as pee. I got changed and got myself breakfast. I was sitting down eating,

when I had to sneeze! I sneezed and felt a huge gush come out. It was soo disgusting running down my leg lool.. I got changed and put on a pad and the water

just kept on coming out! I think i had to change my clothes about 3 times because I kept filling up the pads and leaking everywhere!

I went to tell my husband who was still sleeping that my waters had broken, he was sooo excited. He had a huge smile on his face lol so cute.. then I started getting

period like cramps. They werent that bad just an achey feeling. I called the hospital to tell them my waters had broken and they told me to come in. About 2 hours later,

we arrived at the hospital. They took a urine sample and a sample of my amniotic fluid to make sure I was in actual labour. And they monitored the baby for about 2 hours.

By that time, the contractions were getting stronger. But were irregular, coming at 4 mins, 7 mins, 10 mins etc. and were painful but bearable.

They moved me to the postnatal ward because I was not in active labour, so I was in a room with a lady who had just given birth a few days ago. My contractions started getting

stronger and stronger and more close together. They were coming at around 2 to 3 mins and I had to start breathing through them. They were soo painful. I asked the midwife

for some pain medication, gas or something but she said all she could give me was a stronger dose of paracetemol!! because "my contractions were only 30 seconds long so

i was not in active labour"... this whole time I had not been internally examined so I had no idea how much dilated or effaced I was. I took some paracetemol and my contractions

seemed to have spread further apart and weren't as painful..they were coming every 5 mins, so I was sleeping through them.

8pm came, and "visiting hours were over" soo my husband was sent home!!! I was left all by myself to deal with labour and the pain without any support people or any pain medication.

The contractions were coming closer together again, every 2 mins and were sooo painful. I was moaning and grunting through them. I kept buzzing for the midwife, but she ignored me.

I think I buzzed for someone to come at least 5 times every 20-30 mins, and was ignored for about 2 hours. Then finally someone came, I was in agony. I was begging for pain relief.

The midwives were like, "you are obviously in distress".. and i was like no, im in pain! just give me something! cant you check me? and they werre like no, sorry we arent allowed to check

you because your membranes have ruptured its easier to get an infection!!

about 5 minutes later another midwife came and said, "what is your problem" and i was like im in pain!!! she was like, ok fine i'll check you! and she checked me and was like, "do you want

to have your baby here?".. im like what!? am i fully dilated?? shes like yep!

i was soooo angry but soo tired. My husband was not there, i was alone and was in so much pain. I was feeling like I had to do a huge poo for hours now! They didnt believe I was in active

labour all day and now i am ready to push! I could not believe it!!

the midwife then goes, alright give me one big push and we'll see what happens. So I pushed, but nothing happened. So she called to the other midwives and got me a wheelchair. I was

wheeled into the labour & delivery suite and i txted my husband to come ASAP coz i was about to have the baby! I got up there and had to ask for a hospital gown to wear! and then was

told to stand by the bed and give some pushes, so i did and nothing happened. She then told me to get on the bed and sit and wait for my husband to come.

He came about 10 minutes later, my contractions were soo bad at that point but had distanced to about 6-7 minutes apart and were still lasting about 30-45 seconds. My husband came,

and I got on all fours on the bed and pushed with every contraction. I was pushing and pushing for what felt ages and it hurt so bad. I was starting to think I couldnt do it.. so i was saying

no no i cant do it i cant! and my husband was screaming I can i can! he was very supportive and motivated me to keep going.

When the head was coming out, it was like a burning feeling. I pushed 2times, longgg and hard and my husband went to see the head coming out. He was like, "i can see the head!!

push harder!!" so i reached down and felt my little babies hair! so pushed one last long hard push and out he came! the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. I wish i could go through

that part again and again, just the feeling of him sliding out and hearing his voice for the first time!

My son, Isa was born! on the 10th of December at 11.56pm weighing at 8.9 pounds (4.07kgs) and 53cms long! We cuddled for about an hour, and he went on the breast straight away.

The midwives said i was breastfeeding like i had 8 kids before lol.. he is the most perfect little baby. He sleeps most of the time and wakes just to feed! i'm so blessed to have him!

I birthed the placenta about 5 minutes after and could barely feel it. I think the midwife pulled it gently out and then she was like give two big coughs for me, so I did and it came out!

I was too busy admiring my son to even notice the placenta lol.. I had to get one long internal stitch because I tore a little!

19th April 2007 [6 Weeks] - I am 6 weeks and 1 day pregnant now. I haven't had any symptoms at all. Except for extreme fatigue. I'm so tired all the time!! Last week I had a urinary tract infection!! That was the worst thing ever, I hope I don't get that again! Extremely uncomfortable! But Thank God it left after I saw the doctor and got some pills.

30th April 2007 [8 weeks] - I am 8 weeks pregnant on wednesday. How exciting! I seem to have a recurring urinary tract infection, which is quite annoying! I started my morning sickness also but it seems to be getting worse. The smells are getting bad tooo! I feel sorry for my hubby, he has to deal with it LOL i can see him getting frustrated when he coooks and cooks for me then i won't eat it because of the smell! I hope this passes soon... I have my first ultrasound on the 8th of May to see my datings and if i am pregnant with twins... cant wait till then =)

15th June 2007 [14 weeks] - I am around 14 weeks now. It has been a while since I have updated this page. I'm a big procrastinator so i've been putting it off for a while! Welll my last ultrasound went good, I saw my little dot. It was the best feeling ever! Seeing its little heart beating! awwwwwwwwwwwwww how cute!! Only a few more weeks till i can find out the sex! I'm so excited about that!! then i can finallllly go shopping for either pink or blue! I still think time is going soooo slowwwww. I'm only 14 weeks! but at least im gettin there! even if it is slowly. Two of my friends are pregnant at the same time now aswell, one is way infront and one is a few weeks behind so its good =)
My morning sickness is kinda going, i've still got nausea though. Sometimes when i eat i feel like throwing up! and i'm starting to get heart burn!! oohhh that is the worst! its horrible! but it is worth it =) my tummy has also grown a little! i should get batteries for my camera and take a pic!

20th July 2007 [19 weeks] - Welll I had my ultrasound yesterday! It was so amazing. I love my little baby. I found out the sex and

He was soo cute, all rubbing his eyes and sucking his thumb! I had to go back three times too because he didnt want to move! He was lying on his belly all day lol.. and everytime he kept turning his back to the doctor lol.. I just love him so much already! He is sooo cuteee his little skeletal face! awwwwwww. I can't wait to see him!!!

31st of August 2007 [25 weeks] - Nothing really new with me since then. I've been shopping! All I need to get now is a cot, pram and baby seat! I got all the small things and I got given heeeaps of stuff. Even an old pram, but I won't be using that because I want a new one, one I can use for other babies if and when I have them!! I got heaps of cute clothes, and a cute bassinette. I'll post some pics up tomorrow (my computer is being slow at the moment).
Anyway, I've been getting back pain in my lower back especially at nights, and im already leaking colostrum!! ewww lol it was so gross, but it seems to have calmed down a little now. My belly is growing and im starting to get excited. A little over 3 months to go and I can hold my baby boy! I've thought of some names, but I keep changing my mind so i'm going to leave it until I see him.
I think i'm going to change my doctor too, i'm doing shared care which is most of the time i'll see my GP and every few months i'll go to the hospital for a check up. But I really don't think my doctor is doing a good enough job. I mean she puts the doppler on my belly, but for literally 5 seconds or less! Not enough to determine his heartbeat!! It could be the placenta for all she knows! She is not thorough enough so i'm going to see if I can change back to the hospital for full care! I've put on 6kgs (prob more now) so far and that is all over not just my belly! Grrr can't wait to lose that. Anyway i'll update ya'll later!

September 26th [28 weeks and 6 days!]
Well nothing is new here, I did my blood glucose test last week and it came back good. The baby is kicking a lot now, inside my ribs and alll lol its cute, I love him =] I can't believe how far along i've come. Its almost surreal. In 11 weeks i'm going to have my baby! The birth part is starting to scare me more and more but I can't wait to see him and hold him. It is the month of Ramadan (the month where muslims fast) and I haven't been fasting due to pregnancy. But I doo have to run around cooking which is exhausting lol my feet are killllling me still from yesterdays cooking, standing alll day in the kitchen lol (we had guests over)..

I've put on so much weight this month, but i think some of it might be fluid retention. It is getting hotter here in australia and my feet, ankles and hands swelll soo much lol I had to take my rings off! I also have the worst pain in the muscle in my upper thigh, its been there for weeks now. I had it in the beginning but it went away now i've got it again. I heard it won't be going away until the baby is born *sigh* the things we go through for our babies hehe alll worth it though!

I've gotta start buying the baby furniture, i've reminded my husband about how we don't have much time left so i think we'll be getting to that very shortly!!

Anyways, i'll post a new belly pic!

October 19th 2007 [32 weeks, 1 day]
So I had my fortnightly check up today, all has been quite good until now.... I have high blood pressure and protein in my urine! Sooo tomorrow I've gotta go to the hospital to do more tests! So i'll update tomorrow.

[Update] - I went to the hospital and got checked. Everything is back to normal but there was still a little bit of protein left in my urine. The midwife said its nothing to worry about! I got a CTG scan, they put this thing on my belly and I got to hear my baby's heartbeat and kicks for about 30 mins! He was so active.. she said he sounds like a very happy baby =).. she checked his position and she said we are back to back and he is head down which is good! I hope he stays this way!

November 8th 2007 [35 weeks! 35 days to go! -
Wow! i can't believe i've reached 35 weeks, two more weeks until i'm considered full term! I'm so nervous to be a mummy! I just want the best for my son! But i'm sooo excited to see him and hold him and kisss him and so excited to get my body back =) im officially sick of being pregnant! I feel soo heavy and I can hardly roll over in bed at night lol that and I have pubic symphisis which is like ligament/muslce pain in my groin! it hurtsss so bad and won't go away until I give birth! oooh well its worth it in the end!

I've been losing my mucous plug since about 33 weeks now, only tiny pieces though and not every day anymore. I was worried at first but I found out it is perfectly normal, and the mucous plug is quite big so i know i haven't lost it all! Anyway soo I hope I go a bit early but not before he is full term!
